As the year draws to a close, it is the perfect time to think about the changes we want to make in the coming new year. We can improve our lives by learning something new, forming good habits, working harder at something, or even improving our relationships with others. I hope to make next year better than this one, so I am going to make three resolutions.

Work in groups. Discuss what problems there are in your class
or at school. Then make a list of the problems and the reasons why they exist.
4a
Some students are often late for class.
Some students want to show their ‘creativity’ randomly.
They stay up late playing games or watching videos.
The classroom is sometimes very messy.
Students don't have the habit of keeping it tidy.
Write down some plans to solve the problems.
4b
Problem: Scribbles on school walls
Set up a “Clean Walls” Poster Campaign
Design colorful posters saying “Love Our School—Keep Walls Clean!” and put them near the scribbled areas.
Let art students create beautiful murals (壁画) on empty walls to encourage others to respect the environment.
Hold a Class Meeting About Respect
In each class, discuss why we should care for school property (财产).
Ask students who scribbled to apologize and help clean the walls as a lesson.
Problem: Students are late for class
Create a “Punctuality Reward System”
Give small prizes (like stickers or “Early Bird” certificates) to students who arrive on time for a week.
Share tips on time management (e.g., set alarms 10 minutes earlier).
Talk to Late Students Privately
Teachers chat with students to find out why they’re late (e.g., family issues, sleep problems).
Make a personal plan, like helping them adjust bedtime or arrange morning routines.
Problem: Classroom is messy
Start a “1-Minute Clean-Up” Routine
Every day before leaving class, spend 1 minute tidying desks, chairs, and picking up trash.
Assign “Cleanliness Monitors” to check and remind classmates.
Teach Organization Skills
In a class activity, show how to organize schoolbags and desks neatly.
Use boxes or shelves to store books and supplies, so the classroom stays tidy.
Prepare a presentation to share your plans with the whole class.
