根据全文内容,第一段介绍了亚洲马拉松的整体情况“Asia offers a wide range of marathon events across different countries and regions. These races are held in urban centers as well as in areas of cultural and natural significance.(亚洲在不同国家和地区举办各种各样的马拉松赛事,这些赛事既有在城市中心举办的,也有在具有文化和自然意义的地区举办的)”,表格列出了四场马拉松的具体信息,最后给出参赛注意事项,可知本文旨在提供亚洲马拉松的相关信息。故选D。
The Great Wall of China Marathon The Great Wall of China Marathon。故选B。
根据Things To Think About中“Make sure that you are making accommodations through reputable sites for travel.(确保你通过信誉良好的旅游网站预订住宿)”可知,建议参赛者在参赛前从可信的网站预订酒店。故选A。
4.C 5.D 6.A 7.B
根据第二段“Day after day, I repeated the same routines: I set up the perfect workspace, blocked out hours for writing, and reread old pages that had once made me proud. None of it helped. For a while, I blamed myself, mistaking my procrastination (拖延) for laziness or lack of discipline.(日复一日,我重复着同样的流程:布置完美的工作环境,专门安排写作时间,再重新阅读那些曾经让我自豪的旧文稿。
根据第三段“Beneath the delay, I found fear — not of the work, but of judgment. Procrastination had become a safety net; staying still meant avoiding being seen and possibly found lacking.(在拖延之下,我发现了恐惧——不是对工作的恐惧,而是对评判的恐惧。
根据第四段“I set a timer for five minutes and wrote whatever came. A sentence, half an idea, a small whisper of a scene. My hand moved first, and my mind followed. Piece by piece, those small beginnings grew into the book I had been afraid to start.(我设了个五分钟的计时器,然后写下所有涌上心头的东西——一句句子、半个想法,或是一段场景的微弱低语。
根据第五段“What I once called wasted time was, in truth, the stillness before courage — the quiet reward of writing.(我曾经称之为浪费时间的,实际上正是勇气之前的静默——写作带来的宁静回报)”可知,作者在最后一段传达了宁静可以成为创造力的一部分。
8.D 9.D 10.B 11.A
根据第一段“Engineers at the University of California have developed an experimental smart ring that continuously analyzes sweat from the finger to monitor several molecules (分子) associated with nutrition, exercise, and alcohol consumption.(加州大学的工程师研发出一款实验性智能戒指,该戒指可持续分析手指分泌的汗液,以此监测与营养、运动以及酒精摄入相关的多种分子)”以及第二段中的“Existing smart rings typically rely on signals such as heart rate, movement, and skin temperature, while the new device is designed to capture changing chemical information from inside the body.(现有的智能戒指通常依靠心率、运动和皮肤温度等信号,而这款新设备旨在捕捉人体内部不断变化的化学信息。)”
根据第三段中的“One section houses the sweat collection system, fluid channel, and sensors, while another includes the battery and circuit board.(一部分houses汗液收集系统、流体通道和传感器,另一部分包含电池和电路板。)”
根据第四段中的“This personalized calibration is important because sweat composition and the relationship between sweat and blood measurements can vary from one person to another.(这种个性化校准十分重要,因为汗液成分以及汗液与血液检测结果之间的关系因人而异。)”
根据最后一段中的“A ring capturing dynamic chemical information in real time would be extremely useful for making informed decisions regarding health, diet, and lifestyle.(一款能够实时捕捉动态化学信息的戒指,对于人们就健康、饮食和生活方式做出合理判断极具价值。)”
12.C 13.C 14.D 15.A
根据第一段中“New research from the University of Hawai’i (UH) revealed traditional Hawaiian fishponds (loko i’a) could effectively keep fish populations from the negative impacts of climate change.
通读第二段,尤其是根据第二段中“Loko i’a are traditional Hawaiian fishponds built along coastal areas or river mouths. These fishponds have been used for centuries.
根据第三段中“This result is likely due to the temperature regulation that loko i’a receives from freshwater input, both at the surface and below the ground. The temperature differences we detected are meaningful for fish productivity.
通读全文,尤其是根据第五段中“For Hawai’i, the findings demonstrate the value that traditional knowledge and systems have in guiding modern science.

