Wellness marketing has overpraised electrolytes (电解质), with electrolyte drinks referred to as a miracle supplement by influencers and celebrities. But diet scientists stress that they are not a cure-all for health issues. Electrolytes are essential minerals in the human body, like sodium (钠), which plays a key role in brain and muscle function, as well as the whole balance of human body.
To check for electrolyte imbalance, consulting a doctor is the best choice. Mild imbalance may cause dizziness and tiredness, while severe cases can lead to confusion and need medical treatment instead of just electrolyte drinks. Both deficiency and overuse of electrolytes are harmful: too much sodium can raise blood pressure, and overdrinking electrolyte drinks without enough water loss may cause hyponatremia Such drinks are unnecessary for common people daily, for true electrolyte lack is rare among the general population.
Electrolyte water only benefits those with high water loss, such as active people, heavy sweaters, those living in hot climates, or people with certain diseases. Many people mistakenly believe they must take extra electrolytes every day, but this is often a misunderstanding caused by overheated marketing. Exercising for over an hour in hot weather also requires electrolytes. But most people can get enough electrolytes from a balanced daily diet with fruits, vegetables and even meat; fruit juice is also a good source.
Experts say plain water is enough for daily needs for most people. Electrolyte water is just a tool, not a replacement for plain water, and should be used only when the body’s demands are higher. Many electrolyte supplements are high in sugar, which is harmful to health goals. Choose products with a balanced additive of sodium and sugar, avoid artificial sweeteners, and consult a doctor before taking any new supplement.

Passage 1
(25-26高二下·四川宜宾·期末)Dawn breaks over the Pu’er Plateau in southwest China’s Yunnan Province. Martin Visser, 45, is chatting in fluent Mandarin with Hani ethnic farmers in a coffee plantation. “This altitude and soil give the beans a unique taste,” he says. For the former Dutch mechanical engineer, this mountainous region has become both his workplace and home.
Visser’s bond with China took root twenty years ago. A student in Amsterdam then, he fell under the charm of Chinese culture and taught himself to speak Mandarin. “Chinese philosophy, which reflects the harmony of man and nature, has always fascinated me,” he recalls. In 2005, he traveled to Yunnan. The province’s green landscapes, diverse ethnic cultures, and emerging coffee industry captured his heart. “I tasted a cup of local coffee in a village hut — it was rough but full of latency,” he says. With the right techniques, he was sure it could compete with the world’s finest.
What drove Visser to settle and start a business? “China’s open environment and respect for cultural diversity were key,” he explains. He founded Hani Coffee in 2018, blending European roasting techniques with Chinese agricultural wisdom. Government support made his dream workable. “China doesn’t just welcome foreign investors; it nurtures them,” he adds.
Today, Hani Coffee’s products are sold in major Chinese cities and exported to Europe. Visser’s team includes both local farmers and international professionals. He has also established a fair-trade model, ensuring farmers receive 20% higher incomes. “We’re not just selling coffee — we’re building bridges,” he adds. His factory now doubles as a cultural center, where visitors learn about coffee farming and ethnic traditions.
Reflecting on his journey, Visser emphasizes that cultural curiosity was his greatest advantage. “Many foreigners see China as a market, but I see it as a partner,” he says. “The country’s rapid development never sacrifices its cultural roots, and that makes it so attractive for entrepreneurs (创业者). Here, tradition and innovation coexist perfectly.”

D.Diverse cultures shape a business model.
Passage 2
(25-26高二下·宁夏银川·期末)It’s not what you would consider to be a healthy drink. But research suggests drinking beer can actually lower your blood pressure and reduce your weight. Xanthohumol (黄腐酚), contained in beer, could reduce damage done by high-fat diets, scientists claim. Such diets lead to a series of conditions including obesity, high blood pressure and blood sugar. But trials on mice fed with high-fat foods showed that giving them beer could curb some of the conditions.
Figures suggest a quarter of adults in the UK suffer from metabolic syndrome (代谢综合征), and around 35 percent of Americans are believed to have it. It puts you at greater risk of developing heart disease — the world’s leading killer — but it can be changed by making healthy lifestyle changes. Scientists at Oregon State University made the conclusion after testing xanthohumol (XN) on obese mice. The findings back up previous research that has suggested the compounds could be used in future to treat metabolic syndrome.
