Unit 5 First Aid 急救 单元阅读精练 “I was dead for 67 minutes. It’s a miracle that I’m here today.” Those are the words of Bruce Richardson, who survived a heart attack in July 2016 thanks to the quick actions of his friends and the first responders who refused to give up. It was an early summer morning, a typical Saturday. Bruce volunteered as usual in the community center. “I had no symptoms that there was any problem. It was a completely normal morning; I felt fine,” he shared. “I was visiting with friends. Then, I passed out. I know what happened next from what others have told me.” Bruce’s friend, Jack, had learned how to perform CPR, and he quickly began chest presses. Another friend, Doug, dialed 911 and the operator walked him through chest presses until the first responders arrived. Once the ambulance arrived, the emergency medical workers tried five times to restart Bruce’s heart with an AED.By this time, Bruce had been without a heartbeat for over 30 minutes, often when time of death is called. On the phone with an emergency room doctor, one of the emergency medical workers was instructed to try two AEDs simultaneously (同时地). It worked; Bruce’s heart began to beat again. Incredibly, he awoke the next day and was able to communicate. After a week, Bruce made a full recovery and left the hospital. Since Bruce’s cardiac arrest, he has been able to return to a normal life with some differences. He now is a passionate CPR advocate. He has shared his story in the news, and last year he was a guest speaker at the Association’s Indianapolis Heart & Stroke Ball to encourage people to spread the message of CPR. Finally, Bruce shared his story in a video now being used to promote American Heart Association Hands-Only CPR machines set up around the country. The Saint Lukas is one of five government-sponsored medical trains that travel to remote towns in central and eastern Russia. Each stop lasts an average of two days, and during that time the doctors and nurses on board provide rural (乡村) populations with basic medical care, X-ray scans and prescriptions. “People started queuing to make an appointment early in the morning,” says Emile Ducke, a German photographer who traveled with the staff of the Saint Lukas for a two-week trip in November through the vast regions (区域) of Krasnoyarsk and Khakassia. Russia’s public health care service has been in serious need of modernization. The government has struggled to come up with measures to address the problem, particularly in the poorer, rural areas east of the Volga River, including arranging doctor’s appointments by video chat and expanding financial aid programs to motivate doctors to practice medicine in remote parts of the country like Krasnoyarsk. The annual arrival of the Saint Lukas is another attempt to improve the situation. For 10 months every year, the train stops at about eight stations over two weeks, before returning to the regional capital to refuel and restock (补给). Then it starts all over again the next month. Most stations wait about a year between visits. Doctors see up to 150 patients every day. The train’s equipment allows for basic checkups. “I was very impressed by the doctors and their assistants working and living in such little space but still staying focused and very concerned,” says Ducke. “They were the best chance for many rural people to get the treatment they want. ” 1.How is the Saint Lukas different from other trains? A.It runs across countries. B.It reserves seats for the seniors. C.It functions as a hospital. D.It travels along a river. 2.What can we infer from paragraph 3 about Krasnoyarsk? A.It is heavily populated. B.It offers training for doctors. C.It is a modern city. D.It needs medical aid. 3.How long can the Saint Lukas work with one supply? A.About a year. B.About ten months. C.About two months. D.About two weeks. 4.What is Ducke’s attitude toward the Saint Lukas’ services? A.Appreciative. B.Doubtful C.Ambiguous. D.Cautious. 