故填a。
故填where。
“aim to do sth.” 故填to promote。
根据句意可知,“a center of trade”和“home to envoys (使者) and business people from outside China”之间是并列关系,所以用连词“and”连接。故填and。
“be open to sb.” 故填to。

Dear David,
I’m delighted to share that I won first prize in our school’s “Capture Spring on Campus” photography contest last week. My photo was taken in front of the library, where a cherry blossom tree was in full bloom. Petals drifted down like pink snow, while a few students sat on the grass reading and chatting, creating a peaceful and lively scene.
Participating in the contest was truly rewarding. Not only did it push me to observe my surroundings more carefully, but it also helped me appreciate the subtle beauty of everyday campus life. Winning the prize has greatly boosted my confidence and deepened my passion for photography.
What about the spring on your campus? Looking forward to your reply.
Yours,
Li Hua

47.例文
Ella noticed tears were rolling down the young man’s cheeks. Suddenly, it clicked — this must be Theo, Tom’s youngest grandson. Handing him some tissues, Ella asked gently, “You’re Theo aren’t you?” The man nodded, his voice trembling as he choked out, “Grandpa always talked about you, Ella. He reminded me that I must be here today, or he would fail a trusted friend.” Memories of Tom’s ancient mechanical watch and their casual chats flashed back until cheers for a home goal interrupted Ella’s mind.
Ella broke off a square of chocolate as usual and handed it to Theo. “For that home goal.” Ella smiled with her teary eyes, “It’s what we have been doing for those years.” They both took a bite, the sweet chocolate melting in their mouths. Theo looked around at the cheering crowd, and for the first time, he understood the joy and sense of community that football had brought his grandpa. As the match went on, they chatted like old friends, keeping Tom’s memory alive in the fan zone.

When I wrote my first book three years ago, the words came naturally. Eight weeks of even rhythm and it was finished with ease. So when I sat down to write my second book, I expected the same effortless flow. Instead, I found myself staring at a blinking (闪烁的) typing line that seemed to flash with quiet accusation. I couldn’t begin.
Day after day, I repeated the same routines: I set up the perfect workspace, blocked out hours for writing, and reread old pages that had once made me proud. None of it helped. For a while, I blamed myself, mistaking my procrastination (拖延) for laziness or lack of discipline. Still, the familiar motions kept me occupied while the work itself remained still.
Eventually, exhaustion softened my stress, and I stopped pushing. What if the resistance was trying to tell me something? I opened my journal and started writing — not about the book, but about why I couldn’t write it. The truth that poured out was simple and childlike: What if this book isn’t as good as the first? What if readers decide a woman like me has already said everything she knows? Beneath the delay, I found fear — not of the work, but of judgment. Procrastination had become a safety net; staying still meant avoiding being seen and possibly found lacking.
So I tried something different. I set a timer for five minutes and wrote whatever came. A sentence, half an idea, a small whisper of a scene. My hand moved first, and my mind followed. Piece by piece, those small beginnings grew into the book I had been afraid to start.
By the time I finished, I saw procrastination differently. It was never merely delay. It was a quiet dialogue between the part of me that wants to try and the part that fears the fall. What I once called wasted time was, in truth, the stillness before courage — the quiet reward of writing.

5.What actually prevented the author from writing?
A.Lack of new ideas. B.Pursuit of perfection.
C.Desire for social fame. D.Concern over disapproval.
6.How did the author manage to restart her writing?
A.By taking one step at a time. B.By focusing on small details.
C.By reflecting on the outcome. D.By following a flexible schedule.
7.What message does the author seem to deliver in the last paragraph?
A.Courage helps fight against fear. B.Stillness can be part of creativity.

