Never…had… / So…that… / adj. as S be,把强调点前置
◇ 技法三 强调句型(语法3):It is/was + 被强调成分 + that…;It wasn't until / only when…that…
◇ 技法四 形容词与 with 结构(语法4·5·6):hungry and thirsty;with + n. + adj./doing/done;To one's surprise
+ to do / that 从句;If only…;Had + 主语 + done…
◇ 技法六 三大从句(语法9):名词性从句(that/whether/what)· 状语从句(as/when/though)· 定语从句(which/who/where)
高考常用词:doing(主动·伴随/原因)/ done(被动·原因)/ having done(先发生)/ to do(目的)/ 独立主格:n. + doing/done
范例:
• To make amends, I decided to reach out and apologize sincerely to him.
• Encouraged by his words, I agreed to give it a try.
• He stood up, hugged his parents, and smiled, trying not to let his emotions get the better of him.
目的用 to do,先后用 having done。
核心口诀:情节要"抖包袱"时把状语或表语甩到句首:there came(消息/声音突然到来)、Never…had(前所未有)、adj. as S be(尽管…)。
高考常用词:there came / here comes / Out of the darkness came… / Never / Not until…did… / So + adj. + be + S + that… / adj. as S be
范例:
• A few weeks later, when I almost forgot the contest, there came the news.
• Never in her life had she tasted anything better.
• Weak as she was, she struggled to her feet, continuing searching for assistance.
(Never / So…that / Not until)。
技法三 强调句型——It is/was … that …
It wasn't until… that…,"迟迟才发生"的煎熬立刻被放大。结尾点题时,用 it is … that …
高考常用词:It is / was + 被强调成分 + that (who) … / It was not until… that… / It was only when… that…
范例:
• It wasn't until a couple of hours later that we opened the doors and began serving dinner.
• It was only when I tried to remove my head that I realized getting out was going to be less straightforward than getting in.
• It is the unyielding spirit that could transform an ordinary race into an unforgettable one. (2022·6新高考1卷·改编;原卷范文为 It was his brave heart and strong faith that…)
It was not until / only when…that;被强调的是"精神/品质"就把名词放中间,最适合放在结尾升华句。
高考常用词:形容词(短语)作状语:hungry and thirsty / depressed and helpless / deep in thought;with + n. + adj./doing/done/介词短语;To one's surprise / relief / joy
范例:
• Jane rose at the break of day, hungry and thirsty.
• With the biscuits my wife had made, I arrived at my brother's door.
• With his heart in his mouth, Kevin grabbed Mrs. Hill's home phone and called the police.
小贴士:形容词作状语最省字,适合补"人当时什么状态";with 复合结构适合补"随身带着什么 / 身体某部位怎么样"(with tears rolling down / with his head lowered)。
I was sad to think…,用 It saddened me to think of…;想写后悔,就上虚拟:If only…
It + v. + sb. + to do…;It occurred to me that… / It struck me that…;I decided it was not fair that…;If only + 过去完成时;Had + 主语 + done…, 主语 would have done;Without / But for…;wishing…
范例:
• It saddened me to think of how many people there were who didn't have a place to call home.
• If only she had not left her mobile phone in that bag with Tom.
• Had I not quarreled with Tom, I wouldn't be trapped in this awful place, confronted with the danger of death.
倒装式 Had I… 比 If I hadn't…
核心口诀:名词性从句负责"想什么、说什么"(that / whether / what);状语从句负责"什么时候、尽管怎样"(as / when / though);定语从句负责"哪一个"(which / who / where)。
高考常用词:宾语从句 that / whether / what;主语从句 It + be + adj. + that…;同位语从句 the idea/news/fact that…;状语从句 as / when / though / so that;定语从句 which / who / that / where / 介词 + which
范例:
• I was surprised that my dad allowed me to use the money as I wished.
• He never got into trouble, though sometimes he wanted to do risky things.
• The hungry bear followed his nose to our camp, which was surrounded by a high wire fence.
(I realized / It occurred to me that…);补充背景优先非限制性定语从句(, which / , who);让步用 though 比 but 更有层次。

I was invited to a cookout on an old friend’s farm in western Washington. I parked my car outside the farm and walked past a milking house which had apparently not been used in many years. A noise at a window caught my attention, so I entered it. It was a hummingbird (蜂鸟), desperately trying to escape. She was covered in spider-webs (蛛网) and was barely able to move her wings. She ceased her struggle the instant I picked her up.
With the bird in my cupped hand, I looked around to see how she had gotten in. The broken window glass was the likely answer. I stuffed a piece of cloth into the hole and took her outside, closing the door securely behind me.
When I opened my hand, the bird did not fly away; she sat looking at me with her bright eyes. I removed the sticky spider-webs that covered her head and wings. Still, she made no attempt to fly. Perhaps she had been struggling against the window too long and was too tired? Or too thirsty?
As I carried her up the blackberry-lined path toward my car where I kept a water bottle, she began to move. I stopped, and she soon took wing but did not immediately fly away.
Hovering (悬停), she approached within six inches of my face. For a very long moment, this tiny creature looked into my eyes, turning her head from side to side. Then she flew quickly out of sight.
During the cookout I told my hosts about the hummingbird incident. They promised to fix the window. As I was departing, my friends walked me to my car. I was standing by the car when a hummingbird flew to the center of our group and began hovering. She turned from person to person until she came to me. She again looked directly into my eyes, then let out a squeaking call and was gone. For a moment, all were speechless. Then someone said, “She must have come to say goodbye.”

