根据文章第二段“We offer the newest bicycles in a wide variety, including basic bikes with foot brake (刹车), bikes with hand brake and gears (排挡), bikes with child seats, and children’s bikes. 根据文章最后一段“The tour departs from Dam Square every hour on the hour, starting at 1:00 pm every day. (旅游团每小时从大坝广场出发,每天下午1点开始)”可知,导游城市之旅从大坝广场开始。故选D。 【点睛】 B William Lindesay, a famous Great Wall expert and conservationist, and his wife Wu Qi have traveled the globe by the back paths, providing their sons with a unique growing environment. Sun hats, backpacks and sneakers (运动鞋)—these are the day-to-day must-haves for the family. Most of their trips seem far from relaxing—cultural study in the hot and dry desert, a 53-kilometer hiking tour of New Zealand, a one-day climb to three English mountaintops and a six-day train ride from Beijing to Moscow. Many assume the family must be wealthy and can afford their global travel, but they are not. Lindesay says they just choose to spend money on travel and eschew pricey hotels and restaurants where possible. Lindesay mentions the trip to Moscow as an example. Instead of taking a taxi from the railway station to the hotel, they took the subway. “We crossed the city for saving money, communicated with local people, and saw they are people just like us, everywhere. We arrived at our destination feeling comfortable.” However, their journeys, which can last weeks or months, have sometimes been inconsistent with their children’s schooling. Wu remembers once Lindesay let their elder son ask for leave so that they could go to New York for a 45-day lecture tour. Therefore the son missed his final exam. Things like that bother the family all the time. Lindesay attaches great importance to learning out of the classroom, saying that children might score well on school tests, but traveling outside, in distant lands with different languages, cultures, and political structures, is the real test. “You can only get streetwise on the street. You can only get worldly-wise when seeing the world,” he says. 4. How can we describe the Lindesays’ trips? A. Pleasant. B. Conventional C. Challenging. D. Dangerous. 5. What does the underlined word “eschew” in paragraph 3 mean? A. Visit. B. Avoid. C. Compare. D. Evaluate. 6. What problem does the family meet when traveling? A. They have scheduling conflicts. B. They suffer from a tight budget. C. They are faced with language barriers. D. They hold different educational ideas. 7. Which statement may Lindesay agree with according to the text? A. Toughness is the best assistant of will. B. Man who travels far knows more. C. Actions speak louder than words. D. There is no royal road to learning. C 5. B 6. A 7. 根据第二段“Most of their trips seem far from relaxing—cultural study in the hot and dry desert, a 53-kilometer hiking tour of New Zealand, a one-day climb to three English mountaintops and a six-day train ride from Beijing to Moscow. (他们的大多数旅行似乎都远非放松——在炎热干燥的沙漠中进行文化研究,53公里的新西兰徒步旅行,一天攀登三座英国山顶,以及从北京到莫斯科的六天火车旅行。)”可知,林赛他们一家人的旅行很有挑战性。故选C。 【5题详解】 词句猜测题。根据第三段“Many assume the family must be wealthy and can afford their global travel, but they are not. Lindesay says they just choose to spend money on travel and eschew pricey hotels and restaurants where possible. Lindesay mentions the trip to Moscow as an example. Instead of taking a taxi from the railway station to the hotel, they took the subway. 根据第四段“However, their journeys, which can last weeks or months, have sometimes been inconsistent with their children’s schooling. Wu remembers once Lindesay let their elder son ask for leave so that they could go to New York for a 45-day lecture tour. Therefore the son missed his final exam. Things like that bother the family all the time. (然而,他们的旅程可能会持续数周或数月,有时与孩子的学业不一致。吴琪记得有一次林赛让他们的大儿子请假,让他们去纽约做45天的巡回演讲。因此,儿子错过了期末考试。