My Favourite Singer
When it comes to my favourite singer, Jay Chou always comes to my mind first. I first heard his music when I was very young, and since then, he has become an important part of my life.
Jay Chou is a talented Chinese singer known for mixing traditional Chinese culture with modern pop music. What makes him special is that most of his songs are created by himself. Some of his most famous works include Blue and White Porcelain and Qi-Li-Xiang. I especially love his slow songs because their lyrics are beautiful and full of warmth.
Jay Chou has inspired me in many ways. First, his music always calms me down when I feel tired or stressed in my studies. Second, his creative spirit teaches me to keep trying new things. For these reasons, Jay Chou will always be my favourite singer.

My Favorite Band
When it comes to the band that I love most, I can’t help thinking of the Beatles.
I’m the biggest fan of the band. When they exploded onto the music scene in 1962, they were a force for change, with their changeable music styles—from basic rock and roll music to complicated and progressive sounds. Their music is always joyous and hopeful for a better future. Listening to their songs always gives me inner strength to face everything in life.
You should definitely listen to their songs—I bet you’ll like them!

Homework
Dear Peter,
How are you doing? I am thrilled to share with you an unforgettable experience I had last weekend. I attended Eason Chan’s “Fear and Dreams” concert and it was incredible.
Eason Chan, my beloved singer, performed wonderful songs live, among which “The Possibility of a Dream” struck me most. The lyrics spoke to the heart, conveying the message of never surrendering to fate. Also, the melody was truly uplifting, with soulful tunes and vibrant rhythms. Singing along to Eason and the crowd, I felt inspired and totally lost in a world of dreams.
The entire concert was a fantastic feast. How I wish you could have been there with me to experience it! Hoping to hear from you soon.
Yours,
Li Hua