For years, Nick spent every free moment on his skateboard, riding through the streets, practicing tricks, and laughing with friends. Skateboarding had always been his favorite sport and lifelong passion, and his love of skating helped him build a community where he truly belonged.
Everything changed one day when Nick was suddenly paralysed (瘫痪的) by Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS), a rare condition where the nervous system got attacked. What started as a sore muscle in his leg quickly turned into a medical emergency. He spent 13 weeks in intensive care at a hospital and seven months in recovery. Everything that once felt natural had to be learned all over again, like moving, standing, or even lifting his hands.
Being unable to skateboard during this long recovery left Nick deeply frustrated. Suddenly losing that part of himself made the days feel heavier. Learning about his struggle, Riseup, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to helping people rebuild their lives after illness, began checking in on him regularly. Volunteers brought updates from the skate scene, shared small stories to keep his spirits up, and guided him through exercises to regain strength and mobility. Their steady presence gave him the courage to recover with determination and he was slowly recovering some of his strength and mobility.
One quiet afternoon, while trying to distract (分心) himself, Nick explored Etsy, an online marketplace for handmade goods and noticed that many people were selling wooden sculptures they had carved themselves. Their colorful shapes caught his attention and awakened something inside him. With his old wooden boards piled in a corner at home and his desire to stay connected to skateboarding still strong, he suddenly imagined turning those worn-out boards into artwork. The volunteers, aware of his new idea, encouraged, “Go for it! Those boards have stories; make something out of them. And we’ ll be here to help.”
注意:
(1)续写词数应为150个左右;
Nick soon started experimenting.

I was cycling in rural Turkey — I couldn’t tell you where. My plan that day was to ride until I reached a village with somewhere I could stay. If that didn’t work out, I needed to get to the next town before sunset since that was the only spot I could really count on for a bed. Out there, finding anywhere to stay wasn’t exactly easy.
I was cycling quickly downhill, probably too fast for a gravel (碎石) road. I was riding around a blind corner when a car came screaming around the bend. As soon as I saw it, it was in front of me. The next thing I remember is lying in the middle of the road with the cylinder of my bike handle stuck in my leg, blood everywhere.
A week before that I had met Bryan, a bike tourist who’d ridden through more than 40 countries and settled in Turkey. I had his number because, like countless bike tourists before me, he’d let me stay the night in his small apartment in Antalya.
After I was discharged from hospital — a rural Turkish hospital in a town I didn’t even know the name of — I sat outside in a wheelchair, not knowing the exact state of my injury. I thought about calling everyone besides Bryan — Dad, Mum, best friend — but none of them could help. The only local number in my phone was Bryan’s.
I don’t remember much about the phone call. I know it wasn’t a simple request to stay a few more nights. I essentially asked Bryan to be my carer for an indefinite period. I didn’t know anyone else in Turkey and couldn’t walk. What I do remember is that the call was easy. There was no negotiation, just a welcoming: “Sure thing.”
注意:
1. 续写词数应为150左右;
When Bryan arrived, he greeted me like a friend, not a traveller with a sorry story.

Eventually my family organised a flight home from Antalya.

The familiar smell of garlic, soy sauce, and onion spread through the air as I opened my lunch bag to see what my mom had packed for me. On any other occasion, I would have been delighted to eat my mom’s braised pan- fried tofu: a Chinese dish that I often ate for dinner. But not today, the day a nice girl had invited me, the new girl at school, to sit with her friends during lunch.
“Charis, over here!” My new friend was waving her arms, trying to get my attention.
As I prepared to walk over to the table, memories of elementary and middle school lunch times resurfaced. I remembered my embarrassment as my friends would hold their noses, or stay away from me when I brought homemade Chinese food, tofu. I remembered how my embarrassment shifted to anger when I complained about the smell to my mom.
I had argued with my mom that I wanted “normal” food for lunch. I remembered the look on my mom’s face, a mix between disappointment and confusion. But I was determined and she gave in because she worried about my making new friends every time we moved. So for the remainder of middle school, my mom packed odorless (无味的) , non-Chinese fare like ham and cheese sandwiches. However, that day, she was in a rush to get to her new job and packed me leftovers from dinner.
As soon as I got to my new lunch table, I tried to hide my bright lunch bag under my seat before anyone noticed the strong smell. I looked up to see the other girls at the table, opening their normal American lunches. I sat quietly, trying not to be noticed when Katrina, a new acquaintance, asked where my food was.
“I’m not really hungry,” I replied in an insecure voice. But Katrina had already seen me carry my lunch so she said, “Then, I’ll eat it!” The other girls laughed — apparently Katrina was known to be the lunch scavenger.
注意:
I didn’t want to be rude to a new friend, so I reluctantly dragged out my lunch bag and unzipped it.
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
It took me a second to recognize that my homemade Chinese food was not being rejected.