这样的事情一直困扰着这个家庭。)”可知,林赛他们一家人的旅行会和孩子的学习安排不一致。故选A。 根据最后一段“Lindesay attaches great importance to learning out of the classroom, saying that children might score well on school tests, but traveling outside, in distant lands with different languages, cultures, and political structures, is the real test. “You can only get streetwise on the street. You can only get worldly-wise when seeing the world,” he says. (林赛非常重视在课堂外学习,他说孩子们可能在学校考试中得分很高,但真正的考试是在不同语言、文化和政治结构的遥远国度里外出旅行。他说:“你只能在街上变得有街头智慧。只有看到世界,你才能变得有世俗智慧。”)”可知,在林赛看来,只有远行才能让人更有智慧。故选B。 C The goal of this book is to make the case for digital minimalism, including a detailed exploration of what it asks and why it works, and then to teach you how to adopt this philosophy if you decide it’s right for you. To do so, I divided the book into two parts. In part one, I describe the philosophical foundations of digital minimalism, starting with an examination of the forces that are making so many people’s digital lives increasingly intolerable, before moving on to a detailed discussion of the digital minimalism philosophy. Part one concludes by introducing my suggested method for adopting this philosophy: the digital declutter. This process requires you to step away from optional online activities for thirty days. At the end of the thirty days, you will then add back a small number of carefully chosen online activities that you believe will provide massive benefits to the things you value. In the final chapter of part one, I’ll guide you through carrying out your own digital declutter. In doing so, I’ll draw on an experiment I ran in 2018 in which over 1,600 people agreed to perform a digital declutter. You’ll hear these participants’ stories and learn what strategies worked well for them, and what traps they encountered that you should avoid. The second part of this book takes a closer look at some ideas that will help you cultivate (培养) a sustainable digital minimalism lifestyle. In these chapters, I examine issues such as the importance of solitude (独处) and the necessity of cultivating high-quality leisure to replace the time most now spent on mindless device use. Each chapter concludes with a collection of practices, which are designed to help you act on the big ideas of the chapter. You can view these practices as a toolbox meant to aid your efforts to build a minimalist lifestyle that works for your particular circumstances. 8. What is the book aimed at? A. Teaching critical thinking skills. B. Advocating a simple digital lifestyle. C. Solving philosophical problems. D. Promoting the use of a digital device. 9. What does the underlined word “declutter” in paragraph 3 mean? A. Clear-up. B. Add-on. C. Check-in. D. Take-over. 10. What is presented in the final chapter of part one? A. Theoretical models. B. Statistical methods. C. Practical examples. D. Historical analyses. 11. What does the author suggest readers do with the practices offered in part two? A. Use them as needed. B. Recommend them to friends. C. Evaluate their effects. D. Identify the ideas behind them. B 9. A 10. C 11. 根据文章第一段“The goal of this book is to make the case for digital minimalism, including a detailed exploration of what it asks and why it works, and then to teach you how to adopt this philosophy if you decide it’s right for you. (这本书的目标是为数字极简主义辩护,包括详细探索它的要求和为什么有效,然后如果你认为它适合你,教你如何采用这种哲学)”可知,这本书的目的是倡导简单的数字生活方式。故选B。 【9题详解】 词句猜测题。根据画线词下文“This process requires you to step away from optional online activities for thirty days. At the end of the thirty days, you will then add back a small number of carefully chosen online activities that you believe will provide massive benefits to the things you value. (这个过程要求你在30天内远离可选的在线活动。在30天结束的时候,你再加上一些你认为会给你所看重的东西带来巨大好处的精心挑选的在线活动)”可推知,画线词“declutter”的意思是“清理”,对在线活动进行清理和挑选。故选A。 