内容正文:
Unit 6 Beyond Earth Section A 2a-2e
I think that...、I believe...
I think...、I believe...、In my opinion...
Good morning, class! Today we are going to talk about a very exciting topic. Before we start, let me ask you a question. Have you ever watched any news about space exploration on TV? What did you see?" 教师停顿,示意学生举手回答。随后教师继续引导:"Last month, our country's Shenzhou spacecraft completed another successful mission. Can you tell me what you know about it? What do astronauts do in space?"
在学生发表看法之后,教师进一步创设情境: "Imagine you are standing on the Earth and looking up at the starry sky at night. Do you ever wonder what is out there beyond our planet? Is there life on other planets? Do you think it is important for humans to explore space? Today, we are going to listen to a conversation between Mark and Emma. They have different ideas about space exploration. Let's find out what they think."
教师板书课题: Unit 6 Beyond Earth Section A 2a-2e,并写出核心问题:Why do some people support space exploration? Why do some people disagree?
学生活动: 学生积极回忆自己了解的太空探索新闻和知识,举手回答问题。有的学生回答:"I saw the Shenzhou spacecraft launch on TV. The astronauts stayed in the space station for six months." 有的学生回答:"I know that astronauts do experiments in space and they also do spacewalks." 还有学生回答:"I think space exploration is very cool because we can learn about other planets." 可能出现的不准确回答为:"I don't know anything about space exploration." 或 "Space exploration is a waste of money." 教师对学生的回答给予肯定和引导:"Good point! Thank you for sharing. That's an interesting idea. Let's keep it in mind and see what others think about it."
Now please read the five sentences in activity 2a by yourself. While you are reading, think about one question: Who might say each sentence, Mark or Emma? Do not look for the correct answer yet. Just make a guess based on your common sense. If you think the sentence shows a positive attitude towards space exploration, you can guess it is from Mark. If you think it shows a negative attitude, you can guess it is from Emma. Work individually for two minutes."
在充分阅读时间后,教师组织学生进行同伴交流:"Now turn to your partner and share your guesses. Tell your partner why you made this guess. For example, if you think sentence one is from Emma, you can say: I think Emma would say this because she may think space exploration costs too much money."
随后,教师邀请几组学生汇报猜测结果和理由。教师追问:"Which sentences were easy to judge? Which sentences were difficult? Why do you think some sentences are difficult to judge?"
学生活动: 学生独立阅读五个句子,根据句子内容和个人常识进行初步判断,在句子旁边标注Mark或Emma。同伴交流时,学生相互分享自己的判断并说明理由。学生可能给出的回答示例:
正确回答示例一: "I think sentence 'We should spend more money on space exploration' is from Mark. Because Mark probably supports space exploration, so he would say we should spend more money on it."
正确回答示例二: "I think the sentence that says space exploration helps us learn about the universe is from Mark, because people who support space exploration often use this as a reason."
正确回答示例三: "I think the sentence about robots can do dangerous work in space is from someone who still supports space exploration but thinks robots are better than humans. It is difficult to judge because both Mark and Emma might say it."
典型错误回答示例一: "I think all the sentences are from Mark because this unit is about space and Mark is the main speaker." 教师应引导:"That might not be true. In real conversations, people often have different opinions. Let's listen carefully to find out who says what."
典型错误回答示例二: "I don't know which sentence is from whom. It's too hard to guess." 教师应鼓励:"That's okay. Guessing is just a warm-up. You don't need to get the right answer now. The important thing is that you are thinking. After we listen, we will check your guesses."
Now we are going to listen to the conversation between Mark and Emma. Please listen carefully and find out which person said each sentence in 2a. Write M for Mark and E for Emma next to each sentence. Remember, you don't need to understand every word. Just focus on who said each sentence. Are you ready? Let's listen."
第一遍录音播放结束后,教师不立即公布答案,而是让学生先与同伴核对答案。教师巡视课堂,关注学生的完成情况。随后教师请学生逐句汇报答案,并在黑板上的板书区域记录学生给出的答案。教师针对存在争议的句子进行追问:"Sentence two has different answers from different groups. Some of you think it is from Mark, and some think it is from Emma. Why do you think so? Let's look at the exact words again."