I wanted to make amends, so I decided to…
Encouraged by his words, I agreed to give it a try.
Because he encouraged me, I agreed

【解析】技法五(it 作形式主语):It occurred to me that… That my mother was… occurred to me 的头重脚轻;技法六(同位语从句 + 宾语从句):The thought that…
It wasn’t until I found the notebook in my own locker that I realized how badly I had wronged her. With a box of her favourite biscuits in my hand, I waited at the school gate, which was already crowded with students. I was ashamed that I had judged her so quickly, and the words “I’m sorry” felt heavier than ever.
When I found it, I realized… 更有转折力度;技法四(with 复合结构):with a box of biscuits in my hand 用道具交代道歉的诚意;技法六(定语从句 + that 从句):which was already crowded 补出校门口的场景,be ashamed that…
Never in my life had I felt such pressure as when the baton touched my palm. Encouraged by the roar from the stands, I threw myself forward, my arms pumping like pistons. It struck me that finishing together mattered far more than crossing the line first.
独立主格补出奔跑姿态,一句两个视角;技法五(it 用法):It struck me that…
Having burned two trays of bread, I finally got the last one right, proud but nervous. With the warm loaf wrapped in a cloth, I knocked at the door, my heart beating fast. Grandma opened it and took my hand, smiling as if nothing had ever happened between us.
【解析】技法一(非谓语·having done):Having burned two trays… With the warm loaf wrapped…

A few weeks later, I went to the farm again. As my car neared it ,my thoughts drifted back to the moment when I rescued the hummingbird from the spider’s web. I rushed back to the deserted house. It was a great comfort that the original hole in the window was nowhere to be found. Leaving the house, I couldn’t help wondering how it was getting on now. Had it managed to find its way back home, or was it still out there somewhere struggling to survive?
I was just about to leave when the hummingbird appeared. A flash of movement caught my attention. I turned around to see the same hummingbird hovering in the air. It seemed that the bird was waiting for me, its beady eyes locked on mine as if trying to convey some deep, unspoken gratitude. I felt a surge of relief and awe at the sight of this sound and grateful creature, and I knew that I would always cherish the memories we shared as I climbed into my car and drove away.

With the money he earned, Nick chose to give back.
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Nick soon started experimenting. He rummaged through his old skateboards, selecting those with the most character—scratches, dents, and faded stickers. With trembling hands but a determined heart, he began carving the wood into abstract shapes, inspired by his skateboarding memories. As he sanded and painted each piece, he poured his emotions into the artwork, transforming worn-out boards into vibrant sculptures. To his delight, his creations quickly gained attention online, and orders started pouring in, filling him with a renewed sense of purpose.
With the money he earned, Nick chose to give back. He donated a portion to Riseup, the organization that had supported him during his darkest days, hoping to help others facing similar struggles. He also used the funds to organize free carving workshops for patients in rehabilitation centers, sharing his story and skills to inspire them. Nick realized that though he could no longer ride a skateboard, he could still create and uplift others, turning his pain into a powerful force for good.

______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
When Bryan arrived, he greeted me like a friend, not a traveler with a sorry story. He gently lifted me from the wheelchair into his car, avoiding my injured leg, and put my broken bike in the trunk. Back at his apartment, he cooked simple warm meals, helped me change bandages daily, and pushed me around for fresh air. He never complained about the trouble, instead sharing his bike trip stories to distract me from pain. His patience and kindness turned my tough days in a foreign land into a warm memory.
Eventually my family booked a flight home from Antalya. On departure day, Bryan drove me to the airport, carrying my luggage and supporting me all the way. Before checking in, I thanked him repeatedly for his selfless help. He smiled and said, “That’s what travelers do for each other.” As I boarded, I saw him waving warmly. Though we rarely meet now, his kindness lingers in my heart, reminding me true friendship can bloom between strangers unexpectedly.

It took me a second to recognize that my homemade Chinese food was not being rejected.
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
I didn’t want to be rude to a new friend, so I reluctantly dragged out my lunch bag and unzipped it. The moment I partially lifted the lid, I could practically taste the garlic and soy sauce. I expected them to turn away — and turn me away. What I did not expect was for Katrina to instantly grab a small piece of tofu and eat it ravenously. And I most certainly did not expect for her to encourage the rest of the table to try my lunch.
It took me a second to recognize that my homemade Chinese food was not being rejected. In fact, it had become a source of personal pride. My new friends were going on about how lucky I was that my mom took the time to prepare a cooked meal for me. They were enchanted by the fact that tofu could actually taste good. While I didn’t get to eat any of my mom’s pan-fried tofu, I was full of pride and gratitude. When I arrived home, my mom noticed that the container was empty, she hesitated before asking, “How was the food?” I paused a moment before I replied, “Perfect.”