通过文章第四段“In the final chapter of part one, I’ll guide you through carrying out your own digital declutter. In doing so, I’ll draw on an experiment I ran in 2018 in which over 1,600 people agreed to perform a digital declutter. (在第一部分的最后一章中,我将指导您进行自己的数字清理。在这样做的过程中,我将借鉴我在2018年进行的一项实验,在该实验中,1600多人同意进行数字清理)”可推知,第一部分的最后一章介绍了实验与数字清理的实际例子。故选C。 【11题详解】 推理判断题。通过文章最后一段“You can view these practices as a toolbox meant to aid your efforts to build a minimalist lifestyle that works for your particular circumstances. (你可以将这些实践视为一个工具箱,旨在帮助你建立一种适合自己特定情况的极简主义生活方式)”可推知,作者建议读者根据需要与实际情况使用第二部分中提及的实践。故选A。 D Where is “space” exactly? This may seem like a simple question, but the answer may be more difficult than you think. Nowadays, most countries are generally in agreement that space begins when Earth’s atmosphere ends. But no one can tell where atmosphere actually ends and outer space begins. This leaves the door open for a variety of explanations until the Karman Line was recognized by international laws. The so-called Karman Line is an imaginary line 100 kilometers above Earth’s surface. Once this line is crossed, the air is too thin and traditional planes would need to reach the speed of 30,564 kilometers per hour or risk falling back to Earth. According to the international laws, once pilots and aircraft cross that line, they are recognized as astronauts and spacecraft and are free to conduct space operations without concern for international borders (边境). In the early age of space exploration, the US defined space differently and insisted that space start 19.3 kilometers below the Karman Line, since the US was confident that it would lead and remain to be the leader in the traditional aircraft industry. Well aware that the US wanted to operate advanced spying (侦查) aircraft safely, many developing countries opposed the idea and sought to establish much higher space limits — 965.6 kilometers above Earth’s surface. This space limit makes things a bit difficult for every country, though. At that height, even the International Space Station and Tiangong Space Station (orbiting between 320 to 435 kilometers up), and many satellites (orbiting 869 kilometers up) would not be considered spacecraft! In recent years, the US has been trying to determine a “safer border of space”. In 2009, it suggested that the border of space begin at l18 kilometers above Earth’s surface. What was its argument this time? It said that many breakthroughs have been made in space and spying technologies by other countries! 12. What is correct about the Kármán Line according to the international laws? A. It is unsafe for some countries. B. Traditional planes should not cross it. C. Pilots can fly freely above it. D. It is the highest line pilots can reach. 13. Many less developed countries suggested that space begin at_______. A. 965.6 kilometers above Earth’s surface B. 118 kilometers above Earth’s surface C. 100 kilometers above Earth’s surface D. 90.7 kilometers above Earth’s surface 14. What does the author most probably think of the US’ suggestions? A. Smart. B. Unfair. C. Scientific. D. Uncreative. 15. What is the best title for the text? A. Where Does Space Begin Exactly? B. How High Should the Karman Line Be? C. How Can We Protect Our National Borders? D. Why Does the US Want to Change the Karman Line? C 13. A 14. B 15. 根据文章第一段“According to the international laws, once pilots and aircraft cross that line, they are recognized as astronauts and spacecraft and are free to conduct space operations without concern for international borders (边境).(根据国际法,一旦飞行员和飞机跨过了这条线,它们就被看做是宇航员或者宇宙飞船,能自由地进行太空操作,而不用担心国际边界的问题。)” 根据文章第四段“Well aware that the US wanted to operate advanced spying(侦查) aircraft safely, many developing countries opposed the idea and sought to establish much higher space limits—965.6 kilometers above Earth’s surface.