Like many other parents in her village who marry and have children at a young age, she used to have little knowledge about how she should look after her child to ensure he can grow healthy and strong and reach his full potential. But everything changed when she received Nurturing Care Parenting training from village volunteers. Nurturing Care Parenting aims to help every child get the best possible start in life, including through healthcare, early education and play. It also helps parents avoid violence or punishment to discipline their children. “I learned a lot from Nurturing Care Parenting,” Dim Nang Lao says. “I learned how to care for my child’s health, nutrition and education. I learned how to talk to him when he is wrong and comfort him when he is sad. I learned that a child is a white paper. If I hit him, he will learn those actions from me.” Dim Nang Lao is one of many who have benefited from the training. According to a local official named Ang Chenda, the training has reached five villages and has improved the lives of many families. She says she welcomes the training as many parents in the area did not fully understand what they needed to do to fully support their children’s needs and development and often spent most of their time earning an income through farm work. “After the training, their understanding of raising young children is far different,” Ang Chenda says. “They are more aware of the importance of caring for their children. B 【解析】 【导语】本文是一篇新闻报道。文章主要报道了在柬埔寨东北部一个偏远山区,一位名叫Dim Nang Lao的年轻母亲通过接受“养育关怀育儿”培训,学会了如何更好地照顾和教育自己的孩子,从而改善了家庭生活和孩子成长环境的故事。 【41题详解】 细节理解题。根据文章第一段“Like many other parents in her village who marry and have children at a young age, she used to have little knowledge about how she should look after her child to ensure he can grow healthy and strong and reach his full potential. (和她所在村庄的许多其他年轻时就结婚生子的父母一样,她过去几乎不知道该如何照顾自己的孩子,以确保他能够健康茁壮地成长并充分发挥自己的潜力。)”可知,像Dim Nang Lao一样,村里许多年轻时就结婚生子的父母过去几乎不知道该如何照顾孩子,以确保孩子能健康茁壮地成长并充分发挥潜力。故选D。 【42题详解】 细节理解题。根据文章第二段“Nurturing Care Parenting aims to help every child get the best possible start in life, including through healthcare, early education and play. It also helps parents avoid violence or punishment to discipline their children. 根据文章第三段““I learned a lot from Nurturing Care Parenting,” Dim Nang Lao says. “I learned how to care for my child’s health, nutrition and education. I learned how to talk to him when he is wrong and comfort him when he is sad. I learned that a child is a white paper. If I hit him, he will learn those actions from me.” 根据文章第四段“According to a local official named Ang Chenda, the training has reached five villages and has improved the lives of many families. She says she welcomes the training as many parents in the area did not fully understand what they needed to do to fully support their children’s needs and development and often spent most of their time earning an income through farm work. (据一位名叫Ang Chenda的当地官员称,这项培训已经覆盖了五个村庄,并改善了许多家庭的生活。她表示,她很欢迎这项培训,因为该地区的许多父母并不完全清楚他们需要做些什么来充分满足孩子的需求和促进孩子的发展,而且他们常常把大部分时间花在农活上以赚取收入。)”以及第五段““After the training, their understanding of raising young children is far different,” Ang Chenda says. “They are more aware of the importance of caring for their children. They take their children to the health center for check-ups, issue birth certificates for their children and send their children to school. They also reduce violence and use positive discipline instead.” 故选A。 【45题详解】 细节理解题。根据文章最后一段“Dim Nang Lao says she is grateful for the opportunity to learn about positive parenting and apply it in her daily life. “I hope that more parents in our country can receive this training and benefit from it as I do,” she adds. (Dim Nang Lao说,她很感激有机会学习积极的育儿方法,并将其应用到日常生活中。“我希望我们国家更多的父母能够接受这种培训,并像我一样从中受益。”她补充道。)”可知,Dim Nang Lao很感激有机会学习积极的育儿方法并应用到日常生活中,她希望自己国家更多的父母能接受这种培训并像她一样从中受益。也就是说,Dim Nang Lao对“养育关怀式育儿”培训的期望是它将被广泛接受。故选B。 C Diving rapidly to ocean depths of 800 meters or deeper several times a night, scalloped hammerhead sharks (路氏双髻鲨) search the ocean floor for food. Some speedy deep-sea sharks are partly warm-blooded, which can pass body heat to specific organs (器官) even in icy temperatures. But the scalloped hammerhead shark has no such system. Every time it dives deep, its environment temperature drops over 20°C. Such an extreme temperature drop, especially for an animal that can’t warm itself, should weaken the shark’s eyesight and brain function. It could even be mortal, causing the shark’s muscles to seize up, and preventing it moving forward and pushing oxygenated water into its gills (鳃). That