2.第二遍听力(4分钟)
教师活动: 教师播放第二遍录音,要求学生完成2c的信息表填写。播放前,教师给出指导:"This time, listen more carefully. I want you to complete the chart in activity 2c. You need to write down what Mark and Emma think about space exploration and the reasons they give. Pay attention to the key words and phrases. For example, if Mark says space exploration is worth it, you can write 'worth it' in the chart. If Emma says it costs too much money, you can write 'costs too much'."
录音播放结束后,教师请几名学生分享他们填写的信息表,其他学生进行补充和修正。教师在黑板上逐步完成信息表的板书,一边写一边用语言描述:"Mark thinks space exploration is important because it helps us learn about the universe and it can also help us find new resources on other planets. Emma thinks space exploration costs too much money and we should spend the money on solving problems on Earth like poverty and pollution."
3.核对与反馈(3分钟)
教师活动: 教师组织全班核对2b和2c的答案。教师逐一说出每个句子的编号和对应的人物,学生对照自己的答案进行自我检查和修正。教师特别强调:"If you got some wrong answers, don't worry. That's a normal part of learning. The important thing is that you understand why the correct answers are correct."
随后教师引导学生思考: "Now let's think about this question. Mark and Emma have different opinions about space exploration. Who do you agree with? Why?" 教师请两三位学生表达看法,并追问理由:"That's an interesting opinion. Can you tell me more about why you think so? What evidence do you have to support your idea?"
Emma thinks space exploration is too expensive and she thinks the money should be used to help poor people on Earth."
正确回答示例二: "Mark thinks sending robots to space is better than sending humans because robots do not need food or water and they can do dangerous work."
典型错误回答示例一: "Mark thinks we should not spend money on space exploration." 教师应及时纠正:"Wait, let's check that again. Did Mark say that, or was it Emma? Let's listen to that part once more.")
典型错误回答示例二: "Emma thinks robots are better than humans for space exploration." 教师引导:"Actually, that was Mark's idea. Emma said robots are useful, but she still thinks the money problem is more important. Let 's look at the exact words in the chart.")
Please pay attention to the intonation. When Mark says 'I think space exploration is important for our future,' his voice goes up slightly at the end because he is expressing his strong belief. When Emma says 'Maybe you are right, but...' her voice goes down and then pauses, because she is showing that she is thinking."
教师将学生分成两人一组,一人扮演Mark,一人扮演Emma,要求学生模仿录音中的语音语调和情感态度进行对话练习。教师提醒学生:"Remember to use your voice to show your feelings. Mark is excited and confident about space exploration. Emma is careful and a little worried about money."
练习结束后,教师邀请两组学生在全班面前表演对话。表演结束后,教师进行简单评价:"Your pronunciation is very good. I especially like the way you showed Emma's tone of hesitation. That's exactly how she feels in the conversation."
随后,教师引导学生在原对话基础上进行替换练习:"Now let's make our own conversation. You can keep the same structure but change the content. For example, instead of talking about money, you can talk about other reasons why some people do not support space exploration, such as the risk to astronauts' lives. Work with your partner and create a new conversation."
教师提供语言支架,并在黑板上板书核心句型:
I think that... because...
I believe...
In my opinion...
From my point of view...
I agree with you, but...
That's a good point. However...
学生活动: 学生跟随教师朗读对话,注意模仿语音语调。结对练习时,学生积极调整自己的语气和表情,努力体现人物性格特征。在替换练习环节,学生尝试运用新的观点和理由创编对话。
学生表演对话的示例:
正确回答示例一:
Mark: I believe space exploration is important for our future. It helps us understand our planet and the universe better.
Emma: That's a good point. However, I still think the money could be better spent on helping people on Earth.
正确回答示例二:
Mark: In my opinion, we should send more robots to explore space because they don't need food or water.
Emma: I agree that robots are useful. But building and sending rockets still costs a lot of money, doesn't it?
典型错误回答示例一: "I think space exploration is very good. But I think robots are bad." 教师在反馈时提示:"You have given an opinion, but you haven't explained the reason. Can you add a because clause to support your point?")