And they offer fresh hope for fighting metabolic syndrome, because they cause no potential side effects unlike compounds under current tests. Xanthohumol is known to transform into 8-PN, and researchers have long been criticized for the side effects. Professor Fred Stevens, lead author, said, “If someone took XN over longer periods of time, it could lead to side effects, potentially.”
But Professor Stevens said they came across the “solution to the problem” by adding water to XN — which stopped the creation of 8-PN. And various tests on mice, published in the journal Scientific Reports, showed the derivatives worked but caused no harm. High-fat diets also lead to memory loss — but the compounds allowed mice to keep their learning, the researchers found.
1.What does the research mentioned in the first paragraph find?
A.Beer is in a way good for people’s health.
B.Beer is totally harmful to people’s health.
C.High-fat diets are very popular with people.
D.High-fat diets can lower people’s blood pressure.
2.What does the underlined word “curb” in the first paragraph probably mean?
A.Increase. B.Control. C.Cause. D.Continue.
3.How did scientists at Oregon State University draw their conclusion?
A.They studied some normal mice.
B.They compared the results of different studies.
C.They observed some patients with heart disease.
D.They conducted tests on some overweight mice.
4.Which of the following can solve the side effects of XN?
A.Keeping learning. B.Doing more tests on mice.
C.Adding some water to XN. D.Drinking more beer if possible.
Passage 3
(25-26高二下·福建龙岩·期末)Dede Gause, known professionally as “Chef Dede” of DDEggs & More, stood in the kitchen for a cooking demonstration centered on soul food that turned into something closer to a lesson in culture and community. Originating from the kitchens of enslaved (被奴役的) Africans, soul food is a cuisine defined by its deep flavors, resourcefulness, and lasting cultural significance.
This event was designed to connect students with Rochester’s local food scene while highlighting its cultural significance. As students gathered around the demonstration, asked questions, and later shared a meal, the space became one of connection between cultures, people, and experiences. For many, the experience went beyond tasting dishes. The event also showcased the role of food in building community. It offered insight into the history and meaning behind the food.
Chef Dede described soul food as a practice shaped across generations and regions, influenced by her father’s South Carolina roots and her mother’s Baltimore upbringing. At the same time, she encouraged students to make recipes of their own, explaining cooking as an evolving (逐步发展的), personal process. “Keep old things in your mind, but there’s nothing wrong with bringing in something new.”
Outside of the kitchen, Chef Dede balances her work as a chef with her roles as a teacher and a mother. Running DDEggs & More has allowed her to build loyal clients. For her, soul food is deeply personal, grounded in “family and cooking with love.” Chef Dede shared: “My demonstration is one thing, but when I’m at home, I’m dancing, talking to my food… the soul is the heart.”
Chef Dede’s cooking event left students with a better understanding of what it means to cook, learning that cooking is not simply following the directions, but often requires creative experimentation. This experimentation has shaped the culinary (烹饪的) aspects of soul food for hundreds of years, and thanks to chefs like Dede Gause, it continues to evolve.
1.What is the purpose of the cooking event?
A.To improve students’ cooking skills. B.To advertise Chef Dede’s restaurant.
C.To present Black Southern food history. D.To link students to local food and culture.
2.What is paragraph 3 mainly about?
A.Chef Dede’s family roots. B.Chef Dede’s belief in cooking.

4.What does the text convey?
A.Innovation enriches old traditions. B.Knowledge changes people’s lives.

Passage 4
(25-26高二下·湖南长沙·期末)Eating out in the United States is not much different than eating out in other parts of the world. There are still fast-food chains such as McDonald’s and KFC for those hamburgers. However, what makes the restaurants in the US unique is that there is a cultural diversity of restaurants serving food from almost every part of the world. When you arrive in Irvine, and travel around the city, you will find many restaurants of many different cultures, ranging from Europe to the Middle East and Asia. So, when you first arrive, there are always restaurants close by that offer the food you prefer.