raised a question: How is it that these sharks can keep themselves warm and survive? To figure it out, Mark Royer, together with his team, attached a pack of sensors (传感器) to the animals off the coast of the Hawaiian island Oahu. These included a special device, which tracked movement, the energy of tail beats, and the body direction. The pack also recorded the water temperatures, and the shark’s internal body temperature. The sharks swam with this sensor pack for 23 days, and then the pack separated from the sharks and came up to the surface of the ocean, where it signaled its location to scientists. The data showed that the sharks maintained their body temperature changes within 0.1°C for the entirety of their dive, and most of their way back up to the surface. In the final 300 meters near the surface, the sharks’ body temperature dropped about a mere 2°C. The team believes that hammerhead sharks close their gills and mouths as they dive. They shut off their oxygen intake and prevent their body heat from escaping into the ocean. This strategy would allow them to stay warm as they hunt for food. The drop in temperature during the final part was likely due to the sharks opening their gills to breathe again as they neared comfortable water. The study makes this shark the first deep-diving fish known to do this trick. “It’s completely beyond our expectations. The meal at the bottom must be delicious, or else the energy loss involved wouldn’t be worth it,” Royer says. 46. What does the underlined word “mortal” in Paragraph 2 mean? A. Abnormal. B. Obvious. C. Deadly. D. Influential. 47. How do Royer’s team obtain their findings? A. By studying recorded data collected from sharks. B. By analyzing the body structure of the shark. C. By closely tracking sharks on the spot. D. By comparing similarities between different sharks. 48. What can be inferred about the sharks from Paragraph 4? A. They got rid of the pack of sensors in the deep sea. B. They struggled to signal their location to scientists. C. They kept steady body temperature in the deep sea. D. They consumed much oxygen at the bottom of ocean. 49. What trick do these deep-diving sharks use in the deep sea? A. They pass body heat to specific organs. B. They perform “breath-hold” diving. C. They breathe with their mouths. D. They dive deep very quickly. 50. What can be a suitable title for the text? A. Unique lifestyle: the first deep-diving fish’s happy life in the ocean. B. Brave exploration: warm-blooded sharks’ deep-ocean adventure. C. The appeal of food: hammerhead sharks’ hunting techniques. D. Unusual survival: hammerhead sharks’ deep-sea diving strategy. 【答案】46. C 47. A 48. C 49. B 50. D 【解析】 【导语】本文主要讲的是科学家研究路氏双髻鲨如何在深海低温环境下保住体温、存活捕猎,揭示了它闭鳃闭嘴锁热的独特本领。 【46题详解】 词句猜测题。根据第二段“causing the shark’s muscles to seize up, and preventing it moving forward and pushing oxygenated water into its gills (鳃).(鲨鱼肌肉会突然僵硬,无法前进,也无法将富含氧气的海水推入鳃部)”可知,这可能会导致鲨鱼的死亡,是致命的,因此mortal的意思是“致命的”,和Deadly意思相近。 【47题详解】 细节理解题。根据第三段“To figure it out, Mark Royer, together with his team, attached a pack of sensors to the animals off the coast of the Hawaiian island Oahu...The pack also recorded the water temperatures, and the shark’s internal body temperature.(为了弄清楚这个问题,马克·罗耶与他的团队在夏威夷瓦胡岛海岸附近给这些鲨鱼安装了一组传感器)”和第四段“The sharks swam with this sensor pack for 23 days, and then the pack separated from the sharks and came up to the surface of the ocean, where it signaled its location to scientists. The data showed that the sharks maintained their body temperature changes within 0.1°C for the entirety of their dive, and most of their way back up to the surface.(鲨鱼使用这个传感器包潜行了23天,随后传感器包与鲨鱼分离,并浮出海面,向科学家发出位置信号。数据显示,鲨鱼在全程潜水过程中以及大部分回升至水面的过程中,体温变化始终控制在0.1°C以内。)”可知,Royer的团队是通过研究从鲨鱼身上收集的记录数据来获得他们研究成果的。 【48题详解】 推理判断题。根据第四段“The data showed that the sharks maintained their body temperature changes within 0.1°C for the entirety of their dive, and most of their way back up to the surface.(数据显示,鲨鱼在全程潜水过程中以及大部分回升至水面的过程中,体温变化始终控制在0.1°C以内。)”可知,从第四段可以推断出鲨鱼在深海中保持恒定的体温。 【49题详解】 细节理解题。根据倒数第二段“The team believes that hammerhead sharks close their gills and mouths as they dive. They shut off their oxygen intake and prevent their body heat from escaping into the ocean.(该研究团队认为,双髻鲨下潜时会闭合鳃和嘴巴。它们停止摄入氧气,避免自身体内热量散失到海水中。)”可知,这些深潜鲨鱼在深海中使用的技巧是它们进行“憋气”潜水。 【50题详解】 主旨大意题。通读全文,尤其是倒数第二段“The team believes that hammerhead sharks close their gills and mouths as they dive. They shut off their oxygen intake and prevent their body heat from escaping into the ocean. This strategy would allow them to stay warm as they hunt for food. The drop in temperature during the final part was likely due to the sharks opening their gills to breathe again as they neared comfortable water.