1.细节理解题,根据文章第一段“The Saint Lukas is one of five government-sponsored medical trains that travel to remote towns in central and eastern Russia. Each stop lasts an average of two days, and during that time the doctors and nurses on board provide rural(乡村)populations with basic medical care, X-ray scans and prescriptions. (圣卢卡斯号是五列政府资助的医疗列车之一,前往俄罗斯中部和东部的偏远城镇。每一站平均停留两天,在此期间,船上的医生和护士为农村人口提供基本医疗服务、X光扫描和处方。)”可知,圣卢卡斯号与其他火车的不同之处在于它是政府资助的医疗火车,充当医院。故选C。 2.推理判断题,第三段提到“Russia’s public health care service has been in serious need of modernization. The government has struggled to come up with measures to address the problem, particularly in the poorer, rural areas east of the Volga River, including arranging doctor's appointments by video chat and expanding financial aid programs to motivate doctors to practice medicine in remote parts of the country like Krasnoyarsk. Once, while carrying her baby brother, she tripped and fell. Quick-thinking, she landed on her knee, injuring herself but protecting his head. “He was fine,” she said, “I didn’t want him to have a concussion (脑震荡).” It also makes sense why she learned CPR in Girl Scouts (女童子军). Vada’s parents, Clint and Amanda, are separated but remain close friends. One day, Vada went to visit Clint, who was gardening. When he went inside, his left arm and chest began hurting. “These are signs of a heart attack,” he told Vada. He knew because he’d looked them up. Then he went to take a shower. “Maybe that’ll help.” Even after his hot shower, Clint felt freezing cold. He lay on the sofa and Vada brought him the covers. Soon, he began sweating. Vada knew this sudden body temperature swing was a bad sign. Having left her phone at her mom’s, she put her dad’s in her pocket in case she needed to call for help. When Clint went to the bathroom, Vada followed and waited outside. Suddenly, she heard a heavy crash. Nervous, she rushed in and saw him struggling to breathe on the floor, she forced herself to remain calm and called 911. She told the 911 operator she knew CPR and started performing it on her father under guidance. Some time later, the medical team arrived and took over. Vada called Amanda, and she just couldn’t hold back her feelings anymore and cried out loud. When Amanda arrived, one of the rescuers said, “Vada has already done the life-saving part and we’re taking it from there to do everything we can to help him.” Finally, Clint woke up. Amanda shared the news on Facebook, and a Girl Scouts leader presented 11-year-old Vada with the Medal of Honor, one of the organization’s highest honors. 1.Why did Vada go to learn CPR in Girl Scouts? A.She wanted to help others. B.She hoped to get an honor there. C.She was into medical knowledge. D.She was sent there by her parents. 2.What did Vada do after finding Clint feeling unwell? A.She called her mom for help. B.She helped to keep him warm. C.She told him to take a shower. D.She took his body temperature. 3.Which of the following can best describe Vada? A.Skilled but careless. B.Creative and heroic. C.Organized but impatient. D.Caring and cool-headed. 4.What did the rescuer’s words show in paragraph 5? A.Vada did a great job with CPR. B.Clint would wake up soon. C.Clint required another follow-up visit. D.Vada needed to learn more about first aid. 【答案】1.A 2.B 3.D 4.A 【导语】本文讲述十一岁女孩Vada从小乐于助人,还在女童子军学会心肺复苏。某天父亲Clint突发心脏病,Vada及时拨打急救电话,并在指导下为父亲实施心肺复苏,为抢救赢得宝贵时间。 1.细节理解题。根据首段“Vada has always enjoyed taking care of others since she was very young…It also makes sense why she learned CPR in Girl Scouts.(Vada从小就喜欢照顾他人……这也解释了她为什么要在女童子军学习心肺复苏)”可知,她学习心肺复苏是出于想要帮助他人。 2.细节理解题。根据第三段“He lay on the sofa and Vada brought him the covers.(他躺在沙发上,Vada给他拿来被子保暖)”可知,发现父亲身体不适后,她帮忙为父亲保暖。 3.推理判断题。根据第一段“Vada has always enjoyed taking care of others since she was very young.(Vada自幼就一直乐于照顾他人。)”和第四段“Nervous, she rushed in and saw him struggling to breathe on the floor, she forced herself to remain calm and called 93.