1.B
2.A
to向,朝;for为了;in在……里面;at在。根据“Tu Youyou devoted all her life...medical research for people’s health.” devote...to...
固定句型“It is+adj.+for sb.+to do sth.”
stick in卡在……里;stick for无此固定搭配;stick to坚持;stick on贴在……
7.A
先行词“the only one”指代人,且关系词在从句中作主语,应用who。故选A。
8.B
根据“I want to give up”可知说话人因失败想放弃,对方鼓励其“Keep trying”,因此是劝其不要失去“希望”;“lose hope”意为“失去希望”,符合语境。
9.C
will将会;could能够;have been able to已经能够;were able to过去能够。根据句中时间标志词“so far”(到目前为止)可知,句子需使用现在完成时,应填have been able to。
10.B
“That’s all right”常用于回应道歉或感谢;“I agree with you”表示赞同对方观点;“Sounds terrible”表示负面评价;“You’re welcome”常用于回应感谢。根据下文“They set good examples for us.”
11.A 12.B 13.C 14.D 15.A 16.B 17.C 18.A 19.B 20.C

根据前文“However, Wilma didn’t give up.”
根据后文“She failed many races.”
根据后文“She practiced harder than anyone else.”
根据后文“It requires plenty of practice and strong will.”
固定搭配“spend time (in) doing sth.”