(研究团队认为,双髻鲨下潜时会闭合鳃和嘴巴。它们停止摄入氧气,阻止体内热量散失到海水中。这套生存策略能让它们捕猎时保持体温。而最后阶段的体温下降,很可能是因为鲨鱼接近温度适宜的水域时,重新张开鳃开始呼吸。)”和最后一段“The study makes this shark the first deep-diving fish known to do this trick.(该研究发现,这种鲨鱼是目前已知第一种拥有该特殊本领的深潜鱼类。)”可知,本文主要讲的是科学家研究路氏双髻鲨如何在深海低温环境下保住体温、存活捕猎,揭示了它闭鳃闭嘴锁热的独特本领,因此最恰当的标题是D选项“Unusual survival: hammerhead sharks’ deep-sea diving strategy.(非同寻常的生存之道:双髻鲨的深海下潜策略)”。 D Every year, thousands of teenagers participate in programs at their local art museums. But do any of them remember their time at museum events later in life? A new report suggests that the answer is yes — and finds that arts-based museum programs are applauded for changing the course of alumni’s (毕业生的) lives, even years after the fact. The Whitney Museum of American Art, the Walker Art Center and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles recently asked researchers to conduct a study to find out how effective their teen art programs really are. They involved over 300 former participants of four programs for teens that have been in existence since the 1990s. Alumni, whose current ages range from 18 to 36, were invited to find out how they viewed their participation years after the fact. Among the alumni surveyed, 75 percent of them admitted that the teen art program experience had the most favorable influence on their lives, outperforming the effects brought by family, school and local communities. Nearly 55 percent rated it as one of the most memorable experiences they had ever had, regardless of age. Additionally, two-thirds said they were often in situations where their exposure to museum-related experiences positively affected their actions or thoughts. It turns out that participating in art programs also helps keep teens keen on culture even after they reach adulthood; ninety-six percent of participants had paid a visit to an art museum within the last two years, and 58 percent have made more than five such trips during the same period. Thirty-two percent of alumni now pursue careers within the artistic field as adults. Though the study is the first of its kind to explore the impact of teen-specific art programs in museums, it reflects other research on the important benefits of engaging with the arts. A decade of surveys by the National Endowment for the Arts found that the childhood experience with the arts is significantly connected with people’s income and educational achievements as adults. Other studies have linked arts education to everything from lower dropout rates to improvement in critical thinking skills. 51. What is the main function of paragraph 1? A. To make a comparison. B. To propose a definition. C. To draw a conclusion. D. To present the subject. 52. Why were the researchers asked to carry out the study? A. To find out the course of alumni’s lives. B. To introduce the information of art museums. C. To explore the impact of teen art programs. D. To invite people to engage in the art programs. 53. What do the figures in Paragraph 3 show? A. Family and school have a greater influence on young people. B. Museum-based art programs for teens turn out to be beneficial. C. Many teens tend to overlook the great value of art programs. D. Most experiences in museums are dull for today’s teens. 54. What does Paragraph 4 tell us about art programs? A. They are intended to attract more grown-ups. B. They are designed to support art museums. C. They cultivate adults who are culturally aware. D. They provide many job opportunities for adults. 55. What do the studies mentioned in the last paragraph have in common? A. All reflect the positive value of art education. B. All suggest the need to improve museum programs. C. All show the growing popularity of art programs. D. All focus on the link between art and education. 