(她感到很紧张,急忙冲了进去,看到他在地板上艰难地呼吸着,她强迫自己保持冷静,并拨打了93。)”等内容可知,Vada从小照顾他人、危急时刻主动救助父亲,体现她心地善良乐于助人;事发时她保持冷静、沉着拨打急救电话并实施急救,体现她头脑冷静。D项caring and cool-headed符合人物形象。 4.推理判断题。根据第五段救援人员所说“Vada has already done the life-saving part and we’re taking it from there to do everything we can to help him.(救命的关键部分Vada已经完成,我们接手后续救治)”可知,这句话表明Vada的心肺复苏操作起到了关键作用,做得非常出色。 Passage 2 (25-26高二下·山东·期中)It was a breezy afternoon in late September at Oakwood High School. The boys on the track team were cooling down after a long run, chatting and stretching. Sixteen-year-old Jason, who had just transferred to the school a few weeks prior, sat quietly on the bench, watching his teammate Leo rest. They weren’t close yet, as Jason was naturally shy. Suddenly, Leo started coughing violently. He dropped his water bottle and held his throat. His face began to turn pale, and then a scary shade of blue. He wasn’t making any sound. “He’s choking!” someone yelled. The team froze in panic. It was clear Leo didn’t have much time. Choking blocks the airway, preventing oxygen from reaching the lungs and brain. Without immediate intervention, it can lead to unconsciousness and even death within minutes. Jason’s heart pounded. He had attended a junior lifeguard camp over the summer where he learned the Heimlich maneuver (海姆立克急救法) — a first-aid procedure used to treat airway obstructions. He had never practiced it on a real person, but seeing Leo’s desperate eyes, Jason knew he had no choice. Rushing behind Leo, Jason wrapped his arms around his teammate’s waist, made a fist, and gave Leo a few quick, hard upward pushes on his stomach. It was physically demanding, but Jason pushed through his fear. On the fourth push, a large chunk of a protein bar flew out of Leo’s mouth. Leo collapsed onto the grass, taking deep, greedy breaths of air. “I thought I was a goner,” Leo recalled later. “Jason is my hero. He didn’t even hesitate.” Today, the two are best friends. The incident changed Jason, too. “I used to doubt myself a lot,” Jason says. “Now I know I can step up when it matters. I’m actually looking into medical schools for the future.” 1.What happened to Leo after the long run? A.He suffered a sudden heart failure. B.He choked on a piece of food. C.He hurt his throat accidentally. D.He drank too much cold water. 2.Why did Jason decide to perform first aid on Leo? A.The coach ordered him to do so. B.He wanted to make friends with Leo. C.He had an advanced certificate in medical care. D.He realized Leo was in a life-threatening situation. 3.Which of the following words can best describe Jason? A.Brave and decisive. B.Careful and patient. C.Professional and generous. D.Enthusiastic and humorous. 4.What impact did the incident have on Jason? A.He became the captain of the track team. B.He decided to work as a junior lifeguard. C.He realized the importance of physical training. D.He gained confidence and found a career goal. 【答案】1.B 2.D 3.A 4.D 【导语】文章主要讲述了杰森在关键时刻用海姆立克急救法救助窒息的队友利奥,并因此获得自信和找到未来职业目标的故事。 1.推理判断题。根据第三段中“He’s choking!(他噎住了!)”、第四段中“Choking blocks the airway, preventing oxygen from reaching the lungs and brain.(窒息会阻塞气道,阻止氧气到达肺部和大脑。)”以及第六段中“On the fourth push, a large chunk of a protein bar flew out of Leo’s mouth.(第四次推压时,一大块蛋白棒从利奥嘴里飞了出来。)”可知,利奥在长跑后被一块食物噎住了。 2.细节理解题。根据第三段中“It was clear Leo didn’t have much time.(很明显,利奥的时间不多了。)”以及第五段中“He had never practiced it on a real person, but seeing Leo’s desperate eyes, Jason knew he had no choice.(他从未在真人身上练习过,但看到利奥绝望的眼神,杰森知道自己别无选择。)”可知,杰森决定对利奥实施急救是因为他意识到利奥处于危及生命的境地。 3.推理判断题。根据第五段中“He had never practiced it on a real person, but seeing Leo’s desperate eyes, Jason knew he had no choice.((他从未在真人身上练习过,但看到利奥绝望的眼神,杰森知道自己别无选择。)”以及第六段中“Rushing behind Leo, Jason wrapped his arms around his teammate’s waist, made a fist, and gave Leo a few quick, hard upward pushes on his stomach.(杰森冲到利奥身后,双臂抱住队友的腰,握紧拳头,快速用力地向上推利奥的肚子几下。)”可知,杰森在看到利奥窒息时,没有犹豫,立即采取行动,这表明他勇敢且果断。 4.推理判断题。