◇教学过程◇
Step 1 Work on Assessment
1.Organise students into groups of 3-4.In each group,students take turns to retell a DIY story they learnt in this unit or share their own DIY experience in detail.
2.Instruct students to complete the exercises on page 131 independently.
3.After students finish,have them check their answers in groups.
4.Hand out the self⁃assessment form to students and let them finish it.
Step 2 Work on Further study
1.Show some popular DIY project websites or video platforms on the screen.Briefly explain how students can search for interesting DIY projects online.
2.Encourage students to share any DIY projects they are interested in or have already found.Ask them to explain why they are attracted to these projects.

本课时通过多种评估方式,学生对自己的学习情况有了较为清晰的认知。后续教学中, 还应加强对学生自我评价方法的指导,帮助学生制定更具针对性和可执行性的学习计划。

◇教学过程◇
Step 1 Leading in
1.Greet the class warmly.
2.Show a short video about tie⁃dyeing and some tie⁃dyed products.Then ask students some questions,“What do you think of these tie⁃dyed things?Have you ever tried tie⁃dyeing or any other special DIY activities?” to start a discussion.
Step 2 Work on A
1.Instruct students to read the reading material about tie⁃dyeing silently at first.After they finish,let them ask the questions below the text and then ask some them to share their answers.
2.Organise students into small groups of 4-5.Each group should discuss and summarise the key points of tie⁃dyeing.Then,select one representative from each group to report their findings to the whole class.
Step 3 Work on B1
1.Before playing the recording of Amy’s experience in the tie⁃dyeing workshop,let students quickly skim through the notes column.
2.Play the recording for the first time,allowing students to simply listen and get a general sense of the content.For the second play,ask them to fill in the blanks in the notes carefully.
3.After the second listening,check the answers together.
Step 4 Work on B2
1.Play the recording of Amy and James’ conversation.Instruct students to listen attentively and complete the notes about the things they make at home.
2.Once they finish,ask students to check their answers in pairs.
Step 5 Work on B3
1.Ask students to read Amy’s blog post first and then complete it with the information in Parts B1 and B2.
2.Ask some students to read out the passage and check the answers.
Step 6 Work on C
1.Divide the students into pairs.Present the conversation model between Amy and her classmates on the screen.Encourage students to use this as a reference and start a discussion about the fun of DIY.
2.Walk around the classroom while students are talking,offering language support and suggestions.
3.Select several pairs to share their conversations with the class.
Step 7 Work on D
1.Work on D1
Guide students to recall a DIY activity they participated in.Provide a mind⁃mapping framework on the board to help them organise their thoughts.
2.Work on D2
Project Amy’s diary entry on the screen.Read it aloud with the students,analysing the structure and language use.
3.Work on D3
Ask students to write their own DIY activity diary entries based on their notes from Part D1,following the model of Amy’s diary entry.During the writing process,walk around to offer individual guidance.
4.After students finish writing,have them exchange diaries with their partners for peer⁃review.Provide a simple checklist for peer⁃review.Finally,select some students to read their diaries to the class.

本课时通过多样化的教学活动,学生积极参与到DIY知识的学习和自身经历的分享中,对DIY活动有了更浓厚的兴趣。然而,在听力理解部分, 还有部分学生对一些细节信息把握不够准确;在写作环节,部分学生存在描述不够生动、逻辑不够连贯的问题。后续教学中,应加强听力技巧训练;同时,增加写作指导和范文赏析,引导学生积累好词好句,提升写作能力。