Now how do you find those restaurants and know if they are good or not? The most common way is through the Internet. In the US, most restaurants can be found through a smartphone app called Yelp. It is a commonly used search engine for restaurants and it is very convenient to use! All you need is to enter the cuisine you want such as “Indian, Sichuan, Sushi, Vegetarian, etc.” In addition, each restaurant on there is also rated and reviewed by some of their past customers. At some restaurants, you can also sign up for the waiting list through the app to economize on time!
If you don’t have time to go out and eat, there are food delivery services available. Traditionally, pizza is the most common food for delivery. Some delivery services you can try are DoorDash, Uber Eats, or Postmates. All you would need to do is just open a free account, select the restaurants on their webpage, order from the menu, and enter your address to have the food delivered to your home. They usually have a delivery discount the first time you sign up for an account, so be sure to take advantage of that!
1.What sets restaurants in the United States apart from other parts of the world?
A.The use of Internet apps for ordering food.
B.The tradition of having food delivered to one’s home.
C.The presence of fast-food chains like McDonald’s and KFC.
D.The availability of a wide range of cultural diversity in food options.
2.What is the most common way for visitors to find restaurants serving their preferred cuisine?
A.By exploring the city on foot.
B.By asking the locals for recommendations.
C.By using the Yelp app to search for specific cuisines.
D.By checking in at their hotel for a list of nearby restaurants.
3.What do the underlined words “economize on” mean in the second paragraph?
A.Save. B.Spend. C.Kill. D.Waste.
4.How do food delivery services in the US attract new customers?
A.By offering a wide range of food options.
B.By providing free delivery for all orders.
C.By allowing customers to order through smartphone apps.
D.By offering delivery discounts to first-time account sign-ups.
Passage 5
(25-26高二下·广东深圳·期末)Many people eat broccoli or drink red wine because they believe the antioxidants (抗氧化物) in them can remove harmful substances and slow down aging. However, recent research suggests a different idea. These foods are good for us not because they protect us, but because they challenge our bodies in small ways. 1
Plants cannot move to escape danger. As a result, they produce chemicals to defend themselves against insects, heat, and disease. The spiciness of chili, the bitterness of broccoli, and the dryness of wine are all part of this defense system. 2 When we consume them, our bodies detect these signals and strengthen their natural ability to cope with stress.
Take broccoli as an example. It contains sulforaphane (萝卜硫素), which does not fight diseases directly. 3 In doing so, it helps us build stronger defenses and improve long-term health.
A certain level of challenge can be good for our health. Modern farming makes food safer and more stable, but it also reduces the stress plants experience, leading to fewer protective chemicals and weaker signals for the human body.
In contrast, the Mediterranean (地中海的) diet offers a different picture. It features foods like olives, nuts, and vegetables, which often grow in dry and difficult conditions. 4 When we eat them, we receive stronger signals that help our bodies respond and stay healthy. This may help explain why the Mediterranean diet is widely considered healthy and beneficial in the long run.
5 Rather than simply avoiding stress, our bodies benefit from manageable stresses that strengthen them and prepare them for future difficulties.
A.However, this is easier said than done.
B.Rather, it activates our built-in defense systems.
C.This view offers a new way to understand healthy eating.
D.For humans, these substances act as a mild form of stress.
E.To survive, they produce more chemicals to protect themselves.
F.Ultimately, health is built through balanced interaction with the world.
G.Highly processed foods, however, often provide fewer natural stress signals.
Passage 6
(25-26高二下·广东深圳·期末)When you’re committed to healthy eating and environmental sustainability, you often find yourself choosing organic products. 1 Some products use the word organic as part of advertising language rather than a certified standard. As a result, consumers need to be able to distinguish real organic products from misleading claims.
One useful place to start is with official organic certification seals (印章). 2 Products should avoid chemical pesticides and fertilisers, limit the use of genetically modified organisms, and follow strict production and processing rules. After being inspected by an authorised certification agency, they are issued official organic seals.
3 Some products are made entirely from organic ingredients, while others contain only a certain percentage of organic materials. Labels such as “100% Organic,” “Organic,” and “Made with Organic Ingredients” may look similar, but they represent different levels of organic content.
