Step 2 Work on Assessment 1.Ask students to do the exercises on page 143. 2.Have students check the answers in groups and list the difficult questions.The teacher can then explain these difficult points. 3.Guide students to complete the assessment form.Also,ask them to write down what they are good at and what they need to improve,and then make an action plan for further study. Step 2 Work on A 1.Present the two online news reports about the snowstorm in Heilongjiang and bush fires in Australia.Let students read them carefully and answer the questions. 2.Ask students to share their answers and have a brief class discussion.Guide students to analyse the reports and think about the impacts of natural disasters. Step 3 Work on B1 and B2 1.Play the recording of the talk on how to stay safe in natural disasters for students to listen.Ask them to complete the notes while listening. 2.After listening,check the answers together.Explain any difficult points. 3.Play the recording of the conversation between Amy and Daniel about how to stay safe in emergencies.Let students listen and complete the relevant notes. 4.Check the answers.
