The coach didn’t call Paul "big guy" because Paul had a tall or strong body. At first, Paul was small, weak and seen as an underdog with poor physical conditions.
Paul showed amazing perseverance, courage and fighting spirit on the court.His strong will and brave heart made him a "big man" in spirit, so the coach called him "big guy" as a compliment and recognition.

what did we learn in today’s lesson?
Firstly, we have grasped the key word "underdog" and relative clauses, as well as improve our reading abilities to sort out and retell the story of Paul.
Secondly, through learning activities such as reading prediction, group discussion and layered reading, students can effectively strengthen their skills in information locating, oral expression and cooperative thinking.
