Part A 阅读理解
Digital Detox: A New Lifestyle Choice in 2026
In 2026, a new lifestyle is quietly becoming popular around the world: the digital detox (数字戒断). More and more people are choosing to spend less time on their phones—not because anyone forces them to, but because they want to.
Why are people making this choice? A recent survey found that many phone users often feel anxious (焦虑的) and tired after long hours online. By cutting down screen time, people hope to improve their mental health, focus better on their studies or work, and spend more quality time with family and friends. Interestingly, even Generation Z—young people who grew up with the Internet and spend more time online than any other generation—are now leading this change.
Part of the problem is that smartphones and apps are designed to keep us hooked (使上瘾的). Many people open an app for "just five minutes" but end up spending two hours—falling into the trap without even noticing it.
So how are people detoxing? Some are buying "dumb phones" (功能手机)—simple phones without social media apps. Others keep their phones out of the bedroom, so mornings start with breakfast or reading instead of scrolling (刷屏). Screen-free meals are also becoming a common family rule: no phones at the table, just real conversation.
"Digital detox doesn't mean throwing away your smartphone," explains Dr. Sarah Chen, a psychologist (心理学家). "Technology itself is not the enemy. What we need is to use it with clear intention (意图) and find a healthy balance between our online and offline lives."
In the end, digital detox is less about giving up technology and more about taking back control. After all, your life is what you make it—online or offline.

A. Because they want to completely abandon all digital devices.
B. Because they are forced by their parents to reduce screen time.
C. Because they want to improve mental health, focus, and relationships.
D. Because digital devices have become too expensive to use.
3. What does the underlined phrase "falling into the trap" in Paragraph 3 probably mean?
A. Getting caught in a dangerous situation unexpectedly.
B. Dropping a phone into water by accident.
C. Buying a phone that doesn't work properly.

4. Which of the following is NOT mentioned as a digital detox trend in the passage?

Three months later, Tom has become a different person. He has more energy, better grades, and 9________ (strong) relationships with friends. "The best choice I ever made," he says, "was 10________ (decide) to take control of my own life."
Part C 完形填空
My Digital Detox Journey
Like many teenagers, I used to be addicted to my smartphone. Every morning, the first thing I did was 1 1 my phone to check social media. I would spend hours scrolling through short videos, 2 that I was "just relaxing." But deep down, I knew something was wrong. I felt tired, anxious, and unable 3 on my studies.
One day, my English teacher shared an article about digital detox with our class. She told us that more and more young people were making a 4 choice — to put down their phones and reconnect with the real world. Her words really 5 me. I decided to try a one-week digital detox experiment.
The first two days were incredibly hard. I kept 6 for my phone, even when I was eating or walking. But I stuck to my plan. I moved my phone to the living room before going to bed and bought a simple alarm clock
7 my bedroom. I also made a rule: no phones at the dinner table.
Slowly, things started to change. Without constant notifications, I found myself 8 more time reading books and talking to my family. I even picked up my old hobby — 9 basketball with my neighbors after school. My sleep improved, and I felt more energetic during the day.
Now, three months later, I still use my smartphone, but I use it 10 . I set screen-time limits and turn off unnecessary notifications. I've learned that technology is a tool, not a master. The power to choose how we live
11 in our own hands.
This experience taught me an important lesson: sometimes, the best life choice is not about getting more,
12 about letting go. Just like Li Ying in our textbook, who sets clear goals and tries her best 13 them, I have set my own goal — to live a balanced life where technology serves me, not the other way 14 . After all, our life is what we make it. The choices we make today 15 who we become tomorrow.