Beyond the front label, consumers should turn to the back of the package for nutrition facts labels. Ingredient lists reveal what a product actually contains, while nutrition facts provide details about sugar, fat, and calorie content. This is important because a product can be organic and still be high in sugar or calories. 4
Choosing truly organic products not only supports a more sustainable agricultural future but also helps you maintain a balanced diet that reflects your values. 5 Next time you shop, first look at the front label, then turn the package over to check the nutrition facts and read the ingredient list carefully to ensure you are getting what you pay for.
A.It is also important to understand labelling categories.
B.With the tips above, you can make more informed choices.
C.In other words, organic does not automatically mean healthy.
D.They are awarded only to products that meet strict standards.
E.Nutrition facts are often influenced by how food is processed.
F.Many consumers prefer to buy fresh products from local markets.
G.But not all “organic” claims on food packages are equally reliable.
Passage 7
(25-26高二下·湖南衡阳·期末)To understand China’s coffee culture, I travelled to Zhukula village, Yunnan, where French missionaries (传教士) 1 China’s first coffee trees in 1892. No road led to this 2 village when I visited in 2010.
I learned how these farmers not only produced but also consumed coffee. This stood in sharp contrast to the reality I had faced years earlier: Finding any coffee at all 3 a taxi ride across downtown Beijing when I first arrived in 2005, because about 20 years ago, China’s coffee culture had 4 begun percolating (萌芽).
While there were many reasons more Chinese people were increasingly 5 about coffee at that time, a main 6 was the US sitcom (情景喜剧), Friends. It felt like Friends was even more 7 in China than in the US. I remember when a replica (复制品) of the TV show’s Central Perk coffee shop 8 in Beijing in 2010, followed by another in Shanghai.
Fast-forward nearly two decades, and China is 9 global coffee culture. Rather than travelling across town in the nation’s cities, you likely only need to 10 a few steps down the street to get a cup. It’s even commonplace in towns and smaller settlements.
The nation’s coffee culture is continuing to 11 , driven by increasing innovation. Like those 12 trees in Zhukula, China’s coffee-culture heritage remains rooted deep in China’s southwestern corner. Now, it’s 13 to every place on our planet.
These beans are the seeds of a(n) 14 that is rooted in globalization, in which the word “blend” extends beyond fine grounds to whole civilizations, and where 15 pours across borders one cup at a time.
It flavors, stirs, and energizes an excitement we feel worldwide.

A Food & Porcelain event in central London brought together two of China’s 1 (fine) traditions — Jingdezhen porcelain and Chinese cuisine — creating a feast for both the eyes and the tongue.
Held at a Chinese restaurant near Trafalgar Square, the luncheon (午宴)began not with hot dishes 2 diners taking pictures of the beautiful lotus-and-peony patterns on pale green plates from Jingdezhen, China’s “porcelain capital”.
“I designed every dish 3 (specific) for each porcelain,” said chef Tong Chee Hwee, 4 has spent 24 years cooking Chinese food in Britain.
“The colors must harmonize, and so must the tastes. It’s a dialogue between sight and palate (味觉),” he said, 5 (point) at a plate of tuna tartare. He explained how the pink of the fish 6 (match) the plate’s delicate green tone, while a Cantonese-inspired sauce added contrast.
The porcelain 7 (use) during thne event, known as “Longzhuge,” or Dragon Pearl Pavilion, drew 8 (inspire) from the imperial kilns (官窑)of Jingdezhen. The floral patterns, known as baoxianghua, mix the purity of lotus flowers with the dignity of peonies.
“To enjoy the Chinese cuisine presented on a Jingdezhen porcelain — this is something I never imagined I would experience in London,” said Alexander Randall, among the people attending the event. 9 impressed him most was the perfect combination of food and porcelain, which turned a simple meal 10 a cultural journey.

1.What does the underlined word “latency” in paragraph 2 mean?
A.Sweetness. B.Attention. C.Potential. D.Poetry.
2.What mainly made Visser open Hani Coffee in Yunnan?
A.The diverse ethnic culture.
B.The ideal investment climate.