典型错误回答示例二: "Mark is saying that we should spend money on space. Emma is saying that we should not spend money. They are fighting each other." 教师引导:"They are not fighting; they are discussing. They listen to each other and give reasons. Let's try to do the same in our conversation.")
Now it's your turn to have a discussion about space exploration. Here are some questions for you to discuss in your group. First, do you think space exploration is worth the money? Why or why not? Second, would you like to be an astronaut if you had the chance? Why or why not? Third, do you think humans will live on other planets in the future?"
教师明确讨论规则: "Each group member should share at least one idea. When one person is talking, the others should listen carefully. After the speaker finishes, you can ask questions or add your own opinions. Try to use the sentence patterns we learned today."
在学生讨论过程中,教师巡回各小组,倾听学生的讨论内容,在学生表达困难时给予及时帮助,在学生表达有误时给予温和纠正。教师提醒学生:"If you agree with your classmate, you can say 'I agree with you. I also think...' If you disagree, you can say 'I see your point, but I think...' This will make your conversation more natural."
小组讨论结束后,教师邀请三个小组的代表汇报本组的讨论结果。教师引导代表用完整的句子进行汇报:"Our group thinks that... because..." 教师在每位代表发言后进行简要点评和追问。
学生活动: 学生在小组内围绕三个话题进行讨论,有学生提到人类探索太空的重要性,有学生质疑太空探索的巨额花费,有学生畅想未来在火星上生活的场景。小组成员相互补充、相互质疑,在交流中不断完善自己的观点和理由。
学生讨论中的回答示例:
正确回答示例一: "I think space exploration is worth the money because it helps us find new resources for the future. If we use up all the resources on Earth, we might need to find new ones on other planets."
正确回答示例二: "I would like to be an astronaut because I want to see the Earth from space. I think it must be a very beautiful view. But I am also a little afraid because it is dangerous."
正确回答示例三: "I think humans will live on other planets in the future, but it will take a long time. We need to solve many problems first, like how to grow food and how to get enough air."
典型错误回答示例一: "Space exploration is bad because it wastes time. We should not explore space at all." 教师引导:"Your opinion is very direct. Can you think of a more balanced way to express it? Maybe you can say 'I think space exploration is not the most urgent thing right now because...' This sounds more reasonable.")
典型错误回答示例二: "I don't know. I don't have any ideas about this topic." 教师鼓励:"It's okay if you don't have a full idea yet. You can use one of the reasons from the listening passage. For example, you can say 'I agree with Mark because...' or 'I agree with Emma because...' You don't have to create a completely new idea.")
Sending humans to space is too dangerous. - Emma would say this." "Space exploration helps us find new things about the universe. - Mark would say this." "The money for space exploration should be used to help people in need. - Emma would say this."
能力提升题: 教师让学生在练习本上完成两个完成句子的任务。第一个句子为:In my opinion, space exploration is ** because ****. 第二个句子为:I think robots are better than humans for space exploration because **. 教师请两三位学生朗读自己写的句子,给出即时反馈。
学生活动: 学生在口头作答环节快速反应,集体或个别说出答案。在书面完成句子环节,学生独立在练习本上写出完整句子,然后积极举手朗读自己的句子。
学生作答的答案示例:
基础巩固题正确回答示例: "The first one is from Emma. Because she thinks space exploration is dangerous, so she doesn't like it."
基础巩固题典型错误回答示例: "The first one is from Mark. Because Mark is the boy and boys like dangerous things." 教师纠正:"That's not a good reason. We should not guess based on gender. We should listen to what the speakers actually say in the conversation. Mark actually thinks space exploration is important, so he would not say it is too dangerous. He does say it is dangerous for humans, but that is why he prefers robots."
提升题正确回答示例一: "In my opinion, space exploration is necessary because it helps us learn about the universe and maybe find a new home for humans in the future."
提升题正确回答示例二: "I think robots are better than humans for space exploration because robots do not need to eat or drink, and they can work in very dangerous places."
提升题典型错误回答示例: "I think robots are better than humans because robots are stronger." 教师引导:"That is true, but can you be more specific? What makes robots stronger? In the listening passage, Mark mentioned that robots don't need food or water. Can you add this idea to your sentence?")