根据最后一段中““I used to doubt myself a lot,” Jason says. “Now I know I can step up when it matters. I’m actually looking into medical schools for the future.”(“我过去常常怀疑自己,”杰森说。“现在我知道在关键时刻我可以站出来。实际上我正在考虑未来的医学院。”)”可知,这次事件让杰森获得了自信,并找到了未来的职业目标。 Passage 3 (25-26高二上·广东江门·期末)Tuan Pham, a 47-year-old man, was feeling strong as he approached the 12-mile mark of the Long Beach Half Marathon. It was his seventh race, and he looked forward to celebrating at the finish line with his teenage son, who had run ahead. Suddenly, after taking another step or two, he collapsed, his memory cutting off entirely. He lay motionless on the ground, his heart having stopped completely. He had no pulse and wasn’t breathing. Three blocked arteries (动脉) had caused a sudden cardiac arrest (心脏骤停) , leaving him clinically dead. According to the American Heart Association, the survival rate for an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest is less than 12%. Pham’s situation seemed hopeless, and his only chance relied on a miracle — like a heart doctor happening to be nearby. At that very moment, Dr. Ryan Chiu, a heart doctor from a nearby hospital, happened to be just a few feet away. He had finished a meal and was leaving a restaurant when his friend asked him to stay a few minutes for the ocean view. This small delay proved to be fateful. Seeing Pham fall, Dr. Chiu rushed over, recognized the emergency, and immediately began performing chest compressions. Dr. Chiu handled the crisis well. He asked a bystander to continue compressions while calling his hospital to prepare an operating room. Soon, an ambulance took Pham to the hospital, with Dr. Chiu driving behind. The surgery to clear the blocked arteries was a total success. Pham not only survived but fully recovered — he even planned to return to finish the last two miles. Reflecting on the incredible series of events, Pham was filled with amazement. “I can’t believe the first guy to see me fall and give me help was a cardiac surgeon,” he said. “What are the odds?” It was the perfect timing — a friend’s casual suggestion, the surgeon’s delayed leave, and his immediate presence — that turned a near tragedy into a miraculous survival story. 1.What happened to Tuan Pham during the marathon? A.He fell and got his leg injured. B.He lost his memory after the race. C.He suffered a sudden heart failure. D.He felt too tired to finish the last two miles. 2.Why does the author mention “less than 12%” in paragraph 2? A.To stress the urgency of Pham’s situation. B.To show the commonness of heart diseases. C.To explain the importance of daily exercise. D.To criticize the slow response of ambulances. 3.What directly caused Dr. Chiu to be at the scene at the right time? A.He was following the ambulance. B.He was participating in the marathon. C.A friend asked him to stay to see the view. D.A bystander called him for immediate help. 4.What is the best title for the passage? A.A Desperate Race. B.A Timely Rescue. C.A Surgeon’s Quick Aid. D.A Marathon Misfortune. 【答案】1.C 2.A 3.C 4.B 【导语】本文是一篇记叙文。文章讲述了47岁的Tuan Pham在参加半程马拉松时突发心脏骤停,恰好被附近的一位心脏外科医生及时救治,最终奇迹般生还的故事。 1.细节理解题。根据第一段中“Suddenly, after taking another step or two, he collapsed, his memory cutting off entirely. He lay motionless on the ground, his heart having stopped completely. (突然,又走了一两步后,他倒下了,记忆完全中断。他一动不动地躺在地上,心脏完全停止了跳动)”以及第二段中“Three blocked arteries (动脉) had caused a sudden cardiac arrest (心脏骤停) (三条堵塞的动脉导致了突发性心脏骤停)”可知,Tuan Pham在马拉松比赛中突发心脏骤停。故选C项。 2.推理判断题。根据第二段中“According to the American Heart Association, the survival rate for an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest is less than 12%. Pham’s situation seemed hopeless (据美国心脏协会称,院外心脏骤停的存活率低于12%。Pham的情况似乎毫无希望)”可知,作者提到“低于12%”是为了强调Pham当时情况的危急与紧迫。故选A项。 3.细节理解题。根据第三段中“He had finished a meal and was leaving a restaurant when his friend asked him to stay a few minutes for the ocean view. This small delay proved to be fateful. (他刚吃完饭正要离开餐厅,这时他的朋友让他多待几分钟看看海景。这短暂的耽搁后来被证明是决定性的)”可知,是一位朋友建议他留下来看风景,直接导致了Chiu医生恰好在事发现场。