(知道美国想要安全地操控先进的侦察飞船,因此很多发展中国家反对这一想法,并寻求建立更高的太空限制——在地球表面以上965.6千米处。)” 根据文章最后一段“In recent years, the US has been trying to determine a “safer border of space”. In 2009, it suggested that the border of space begin at l18 kilometers above Earth’s surface. What was its argument this time? It said that many breakthroughs have been made in space and spying technologies by other countries!(近年来,美国一直在试图确定一个“更安全的太空边界”。2009年,它提出太空边界始于地球表面以上118公里处。这次它的论点是什么?它说其他国家在太空和间谍技术方面取得了许多突破!)”可知,美国因为认为其他国家在太空和间谍技术方面取得了许多突破,因此提出太空边界应始于地球表面以上118公里处,这只是为了它自己的利益出发,故可推知,作者认为美国的建议是不公平的,故选B。 【15题详解】 主旨大意题。根据文章第一段“Where is “space” exactly? This may seem like a simple question, but the answer may be more difficult than you think.(太空到底从哪里开始?这似乎是第一个简单的问题,但答案却比你想象中难得多。)”可知,文章在第一段提出关于太空的起点在哪里的问题,后文分别介绍了不同的国家有不同的看法。由此可知,A项“太空到底从哪里开始?”为文章的最佳标题。故选A。 An Unsung Hero Need a break between classes or just a quick pick-me-up in the morning? The College Cafe has just that, and more. _____16_____ Catherine Murphy, a cafe worker in a green shirt and black hat, makes sure that each customer gets exactly what they order. She goes back and forth between machines to make the drinks. _____17_____ As the customer grabs the drink from her hand, she smiles and says, “Hello, how is your day?” Even when the line is getting longer, she doesn’t let it get in the way of her genuine conversations. Murphy gets up at a quarter to five and drives thirty minutes every day to get to work on time. _____18_____ “I do so because I like to make coffee for the students. I know they need it in the morning,” Murphy said. Being a mother and wife has helped her become the woman she is. She believes she is here to serve. One thing Murphy may not know is that her smile is contagious (有感染力) and can be the difference in a student having a much better day than they were having before seeing her. Joanna Wright, a senior political science major, loves coffee and goes to the cafe at least six days a week. _____19_____ “Catherine always has a huge smile on her face, which always puts me in a cheerful mood,” Wright said. “I enjoy working in the cafe,” Murphy said. _____20_____ She has every intention of staying and continuing doing what she loves. A. The cafe closes at 9 pm every day. B. She has two children aged eight and four. C. Sometimes she arrives early to serve the students early. D. After finishing an order, she calls out the name on the cup. E. Not only does this cafe serve up drinks, it also serves up smiles. F. Going to the cafe starts her day off good and gets her ready for class. G. She has served here for 17 years and can’t imagine working anywhere else. E 17. D 18. C 19. F 20. 【16题详解】 根据上文“Need a break between classes or just a quick pick-me-up in the morning? The College Cafe has just that, and more. (课间需要休息或早上快速提神?大学咖啡馆提供这些,还有更多。)”可知,开篇引出咖啡馆的功能,空格处需揭示“更多”的内涵。E选项“Not only does this cafe serve up drinks, it also serves up smiles. (这家咖啡馆不仅提供饮品,还提供微笑。)”通过“Not only...also...” 【17题详解】 根据上文“She goes back and forth between machines to make the drinks. (她在机器之间来回制作饮品。)”及下文“As the customer grabs the drink from her hand, she smiles and says, “Hello, how is your day?” Even when the line is getting longer, she doesn’t let it get in the way of her genuine conversations. (当顾客从她手中接过饮品时,她微笑着说:“你好,今天过得怎么样?”即使队伍越来越长,她也不会让这影响到她真诚的交流。)”可推知,设空处需补充制作饮品后的环节。D选项“After finishing an order, she calls out the name on the cup. (完成订单后,她会喊出杯子上的名字。)”中的“finishing an order”衔接“make the drinks”,“calls out the name”引出顾客接饮品的场景,形成“制作—叫号—交付”的完整流程。故选D项。 【18题详解】 根据上文“Murphy gets up at a quarter to five and drives thirty minutes every day to get to work on time. (墨菲每天四点四十五起床,开车三十分钟准时上班。)”及下文“I do so because I like to make coffee for the students. (我这样做是因为我喜欢为学生煮咖啡。)”可推知,设空处需进一步体现她对工作的投入。