When I read the title "On the money", I first think of money, saving money and making good use of money.
The phrase "on the money" means "correct" or "right". So the title suggests that saving money in a smart way is the right thing to do, and it will help our money grow, just like the plants in the jars.

1 What fun facts about money do you know?
2 How important is money to you?
Here are some interesting facts about money. First, money was not always coins or paper. Long ago, people traded goods like food and clothes instead of using money. Second, most money in the world is not cash. Most wealth exists only in bank numbers online. Third, paper money is not made of pure paper. It is mixed with cotton, so it is stronger and not easy to break.
1 What fun facts about money do you know?
Money is important but not the most important thing in life. It helps us buy daily things, get good education and live a comfortable life. However, money cannot buy happiness, health, true friendship or family love. We should value money and use it wisely, but we never need to chase money blindly.
2 How important is money to you?
Read the quotes and answer the questions.

Money is a good servant, but a bad master.
—Francis Bacon
A penny saved is a penny earned.
—Benjamin Franklin
When a gentleman wants to be rich, he makes money in the right way. —Zengguang Xianwen
1 What is the opinion about money in each quote?
2 Which quotes do you agree with? Why?
1 What is the opinion about money in each quote?
钱是个好仆人,却是个坏主人。
——弗朗西斯·培根
Money is a good servant, but a bad master.
—Francis Bacon
This means we should control money, not let it control us. If we use it wisely, it helps us. But if we love it too much, it can cause problems.
省一分钱就是赚一分钱。
——本杰明·富兰克林
A penny saved is a penny earned.
—Benjamin Franklin
This means saving money is just as important as making money. When we save a little, it's like we have earned that amount.
君子爱财,取之有道。 ——《增广贤文》
When a gentleman wants to be rich, he makes money in the right way. —Zengguang Xianwen
This means that a good person should earn money honestly and fairly. It is okay to want to be rich, but not by cheating or hurting others.
I agree with the third quote: "When a gentleman wants to be rich, he makes money in the right way."
I think it's important to earn money honestly. If someone cheats or hurts others to get rich, the money will not bring true happiness. Also, when we make money in the right way, we can feel proud of ourselves and sleep well at night. It's good to be successful, but not at the cost of losing our values.
2 Which quotes do you agree with? Why?
I also agree with the first quote: "Money is a good servant, but a bad master."
Money is useful. It helps us buy food, clothes, and other things we need. But if we let money control our lives — like always thinking about it, or doing anything to get it — we may lose our happiness and even our friends. So I think we should use money wisely, but never let it become the most important thing in our lives.
I agree with them because both tell us to control money, not let money control us, and to make it honestly.