Engineers at the University of California have developed an experimental smart ring that continuously analyzes sweat from the finger to monitor several molecules (分子) associated with nutrition, exercise, and alcohol consumption.
The technology marks a shift from the physical measurements collected by most consumer wearables. Existing smart rings typically rely on signals such as heart rate, movement, and skin temperature, while the new device is designed to capture changing chemical information from inside the body. It is described as the first fully integrated smart ring intended for routine biochemical monitoring.
The ring contains the entire sensing system rather than relying on a separate patch or external reader. One section houses the sweat collection system, fluid channel, and sensors, while another includes the battery and circuit board. Results are transmitted wirelessly to a smartphone app, allowing biomarker changes to be viewed over time.
The device’s most important feature is that wearers don’t need to exercise or deliberately get sweaty. Fingers continually release small amounts of sweat, even when a person is resting. A soft material inside the ring creates a pressure difference that gently pulls sweat through the skin and into a narrow fluid channel. Afterwards, a set of electrochemical sensors capture that fluid and measure molecules in the collected sweat. The electronic signals are later transformed into estimated concentrations using calibration (校准) factors developed for each wearer. This personalized calibration is important because sweat composition and the relationship between sweat and blood measurements can vary from one person to another.
The ability to follow several molecules together may reveal patterns that a single reading would miss. Continuous monitoring could show how those levels change after meals, during fasting, throughout exercise, or in response to medication. A ring capturing dynamic chemical information in real time would be extremely useful for making informed decisions regarding health, diet, and lifestyle.
8.How is the new smart ring different from existing ones?
A.It detects heart rates. B.It records body temperature.
C.It works without phones. D.It analyzes chemicals in sweat.
9.What does the underlined word “houses” in paragraph 3 mean?
A.Connects. B.Generates. C.Transports. D.Contains.
10.Which factor makes the device reliable during the sweat-testing process?
A.Sweat collection. B.Individualized calibration.
C.Blood measurements. D.Electronic signal transformation.
11.What does the last paragraph tell us about the ring?
A.Its practical value. B.Its potential limitations.
C.Its production cost. D.Its physical appearance.

New research from the University of Hawai’i (UH) revealed traditional Hawaiian fishponds (loko i’a) could effectively keep fish populations from the negative impacts of climate change. The research was published in the recent issue of Ocean Sustainability.
Loko i’a are traditional Hawaiian fishponds built along coastal areas or river mouths. These fishponds have been used for centuries. They use carefully constructed walls to trap seawater while allowing freshwater to flow in, creating a controlled environment for fish: This design not only supports sustainable fish farming but also reflects the ecological knowledge and cultural practices of Hawaiian communities.
“We found that although rising water temperature may lead to declines in fish populations, loko i’a fish populations were more resistant to rising water temperatures than those in the surrounding estuary (江河入海的河口). This result is likely due to the temperature regulation that loko i’a receives from freshwater input, both at the surface and below the ground. The temperature differences we detected are meaningful for fish productivity,” said lead author Annie Innes-Gold, a recent PhD graduate from the UH.
“These findings highlight how important freshwater inputs are as a source of temperature regulation,” said Innes-Gold. “They also support the importance of biocultural restoration in terms of enhancing fish populations and increasing social-ecological resistance in a changing climate.”
For Hawai’i, the findings demonstrate the value that traditional knowledge and systems have in guiding modern science. “Loko i’a are a system unique to Hawai’i, and their restoration can have wide-reaching benefits including cultural preservation, education, healthy ecosystems, food security, and now — from what we found in our study — also climate resistance,” said Innes-Gold.
12.What did the study find about loko i’a?
A.They face rising temperature challenges.
B.They have a great diversity of fish species.
C.They are able to resist climate change impacts.
D.They receive water supply from local estuaries.
13.What does the author intend to do in paragraph 2?
A.Summarize the previous paragraph. B.Introduce a new topic for discussion.
C.Provide some background information. D.Offer an example for the next paragraph.
14.What comparisons between loko i’a and the surrounding bay did the researchers make?
A.Their fish behavior. B.Their daily fish catch.
C.Their natural nutrients. D.Their water temperatures.
15.Which can be a suitable title for the text?
A.Ancient Practices Inspire Modern Solutions. B.Hot Weather Threatens Hawaiian Traditions.
C.Fishery Development Ensures Food Security. D.Freshwater Inputs Reduce Sea Fish Numbers.