故选C项。 4.主旨大意题。通读全文,结合第一段中“Suddenly, after taking another step or two, he collapsed (突然,又走了一两步后,他倒下了)”、第三段中“Seeing Pham fall, Dr. Chiu rushed over, recognized the emergency, and immediately began performing chest compressions. (看到Pham倒下,Chiu医生冲了过去,意识到情况紧急,立即开始进行胸外按压)”和最后一段中“It was the perfect timing — a friend’s casual suggestion, the surgeon’s delayed leave, and his immediate presence — that turned a near tragedy into a miraculous survival story. (正是这完美的时机——朋友随意的建议、外科医生延迟的离开以及他的即时出现——将一场近乎悲剧的事件变成了一个奇迹般的生还故事)”可知,文章主要讲述了一次发生在马拉松比赛中的及时救援。故B项“A Timely Rescue (一次及时的救援)”能概括文章内容,最适合做文章标题。故选B项。 Passage 4 (25-26高二上·贵州毕节·期末)Doctors in hospital emergency rooms often see accidental poisonings. A scared parent arrives with a child who swallowed a cleaning liquid. Or perhaps the harmful substance is a medicine. Or it might be a chemical product meant to kill insects. These are common causes of accidental poisoning. In cases like this, seek medical help as soon as possible. Save the container of whatever caused the poisoning. And look on the container for information about anything that stops the effects of the poison. Save anything expelled from the mouth of the victim. That way, doctors can examine it. Millions of people know a way to save a person who is choking on something trapped in the throat. The method is commonly known as the Heimlich maneuver or abdominal thrusts, which you can do by getting directly behind a sitting or standing person. Put your arms around the victim’s waist. Close one hand to form a ball. Place it over the upper part of the stomach, below the ribs: Place the other hand on top. Then push forcefully inward and upward. Repeat the abdominal thrusts until the object is expelled from the mouth. For someone who is pregnant or very fat, place your hands a little higher than with normal abdominal thrusts. Red Cross experts say taking these steps can save many lives. But they also warn that abdominal thrusts are not for people who have almost drowned. They say use of the method could be a barrier to restart breathing in the victim. Abdominal thrusts should be used only in cases where a near-drowning victim is choking on an object. To learn more about first aid, ask a hospital or an organization like Red Cross for information. There may be training classes offered in your area. 1.According to the first paragraph, which of the following is NOT the common cause of accidental poisonings? A.Poisonous insects. B.A cleaning liquid. C.A harmful medicine. D.Dangerous pesticide. 2.The underlined word “expelled” in Paragraph 2 can be replaced by “__________”. A.going away B.taking up C.coming out D.getting down 3.Why are abdominal thrusts not for people who have almost drowned? A.Because it is no need to do so. B.Because it is hard to perform. C.Because people are unwilling to attempt rescue efforts. D.Because it could prevent the victim getting breath again. 4.What is the writer’s purpose of writing this text? A.To promote medical research. B.To share some knowledge about first aid. C.To show how to perform abdominal thrusts. D.To help people deal with accidental poisoning. 【答案】1.A 2.C 3.D 4.B 【导语】本文是一篇说明文。文章主要围绕急救知识展开,介绍了意外中毒和异物卡喉等紧急情况的处理方法,还提及了获取更多急救知识的途径。 1.细节理解题。根据第一段“A scared parent arrives with a child who swallowed a cleaning liquid. Or perhaps the harmful substance is a medicine. Or it might be a chemical product meant to kill insects. (一位惊慌失措的家长带着一个吞下清洁液的孩子赶来。或者有害物质是一种药物。或者它可能是一种用来杀虫的化学产品。)”可知,清洁液、有害药物、危险的杀虫剂都是意外中毒的常见原因,而有毒昆虫不是。故选A项。 2.词句意猜测题。根据第二段“Save anything expelled from the mouth of the victim. That way, doctors can examine it. (保存从受害者口中______的任何东西。这样,医生就可以检查它。)”可知,医生要检查从受害者口中出来的东西,所以“expelled”意思是“出来,排出”,与“coming out”意思相近。A. going away离开;B. taking up占据;C. coming out出来;D. getting down下来。故选C项。 3.细节理解题。