C选项“Sometimes she arrives early to serve the students early. (有时她会提前到达,提前为学生服务。)”中的“arrives early”补充了“准时上班”之外的主动性,“serve the students early”呼应“like to make coffee for the students”,展现其敬业精神。故选C项。 【19题详解】 根据上文“Joanna Wright, a senior political science major, loves coffee and goes to the cafe at least six days a week. (乔安娜・赖特是政治学专业的大四学生,她热爱咖啡,每周至少去这家咖啡馆六天。)”及下文““Catherine always has a huge smile on her face, which always puts me in a cheerful mood,” Wright said. (赖特说“凯瑟琳总是笑容满面,这总能让我心情愉快。”)”可推知,设空处需说明她频繁去咖啡馆的原因。F选项“Going to the cafe starts her day off good and gets her ready for class. (去咖啡馆让她一天有个好的开始,并为上课做好准备。)”中的“starts her day off good”解释了“每周去六天”的动机,且“cheerful mood”与墨菲的微笑服务形成因果关系。故选F项。 【20题详解】 根据下文“She has every intention of staying and continuing doing what she loves. (她完全打算留下来,继续做自己喜欢的事。)”可推知,设空处需体现她对工作的长期投入。G选项“She has served here for 17 years and can’t imagine working anywhere else. Nobody can inspire us like great teachers. When I arrived, the building was completely dark except for one light in a window. I walked to the door and knocked. After a long wait, the door opened. A small woman in her 80s stood before me. By her side was a small suitcase. “Would you carry my bag out to the car?” she said. I took her suitcase and gave her my arm. We walked slowly to the street. She kept thanking me for my kindness. “It’s nothing,” I told her. “I try to treat my passengers how I want my mother treated.” She thanked me again and again. When we got in the taxi, she gave me an address. Then she asked if I could drive through the downtown. “It’s not the shortest way,” I answered. She said, “I’m in no hurry. I’m on my way to a hospice (临终安养院).” 注意: (1)续写词数应为150个左右; (2)请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答 I saw her eyes shining with tears. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ We drove in silence to the hospice. She turned to the window, watching the sleeping city. “I used to walk here with my husband,” she whispered. I slowed down, letting her memorize every corner — the old bakery, the park bench, the library. She pressed her palm against the glass, as if touching the past. “Thank you,” she murmured. I nodded silently, my throat tight, driving gently through the familiar streets she once loved, grateful for this quiet moment of connection. We drove in silence to the hospice. As we pulled up, two nurses were waiting for us. They greeted her warmly. I fetched her small suitcase and placed it by her feet. She held my hand tightly. “You gave me a beautiful last ride,” she whispered. I helped her into the wheelchair, watching until the doors closed behind her. Driving away, I felt the night had grown softer, touched by an unexpected kindness that would stay with me forever. 词汇积累 行为类 ①紧紧握住手:hold my hand tightly/clasp my hand firmly/squeeze my hand gently ②开车离开:drive away/pull away/depart from the spot 情绪类 ①温柔地:gently/softly/tenderly ②感激的:grateful/thankful/appreciative 【点睛】【高分句型1】I slowed down, letting her memorize every corner — the old bakery, the park bench, the library.(运用了现在分词作状语) 【高分句型2】Driving away, I felt the night had grown softer, touched by an unexpected kindness that would stay with me forever.(运用了现在分词作状语,that引导的限制性定语从句) 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 西安市第七十一中学 2025—2026学年度第二学期高一年级英语期末考试试卷 考试时长:120分钟 试卷满分:150分 班级:______ 姓名:______ 考号:______ 注意事项: 1. 1.What kind of dress will the woman try on? B William Lindesay, a famous Great Wall expert and conservationist, and his wife Wu Qi have traveled the globe by the back paths, providing their sons with a unique growing environment. C The goal of this book is to make the case for digital minimalism, including a detailed exploration of what it asks and why it works, and then to teach you how to adopt this philosophy if you decide it’s right for you. D Where is “space” exactly?