Perfectionism is not necessarily about being “perfect” or about doing something perfectly. Even researchers in the field may not agree on the “perfect” definition of perfectionism. However, research often centers round the following definition: 16 It involves basing one’s self-worth almost entirely on how well these high standards are pursued and achieved.
Often perfectionists may not recognize that perfectionism is indeed at the root of their problems. Perfectionists often present with anxiety, depression, procrastination, social anxiety, and eating difficulties. 17 Moreover, note that there is a difference between a healthy pursuit of excellence and unhelpful perfectionism. Setting goals and having high standards help us achieve things in life. However, when goals and tasks are only achievable at great cost, perfectionism becomes a problem.
18 A thought diary can help you become aware of negative thoughts and how they make you feel and behave. It enables you to investigate how useful these thoughts are and regain balance. Secondly, reflect on whether you put unreasonable expectations on yourself. A good question to ask yourself is, what would you say to a friend with these expectations? 19 Finally, try to think about the amount of importance you place on different areas of your life that contribute to your self-worth. Not just academic or work achievements but things like hobbies and being a good friend.
Changing perfectionism is not easy, as one has to weigh the advantages and disadvantages. A person who has unhelpful perfectionism has to first realize that it is a problem. 20 Workshops, counselling and CBT(Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) can also help a person begin to address the underlying beliefs and thinking styles that maintain perfectionism.
A.Perfectionism features doing things perfectly.
B.It can be helpful to gain a different perspective.
C.Strict perfectionist attitudes actually affect the chances of success.
D.To help get rid of perfectionism, experts offer various useful tips.
E.Self-help books and websites can help identify which areas of perfectionism apply to them.
F.Behaviors associated with perfectionism are over-checking, repeated revision and so on.
G.Perfectionism is going to extreme lengths to meet self-set, very demanding standards despite negative consequences.

As Ella managed to get through the fan zone area, she thought about Tom Masterton. He had the seat next to hers and each week, before and after the match, there was always time for a casual chat. Now, after long, drawn-out weeks without their beloved football, she was eager to share her new college life and catch up on Tom’s recent news
His family didn’t share his love of the beautiful game, so he seemed happy to chat with Ella He was proud of his children and grandkids, though, and lived in hope that, one day, Theo, his youngest grandson, might understand and come along.
At the entrance Ella opened her backpack for a security check. Two bars of chocolate sat on top ready for their big moment when, or if, it arrived. It had become sort of a rule that the two would eat a square each after every home goal.
Ella made her way to her seat, put down her backpack. and looked at the empty space beside her. Usually her old friend would be ready and waiting, holding up his ancient mechanical watch as a joke when she arrived, It wasn’t like him to be late, which made her uneasy.
Just then, a-young man edged past her and sat straight down in Tom’s seat. She side-eyed him, failing to find any sign to identify him as a home supporter. And he seemed quite uninterested that their team had just scored. He even stole a quick glance at Ella as if they had known each other.
Suddenly, a voice came from the ground announcer asking all supporters to stand and pay tribute (致敬) to a home supporter who had recently passed away. Ella froze in her seat — the tribute took place in the 76th minute and Tom was aged seventy-six. The club rose as one, clapping solidly for 60 seconds to show their appreciation for a long-time fellow supporter.
注意:1. 续写词数应为150个左右;
Ella noticed tears were rolling down the young man’s cheeks.
Ella broke off a square of chocolate as usual and handed it to Theo.