What did we learn today? What new words and expressions did you learn? What did you learn about Mark and Emma's opinions on space exploration?" 教师在学生发言的基础上进行总结归纳,并在板书上将本课核心内容进行串联:"Today we listened to a conversation about space exploration. Mark supports space exploration because he thinks it can help us learn about the universe and find new resources. Emma thinks space exploration costs too much money and we should spend the money on solving Earth's problems. We also learned how to express our own opinions using I think, I believe, and In my opinion. Remember, when you express an opinion, you should always give a reason to support it."
最后,教师进行情感升华: "Space is vast and full of mysteries. Human beings have always been curious about the unknown. This curiosity drives us to explore, to discover, and to grow. Whether you agree with Mark or Emma, it is important to think independently and support your ideas with reasons."
学生活动: 学生主动回顾本课所学内容,回答教师的提问。学生回答示例:"I learned how to say my opinion in English. I can say I think space exploration is good because we can learn new things." 还有学生回答:"I learned that Mark likes space exploration and Emma worries about the money."
教师说明要求: "All of you should finish the first task. If you want more challenges, you can also do the second and third tasks. Please bring your work to our next class. We will share some of the best work."
学生活动: 学生认真记录作业要求,明确各项作业的具体内容。有学生举手询问:"Can I write about a different topic instead of space exploration?" 教师回答:"The topic should stay the same, but you can choose your own opinions and reasons. That way, every one of you will have a different dialogue or passage."
Space exploration is very expensive"这句话是Mark说的,因为Mark在讨论中提到花钱。实际上,在听力材料中,这句话是Emma用来反对太空探索的理由。教师应对策略:在学生完成预测后,不急于否定,而是引导学生在听录音时特别注意这句话是谁说出的,并追问:"Was your guess correct? Why or why not? What words in the sentence helped you determine the speaker?" 通过反思帮助学生理解人物的立场会直接影响其使用的语言表达。
2.学生在完成2c信息表时,可能将Mark和Emma的观点混淆,尤其是在两人观点出现的顺序和信息密度较高的情况下。教师应对策略:针对学生的错误匹配情况,在核对答案时重点分析两人的核心分歧点。教师可以让学生比较"Mark thinks space exploration helps find new resources"和"Emma thinks the money should be used to help poor people"两个句子之间的对比关系,帮助学生理清人物各自关注的核心问题。
3.学生在口语表达环节可能出现信息不完整、理由不充分的情况,表达时只给出观点而不能说明原因。例如学生说"I think space exploration is good"后,无法继续补充理由。教师应对策略:教师以追问方式引导:"Why do you think it's good? Can you give me an example? What can we learn from space exploration?" 同时,教师可以引导学生回顾听力材料中Mark和Emma陈述理由的方式,鼓励学生借鉴和重组这些理由来支撑自己的观点。
4.学生在小组讨论中可能出现一边倒的情况,所有学生都支持太空探索,缺乏反对意见的碰撞。教师应对策略:教师在巡视中发现这种情况时,可以适时介入:"I heard a lot of people saying space exploration is great. But remember, Emma had some very good points too. What about the problem of money? What about the danger to astronauts? Can anybody play the role of Emma in your group?" 通过教师的提示,引导学生从多角度思考问题。
八、板书设计
板书采用分区布局,共分为三个区域。
主板书区域位于黑板中央,上方工整书写课题: Unit 6 Beyond Earth Section A 2a-2e。课题下方分为两个对比栏。
左侧栏目标题为Mark's Opinions,下方依次书写:supports space exploration;helps us learn about the universe;helps find new resources;prefers robots for dangerous work。
右侧栏目标题为Emma's Opinions,下方依次书写:worries about the cost;money should be spent on Earth's problems;thinks about poverty and pollution。
两个对比栏中间画一条直线,上方标注"Comparing Opinions",帮助学生直观理解两人观点的差异。
副板书区域位于黑板右侧,书写本课核心句型,包括:
I think that... because...
I believe...
In my opinion...
From my point of view...
I agree with you, but...
That's a good point. However...
板书下方标注一个提醒语句: Give a reason to support your opinion.
