At the same time, however, a good friend is honest. He does not look for faults in others. He notices their good points. In short, a friend will try to understand me and accept me.
Another quality is reliability. If I need help, he will do his best to help me. If I am in trouble, he will not run away from me.

It’s common for middle school students to discuss similarities and differences between friends. Lots of students don’t know how to treat these differences in the right way. 11
First, accept the value of similarities. When you and your friends share the same hobbies, you will have lots of topics to communicate about. 12 For example, two quiet book lovers can spend whole afternoons talking about novels without feeling bored.
Second, never fear the differences between you and your partners. 13 A more outgoing friend can pull you out of your quiet world; a hard-working deskmate can push you to spend more time on weak subjects. Every different strength can make up for your own shortcomings.
Third, compare yourself with others in a proper way. Don’t feel upset just because someone is better at one subject than you. 14 You can learn their useful study methods instead of feeling jealous.
Finally, keep in mind that true friendship never depends on being exactly the same. 15 The most important thing is to respect each other’s special points and grow together side by side.
A.Similar interests make it easy to get along well with others.