根据第四段“But they also warn that abdominal thrusts are not for people who have almost drowned. They say use of the method could be a barrier to restart breathing in the victim. Passage 5 (25-26高二下·云南昆明·期中)How to Provide First Aid for a Broken Bone Broken bones are serious injuries that need immediate medical care. Sometimes, getting timely first aid from trained health professionals is not always possible. 1 . Check the injured area. If you’re in an emergency and there are no medical people around, quickly check how bad the injury is. If someone falls or has an accident and feels a lot of pain, they might have a broken bone. 2 . If you think the head, back, or pelvis (骨盆) is broken, don’t move the person. You need an X-ray to be certain. For arms, legs, fingers, toes, or noses, a broken bone usually looks bent or out of shape. 3 If you think the injury is serious and might be a broken bone, call 911 right away. Get an ambulance coming as fast as you can. First aid can help, but it’s not the same as having a doctor or nurse. If you’re near a hospital and you’re sure the injury isn’t life-threatening and is just in an arm or leg, you could drive the person there instead. Keep calm and watch for signs of shock. Breaking a bone is very painful. Fear, panic, and shock are all common reactions, but they can have negative consequences for the body, so they must be controlled. As you wait for help, cover the person to keep him warm and give him some water. 4 . Keep the broken bone still. After the injured person is stable, try to keep the broken bone still if you have to wait for help. This can reduce pain and protect the bone from more damage. 5 . Improperly moving broken bones can cause more harm. Splints (夹板) only work for arms and legs, not for bones in the pelvis or the body trunk. A.Give first aid before the ambulance arrives. B.Call for emergency help. C.Therefore, knowing basic first aid for broken bones is important. D.Keep talking to him to distract him from focusing on his injury. E.the more severe the fracture (骨折) is, the more pain it causes. F.Don’t try to fix the bone if you don’t know how. G.But pain alone isn’t enough to be sure. 【答案】1.C 2.G 3.B 4.D 5.F 【导语】本文介绍骨折急救方法:先检查伤情、立刻呼救、安抚伤者防休克、固定伤处。 1.根据上文“Broken bones are serious injuries that need immediate medical care. Sometimes, getting timely first aid from trained health professionals is not always possible.(骨折是严重的损伤,需要立即接受医疗救治。有时,无法及时获得受过卫生专业训练人员的急救处理)”可知,第一段引出主题,前文提到有时候无法及时获得专业医护人员的急救,因此C选项“因此,了解骨折的基础急救知识十分重要”符合逻辑,衔接上文,引出下文具体方法。 2.根据上文“If you’re in an emergency and there are no medical people around, quickly check how bad the injury is. If someone falls or has an accident and feels a lot of pain, they might have a broken bone.(如果你遇到紧急情况,周围没有医护人员,请迅速检查伤情的严重程度。如果有人摔倒或发生意外后感到剧烈疼痛,可能已经骨折了)”以及后文“If you think the head, back, or pelvis (骨盆) is broken, don’t move the person. You need an X-ray to be certain. For arms, legs, fingers, toes, or noses, a broken bone usually looks bent or out of shape.(如果怀疑头部、背部或骨盆骨折,请不要移动伤者。必须通过X光检查才能确定。对于手臂、腿部、手指、脚趾或鼻子,骨折通常表现为弯曲或形状异常)”可知,前文提到受伤剧痛可能是骨折,后文提到需要X光才能确诊,G选项“但只凭疼痛无法确定骨折”承上启下,符合语境。 3.根据后文“If you think the injury is serious and might be a broken bone, call 911 right away. Get an ambulance coming as fast as you can. First aid can help, but it’s not the same as having a doctor or nurse. If you’re near a hospital and you’re sure the injury isn’t life-threatening and is just in an arm or leg, you could drive the person there instead.(如果你认为伤势严重,可能是骨折,请立即拨打911。尽快让救护车赶到现场。急救措施可以提供帮助,但无法替代医生或护士的治疗。如果你在医院附近,并且确定伤情不危及生命,只是手臂或腿部受伤,可以自行驾车送人去医院)”可知,空后整段内容围绕拨打急救电话、呼叫救护车送医展开,B选项“呼叫紧急救援”可作为该段的核心小标题,符合要求。 4.根据上文“Breaking a bone is very painful. Fear, panic, and shock are all common reactions, but they can have negative consequences for the body, so they must be controlled. As you wait for help, cover the person to keep him warm and give him some water.(骨折会非常疼痛。恐惧、惊慌和休克都是常见的反应,但这些反应可能对身体造成不良影响,因此必须加以控制。等待救援时,应为伤者盖上衣物以保暖,并给予少量饮水)”可知,该段讲解缓解休克恐慌,前文提到等待救援时要给伤者保暖、喂水,D选项“不断和伤者说话,帮他转移对伤势的注意力”符合缓解恐慌情绪的逻辑,衔接自然。 5.