C.The high-quality coffee beans.
D.The advanced agriculture skill.
3.Which of the following can best describe Visser’s coffee business?
A.Beneficial and bridge-building. B.Narrow but rewarding.
C.Competitive and profit-driven. D.Traditional but prosperous.
4.What message does the author mainly want to convey in the text?
A.Policies fuel entrepreneurial success.
B.Cultural bonds bring a win-win result.
C.Economic progress protects traditions.
D.Diverse cultures shape a business model.
【答案】1.C 2.B 3.A 4.B
根据画线词的上文“I tasted a cup of local coffee in a village hut — it was rough (我在一个村舍里品尝了一杯当地咖啡——它很粗糙)”和下文“With the right techniques, he was sure it could compete with the world’s finest. (凭借正确的技术,他确信它可以与世界顶级咖啡竞争。)”可知,当地咖啡虽然粗糙,但Visser认为正确的技术可以将其品质提升到顶级,说明这种咖啡具有很大的潜力,画线词的意思应该是“潜力”,与Potential“潜力,可能性”意思一致。
2.细节理解题。根据第三段中“What drove Visser to settle and start a business? “China’s open environment and respect for cultural diversity were key,” he explains… Government support made his dream workable. (是什么促使Visser定居并创业?“中国的开放环境和对文化多样性的尊重是关键,”他解释道……政府的支持使他的梦想成为可能。)”可知,主要促使Visser在云南开设Hani Coffee的原因是理想的投资环境。
3.推理判断题。根据第四段中“He has also established a fair-trade model, ensuring farmers receive 20% higher incomes. “We’re not just selling coffee — we’re building bridges,” he adds. His factory now doubles as a cultural center, where visitors learn about coffee farming and ethnic traditions. (他还建立了一个公平贸易模式,确保农民收入提高20%。“我们不仅在销售咖啡,更是在搭建桥梁,”他补充道。如今,他的工厂也变成了一个文化中心,游客可以在这里了解咖啡种植和民族传统。)”可知,Visser的咖啡业务既惠及农民,又促进文化交流,是有益且搭建桥梁的。
4.推理判断题。通读全文,尤其是最后一段“Reflecting on his journey, Visser emphasizes that cultural curiosity was his greatest advantage. ‘Many foreigners see China as a market, but I see it as a partner,’ he says. ‘The country’s rapid development never sacrifices its cultural roots, and that makes it so attractive for entrepreneurs (创业者). Here, tradition and innovation coexist perfectly.’”(回顾自己的经历,维瑟强调文化好奇心是他最大的优势。‘很多外国人把中国看作一个市场,但我视它为合作伙伴,’他说。‘这个国家的快速发展从未牺牲其文化根基,这使它对企业主来说极具吸引力。在这里,传统与创新完美共存。’”可知,Visser因对中国文化的热爱而扎根,创办Hani Coffee公司,既成就了事业,也促进了当地发展和文化交流。因此,作者主要想传达的信息是“文化纽带带来双赢结果”。
【答案】1.A 2.B 3.D 4.C
根据原文第一段“But research suggests drinking beer can actually lower your blood pressure and reduce your weight.(但研究表明,饮用啤酒实际上可以降低血压、减轻体重。)”
根据原文第一段“Such diets lead to a series of conditions including obesity, high blood pressure and blood sugar. But trials on mice fed with high-fat foods showed that giving them beer could curb some of the conditions.(这类饮食会引发肥胖、高血压、高血糖等一系列问题,但以高脂食物喂养小鼠的实验显示,给小鼠饮用啤酒能够curb部分这类病症。)”及“But research suggests drinking beer can actually lower your blood pressure and reduce your weight.(但研究表明,饮用啤酒实际上可以降低血压、减轻体重。)”
根据原文第二段“Scientists at Oregon State University made the conclusion after testing xanthohumol (XN) on obese mice.(俄勒冈州立大学的科学家们在肥胖小鼠身上测试黄腐酚后得出了这一结论。)”
根据原文第四段“But Professor Stevens said they came across the “solution to the problem” by adding water to XN — which stopped the creation of 8-PN.(但史蒂文斯教授表示,他们找到了这一问题的解决办法,给黄腐酚加水,就能阻止8-PN 的生成。)”
C.The influence of local customs. D.The importance of recipe making.