【答案】51. D 52. C 53. B 54. C 55. Wang was born with cerebral palsy (脑瘫) in Jiangsu Province in 1989. Restricted to a wheelchair as she began to grow up, she even has difficulty eating and bathing. However, Wang and her parents have stayed roseate throughout. Since childhood, Wang’s parents have been telling her to regard herself as a normal person even if she is physically disabled. She practiced performing daily activities repeatedly. With her parents’ help, she learned to live with her physical disability and aimed to be an out-standing writer. Before the age of 17, Wang completed nine years of compulsory education and acquired much literary knowledge. With the encouragement of her teacher, she became more determined to pursue her dream of writing. Literature has become a medium for her to communicate with the world. Sitting in a wheelchair, Wang pursues her dream in her own way. Though she only has one movable finger on her right hand, she has managed to write eight books with a total of more than a million words. “For me, writing is not a tool to make a living, but my necessary life mode. Only when I am involved in writing can I feel complete.” she stressed. Wang hopes that every disabled person can live without discrimination. “The sense of value and dignity comes from the efforts of the disabled themselves, as well as from social recognition, acceptance and equal treatment.” She also hopes that readers can experience the strength of life, the warmth of family and the beauty of the times when they are reading her works. Jidi Majia, Vice Chairman of the China Writers Association commented, “Although Wang Yi has a disability, the spirit shown in her works is positive. I choose this theme for two reasons. Firstly, AI has profoundly transformed modern society and becomes an unavoidable topic of global conversation. In addition, exploring it in English bridges language study with cutting-edge technology, motivating us to master professional expressions while keeping pace with the times. Two well-designed activities will be carried out to enrich our learning experience. First, an English mini-lecture will be presented to systematically explain basic AI knowledge and application such as 3D printing and smart robots. Second, a group presentation competition will be held, where team members cooperate to research and introduce some creative tech inventions in fluent and standard English. These events combine language practice with scientific thinking. Not only will we polish our oral English, but we will also cultivate innovative thinking. 【解析】 【导语】题目要求学生从三个主题中任选其一,为学校的英语活动周撰写一份英文活动方案,需首先点明所选主题,陈述选择理由,再介绍围绕该主题的特色活动,最后简述本次活动周的意义。 【详解】1. 词汇积累 选择:choose→pick/opt for 无法回避的:unavoidable→ineluctable/inescapable 实施:carry out→conduct/implement 解释:explain→clarify/explicate 2. 句式拓展 简单句变复合句 原句:Firstly, AI has profoundly transformed modern society and becomes an unavoidable topic of global conversation. 拓展句:Firstly, AI, which has profoundly transformed modern society, becomes an unavoidable topic of global conversation. 【点睛】[高分句型1] Second, a group presentation competition will be held, where team members cooperate to research and introduce some creative tech inventions in fluent and standard English. They take their children to the health center for check-ups, issue birth certificates for their children and send their children to school. They also reduce violence and use positive discipline instead.” Dim Nang Lao says she is grateful for the opportunity to learn about positive parenting and apply it in her daily life. “I hope that more parents in our country can receive this training and benefit from it as I do,” she adds. 41. What can we learn about many parents in Dim Nang Lao’s village? A. They cared little about their kids’ physical health. B. They got married and had children at an old age. C. They couldn’t make a living through farm work. D. They didn’t know how to care for their kids well. 42. What is the main goal of the Nurturing Care Parenting training? A. To increase parents’ income through farm work. B. To help children achieve a healthy and promising start in life. C. To encourage children to focus on early education independently. D. To teach parents stricter methods of disciplining their children. 43. What does Dim Nang Lao focus on in paragraph 3? A. What she learned from her son. B. Her son’s change over the time. C. What she gained from the training. D. The goal of the parenting program. 44. Why is Ang Chenda mentioned in the text? A. To speak highly of Nurturing Care Parenting. B. To introduce a harmonious parent-child relationship. C. To show the popularity of the training outside villages. D. To highlight the positive influence of parenting on kids. 45. What does Dim Nang Lao expect of Nurturing Care Parenting? A. It will criticize traditional parenting. B. It will be received extensively. C. It will offer jobs to more parents. D. It will be well obtained worldwild. C Diving rapidly to ocean depths of 800 meters or deeper several times a night, scalloped hammerhead sharks (路氏双髻鲨) search the ocean floor for food. D Every year, thousands of teenagers participate in programs at their local art museums. 第Ⅱ卷:非选择题(共45分) 第四部分:单词拼写 根据中文意思和首字母提示,用单词的正确形式完成句子(共10小题;每小题1分,满分10分) 56.