根据上文“After the injured person is stable, try to keep the broken bone still if you have to wait for help. This can reduce pain and protect the bone from more damage.(伤者情况稳定后,如果需要等待救援,请尽量保持骨折部位不动。这样可以减轻疼痛,并防止骨骼进一步受损)”以及后文“Improperly moving broken bones can cause more harm. Splints (夹板) only work for arms and legs, not for bones in the pelvis or the body trunk.(不当地移动骨折的骨头可能会造成更大的伤害。夹板仅适用于手臂和腿部,不适用于骨盆或躯干部位的骨骼)”可知,该段讲解保持骨折部位固定,后文提到不当移动会造成更多伤害,F选项“如果你不懂正确方法,不要尝试复位骨折”符合语境,衔接下文。 Passage 6 (25-26高二下·福建福州·期中)Witnessing someone choking is very terrifying, but knowing the Heimlich maneuver can save lives. Choking usually occurs when food gets stuck, blocking breathing. 1 However, here are some steps to perform this life-saving first aid. 2 If the person can still speak or breathe a little, it means the airway is not fully blocked. In this case, let them cough to remove the object. But if they can’t speak or breathe at all, their lips or fingernails may turn blue — this means the airway is completely blocked. After figuring out the situation, ask the person, “Are you choking?” If they can answer you, do not try to hit them on the back hard, comfort them and encourage coughing. 3 Keep watching them in case the situation gets worse. If the person is severely choking, call emergency service at once. Don’t waste time waiting for help to arrive; you need to stay calm and act fast to start first aid. Keeping a clear and calm mind will help you do the right thing to help them breathe again. 4 The Heimlich maneuver is only for adults and children over 1 year old. Stand behind the victim, wrap your arms around their waist, and lean them forward. Make a fist with one hand and place it above their stomach, then hold the fist firmly with your other hand. 5 Push again and again until the object is forced out. In short, knowing how to do the Heimlich maneuver properly can make a real difference in saving a life. A.First, check if the person is really choking. B.This helps avoid pushing the object deeper. C.Every second counts in such an emergency. D.Choking often happens during family meals. E.Many people don’t know how to deal with it. F.Children under 1 should never try this method. G.Push inward and upward quickly in one motion. 3.根据上文“If they can answer you, do not try to hit them on the back hard, comfort them and encourage coughing.(如果他们能回答你,不要用力拍打他们的背部,安慰他们并鼓励他们咳嗽)”可知,不要用力拍打他们的背部是为了避免将物体推得更深,所以选项B“这有助于避免将异物推得更深”符合语境。 4.根据上文“Keeping a clear and calm mind will help you do the right thing to help them breathe again.(保持清醒和冷静的头脑将帮助你做正确的事情来帮助他们再次呼吸)”以及后文“The Heimlich maneuver is only for adults and children over 1 year old.(海姆利克氏急救法只适用于成人和1岁以上的儿童)”可知,第四空应该表示在这种紧急情况下,每一秒都很重要,所以要保持清醒和冷静的头脑,然后才能正确使用海姆利克氏急救法,所以选项C“在这种紧急情况下,每一秒都至关重要”符合语境。 5.根据上文“Make a fist with one hand and place it above their stomach, then hold the fist firmly with your other hand.(用一只手握拳,放在他们的肚子上方,然后用另一只手紧紧握住拳头)”以及后文“Push again and again until the object is forced out.(一次又一次地推,直到物体被挤出)”可知,第五空应该表示一次快速地向内和向上推,然后才能一次又一次地推,直到物体被挤出,所以选项G“以一个连贯的动作迅速向内向上推”符合语境。 Passage 7 (25-26高二下·浙江嘉兴·期末)First aid is especially crucial to people living by the sea, who have to 1 the rising sea levels and limited access to health care. Once, while carrying her baby brother, she tripped and fell. Quick-thinking, she landed on her knee, injuring herself but protecting his head. “He was fine,” she said, “I didn’t want him to have a concussion (脑震荡).” It also makes sense why she learned CPR in Girl Scouts Vada’s parents, Clint and Amanda, are separated but remain close friends. Passage 2 (25-26高二下·山东·期中)It was a breezy afternoon in late September at Oakwood High School. Passage 3 (25-26高二上·广东江门·期末)Tuan Pham, a 47-year-old man, was feeling strong as he approached the 12-mile mark of the Long Beach Half Marathon. Passage 4 (25-26高二上·贵州毕节·期末)Doctors in hospital emergency rooms often see accidental poisonings. Passage 6 (25-26高二下·福建福州·期中)Witnessing someone choking is very terrifying, but knowing the Heimlich maneuver can save lives.