3.What does Chef Dede mean by saying “the soul is the heart” in paragraph 4?
A.Cooking connects skills and practice. B.Healthy food balances heart and soul.
C.Talking to food shows love in cooking. D.Soul food requires genuine emotion.
4.What does the text convey?
A.Innovation enriches old traditions. B.Knowledge changes people’s lives.
C.New ideas break conventions. D.Joint efforts unite the community.
【答案】1.D 2.B 3.D 4.A
根据第二段中的“This event was designed to connect students with Rochester’s local food scene while highlighting its cultural significance.(该活动旨在让学生接触罗切斯特当地的美食风貌,同时凸显其文化意义。)”
根据第三段内容,特别是“she encouraged students to make recipes of their own, explaining cooking as an evolving, personal process(她鼓励学生创造属于自己的食谱,并将烹饪解释为一个不断演变的个人化过程)”以及引用语“Keep old things in your mind, but there’s nothing wrong with bringing in something new(铭记旧事物,但引入新元素并无不妥)”可知,本段主要阐述了Dede关于烹饪的信念——既要尊重传统,又要勇于创新。
根据第四段中“For her, soul food is deeply personal, grounded in ‘family and cooking with love.’(对她而言,灵魂食物极具个人色彩,根植于‘家庭与带着爱烹饪’。)”以及Dede的解释“My demonstration is one thing, but when I’m at home, I’m dancing, talking to my food… the soul is the heart.(我的演示是一回事,但在家里我会跳舞、跟食物说话……灵魂才是核心。)”可知,她认为灵魂食物的精髓不在于技法展示,而在于烹饪时投入的真挚情感与爱。D选项“Soul food requires genuine emotion(灵魂食物需要真挚的情感)”与此相符。
4.主旨大意题。根据第三段中的“Keep old things in your mind, but there’s nothing wrong with bringing in something new.(铭记旧事物,但引入新元素并无不妥)”以及最后一段中的“cooking is not simply following the directions, but often requires creative experimentation. This experimentation has shaped the culinary (烹饪的) aspects of soul food for hundreds of years, and thanks to chefs like Dede Gause, it continues to evolve.(烹饪不仅仅是按照说明操作,往往还需要富有创意的尝试。这种探索已塑造了灵魂食物的烹饪风格数百年之久,而多亏了像Dede Gause这样的厨师,它仍在不断演变)”可知,文章主旨是创新能够丰富传统美食文化,让传统不断焕新。

3.What do the underlined words “economize on” mean in the second paragraph?
A.Save. B.Spend. C.Kill. D.Waste.
4.How do food delivery services in the US attract new customers?
A.By offering a wide range of food options.
B.By providing free delivery for all orders.
C.By allowing customers to order through smartphone apps.
D.By offering delivery discounts to first-time account sign-ups.
