Has your mom or dad ever posted a photo of you on social media that you didn’t want anyone outside your family to see? In an age when people often share personal information on sites such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, many parents usually post photos of their children. According to a recent study, a parent will post almost 1,000 photos of a child online before the child turns 5.
Parents often post photos on social media because they want to share their children’s special moments with friends and family. Some mothers and dads do it as a way to connect with other parents. They may have discussions with experienced parents about topics such as how to get kids to sleep, or how to deal with kids’ behavioral problems.
Most parents don’t ask their children for permission (允许) before posting photos of them. They feel it is not necessary to consult with their children first because the benefits (利益) outweigh any possible risks. Many of them do not fear their kids’ pictures will spread further than they thought. Some may even expect unknown people to view and comment on the pictures, and thus meet more new people on the Internet. “The photos I post of my children allow me to know a lot of people I wouldn’t necessarily include on my list,” said Lauren Apfel, a writer and mother of four. “They have helped me create a group on social media.”
Other parents and child experts believe that kids should be consulted. They say that photos can stay online for many years and that kids should have some control over their online photos. Devorah Heitner, a writer who runs workshops about kids, is of the same opinion. “Allow your children to decide whether you can share their pictures on social media,” she said.
56.What do we know about today’s parents from Paragraph 1?

A.They share the photos just for fun. B.They hope to introduce their kids.

A.It is likely to be risky. B.It is bad for children.
C.It makes her online friends bored. D.It helps her to make more friends.

根据第三段“Most parents don’t ask their children for permission before posting photos of them. They feel it is not necessary to consult with their children first”可知,前句提到父母发布照片前不征求孩子同意,后句承接表示“他们觉得没必要先和孩子商量”,由此可推测consult意为“讨论;商量”,与“discuss”意思相近。故选B。
根据第四段“Allow your children to decide whether you can share their pictures on social media”可知,Heitner建议父母在发布孩子照片前,先获得孩子的许可。故选A。

On Sundays, my father always wore that gray apron (围裙) after breakfast. For the next hour, Dad did the dishes, singing songs like I Had a Hat When I Came in.
I thought it was strange for a man to wear an apron.
It was the last Sunday in August. My father seemed happy as we walked home from the supermarket together. “Tommy,” he said, “there comes a time in every boy’s life when he must take on responsibilities (责任). From today, I want you to wash the dishes on Sunday morning, so your mother and I can read the newspaper.”
“Wash the dishes?”
“Anything wrong with doing the dishes, son?”
I started to say something about a man’s job or a woman’s work, but I knew quickly that my protests (抗议) would be of no use.
I didn’t taste a bit of breakfast that morning. Dad didn’t notice me at all. Suddenly, everything became quiet. My sister began to clean the table. And then my father said to my mother, “Let’s go and read the newspapers.”
So this was what my life had come to. I could learn Latin well, play baseball well... I could do anything, but I could never do those dishes.
My father came back into the kitchen later, and in his right hand was the old apron. “I want you to have this, Tommy. It’ll keep your clothes from getting wet.” Before I could say a word, he had put it on me. “Thanks, son.”
I looked down at the apron. I could see my dad going out of the kitchen. Soon I was singing I Had a Hat When I Came in. And I knew the kind of man I wanted to be.
61.What did Tommy’s father usually do on Sunday mornings?
A.Read the newspaper. B.Wash the dishes and sing.
C.Go to the supermarket. D.Play baseball.
62.Why was Tommy unwilling (不愿意) to wash the dishes at first?
A.Because he thought it was a women’s job. B.Because he was not good at it.
C.Because he had to go out to play basketball. D.Because he wanted to read the newspaper.
63.Why did Tommy’s father come back to the kitchen?
A.To teach Tommy how to wash the dishes. B.To talk with Tommy about his feelings.
C.To give Tommy the apron to wear. D.To check (检查) Tommy’s work.
64.What is probably the result of the story?
A.Tommy did nothing.
B.Tommy still thought doing dishes was not his job.
C.Tommy wasn’t happy but finished doing the dishes.
D.He did the dishes like his father.
65.What did Tommy understand in the end?
A.Washing dishes was very difficult. B.He wanted to be a man like his father.
C.He should never do a woman’s job. D.His father was trying to punish him.
【答案】61.B 62.A 63.C 64.D 65.B
由第一段“On Sundays, my father always wore that gray apron...For the next hour, Dad did the dishes, singing songs...”
62.由第六段“I started to say something about a man’s job or a woman’s work”可知,他认为洗碗是女人的工作。
63.由第九段“I want you to have this, Tommy. It’ll keep your clothes from getting wet.”及“he had put it on me”可知,他是回来给Tommy穿围裙的。
64.由最后一段“Soon I was singing I Had a Hat When I Came in.”
65.由末句“And I knew the kind of man I wanted to be.”

故填care about。
根据“baking cookies or playing board games”可知,此处列举周末家庭活动,且like是介词后接动名词,cleaning our house“打扫房子”是常见的家庭周末活动。

“East or west, home is best.” For 10-year-old Tom, this is 71 (especial) true. Tom lives in a small California house with his parents. Their house might look normal (一般的) outside, but inside, it’s full of amazing reused 72 (treasure). Tom and his dad love collecting old things, and they are always ready 73 (turn) them into something new. They save lots of money by reusing the old things.
Tom learnt this from his grandpa. When Tom was a kid, his grandpa always 74 (remind) him not to waste things. “We can easily make old things useful again!” His grandpa said. So, Tom and his dad collect old chairs, tables, and toys from the street or friends. They fix them up (修理) and paint them. They work on them 75 each thing looks new. The cool bookcase in Tom’s room was once 76 old wooden box! The colourful birdhouse in the garden was made from broken fence pieces
Now, Tom’s friends give him 77 (they) old things instead of throwing them away. “Our home is special because almost everything in it 78 (have) a story,” Tom says with a big smile. “And I understand that reusing old things can help to fight waste.”
Tom loves adding new life 79 old things. His home perfectly shows how creativity (创新力) can make old things 80 (wonder) again!

根据“They work on them...each thing looks new”可知,是一直改造到每一件东西都很新,until“直到……为止”符合逻辑。
76.句意:汤姆房间里别致的书柜原本是一个旧木箱。此处表示“一个旧木箱”,old以元音音素开头,应用不定冠词an。
77.句意:现在,汤姆的朋友们会把自己的旧东西送给他,而非丢掉。形容词性物主代词their修饰名词things,意为“东西”。

Visitors often go to a lot of places in a short period of time at a low cost, usually on weekends.

A.To teach Tommy how to wash the dishes. B.To talk with Tommy about his feelings.