【答案】1.D 2.C 3.A 4.D

1.上文“These foods are good for us not because they protect us, but because they challenge our bodies in small ways.(这些食物对我们有益,并非因为它们能保护我们,而是因为它们会以轻微的方式对身体产生挑战。)” C“This view offers a new way to understand healthy eating.(这一观点提供了理解健康饮食的全新思路。)”
2.上文“The spiciness of chili, the bitterness of broccoli, and the dryness of wine are all part of this defense system.(辣椒的辛辣、西兰花的苦涩以及红酒的干感,都属于这种防御系统的一部分。)” D“For humans, these substances act as a mild form of stress.(对人类而言,这些物质是一种轻微的压力形式。)” 后文“When we consume them, our bodies detect these signals and strengthen their natural ability to cope with stress.(当我们食用这些食物时,身体会感知到这些信号,进而增强自身应对压力的本能能力。)”
3.上文“Take broccoli as an example. It contains sulforaphane (萝卜硫素), which does not fight diseases directly.(以西兰花为例。它含有的萝卜硫素并不能直接对抗疾病。)”否定了大众的固有认知。选项B“Rather, it activates our built-in defense systems.(相反,它会激活人体自带的防御系统。)” 后文“In doing so, it helps us build stronger defenses and improve long-term health.(通过这种方式,它助力我们构建更强的防御体系,提升长期健康水平。)”
4.上文“In contrast, the Mediterranean (地中海的) diet offers a different picture. It features foods like olives, nuts, and vegetables, which often grow in dry and difficult conditions.(相比之下,地中海饮食提供了一幅不同的画面。它以橄榄、坚果和蔬菜等食物为特色,这些食材大多生长在干旱、恶劣的环境中。)”介绍地中海食材的特殊生长环境。选项E“To survive, they produce more chemicals to protect themselves.(为了生存,它们会生成更多保护性化学物质。)” 后文“When we eat them, we receive stronger signals that help our bodies respond and stay healthy.(我们食用这些食物时,会接收更强的信号,帮助身体做出反应、维持健康。)”
5.后文“Rather than simply avoiding stress, our bodies benefit from manageable stresses that strengthen them and prepare them for future difficulties.(人体不必一味规避压力,适度可控的压力反而能让身体获益,强健体魄,让身体准备好应对未来的困境。)” F“Ultimately, health is built through balanced interaction with the world.(归根结底,健康是通过与世界的平衡互动建立起来的。)”
【答案】1.G 2.D 3.A 4.C 5.B
1.上文“When you’re committed to healthy eating and environmental sustainability, you often find yourself choosing organic products.(当你致力于健康饮食和环境可持续性时,你常常会发现自己在选择有机产品)”指出消费者倾向于选择有机产品,G选项“But not all “organic” claims on food packages are equally reliable.(但食品包装上并非所有“有机”声明都同样可靠)”与上文构成转折关系,指出有机标签并非都可信;下文“Some products use the word organic as part of advertising language rather than a certified standard.(一些产品使用“有机”一词作为广告用语,而非经过认证的标准)”具体解释了不可靠的原因——有些只是广告手段,上下文连贯。
2.上文“One useful place to start is with official organic certification seals (印章).(一个有用的起点是官方有机认证印章)”介绍了官方认证印章这一识别方法,D选项“They are awarded only to products that meet strict standards.(它们只授予符合严格标准的产品)”承接上文,解释了认证印章的授予条件——必须符合严格标准;下文“Products should avoid chemical pesticides and fertilisers, limit the use of genetically modified organisms, and follow strict production and processing rules.(产品应避免使用化学农药和肥料,限制使用转基因生物,并遵循严格的生产和加工规则)”具体说明了“严格标准”包含的内容,与D选项中的“strict standards”直接呼应,上下文连贯。
3.下文“Some products are made entirely from organic ingredients, while others contain only a certain percentage of organic materials. Labels such as “100% Organic,” “Organic,” and “Made with Organic Ingredients” may look similar, but they represent different levels of organic content.(一些产品完全由有机成分制成,而其他产品只含有一定比例的有机材料。“100%有机”、“有机”和“由有机成分制成”等标签看起来相似,但它们代表不同的有机含量水平)”介绍了不同有机标签的具体含义和差异。A选项“It is also important to understand labelling categories.(理解标签分类也很重要)”准确概括了本段主旨,点明理解不同有机标签类别的重要性,与下文的“represent different levels of organic content”相呼应,符合段落主题句的功能。
4.上文“This is important because a product can be organic and still be high in sugar or calories.(这一点很重要,因为一个产品可以是有机的,但仍然含有高糖或高热量)”指出有机可能仍含高糖高热量,说明有机不等于健康,C选项“In other words, organic does not automatically mean healthy.(换句话说,有机并不自动意味着健康)”承接上文,对前文进行总结和概括,重申了有机与健康不能画等号的观点,上下文连贯。
5.下文“Next time you shop, first look at the front label, then turn the package over to check the nutrition facts and read the ingredient list carefully to ensure you are getting what you pay for.(下次购物时,先看正面标签,然后翻到背面查看营养成分表并仔细阅读配料表,以确保你买到的是你所付费购买的产品)”具体说明了如何在购物时运用前文介绍的识别方法来做出明智选择。
