第四课时　Section B（1a～1e） 一、教学内容 1．Know about different resolutions. 2．Talk about how to make resolutions and the importance of making resolutions. 二、课时教学目标 Language Abilities Grasp the following important points as well as be able to read and write correctly. Key words and phrases：able，achieve，physical，health，healthily，photography，confident，organized，wisely，possible，paragraph，introduce，meaning，fail，ahead，stick to，have to do with，take up Key sentences：① A resolution is a promise that you make to yourself. ②Although there are differences，most resolutions have one thing in common：People hardly ever keep them！③And some resolutions have to do with self-improvement，like becoming more confident or organized. ④Sometimes the resolutions may be too difficult to keep. ⑤To make your resolutions work，you need to plan them wisely. Learning Abilities ●Learn to collect relevant information，screen，classify，and integrate the acquired information，and extract key elements such as different types of resolutions and their contents. ●Learn to use accurate and fluent language to expound on how to make resolutions and the importance of making them. Thinking Qualities ●Be able to use logical thinking to systematically sort out their thoughts when analyzing the characteristics of different resolutions and exploring methods of making resolutions. ●Be able to think critically about different concepts of resolutions and methods of making them. ●Be able to break through conventional thinking and propose unique resolution contents and ways of making resolutions. However，due to limitations in their thinking abilities and vocabulary，they may not be able to express their opinions accurately and comprehensively，and may have difficulty organizing clear and persuasive language for discussion. 四、教学过程 Step 1　Pre-reading(1a) 1．Prepare several “resolution blind boxes” and ask students to put a piece of paper in each box，with different types of resolutions written on them，covering aspects like health，study，and life skills. Then prepare a big box to hold the blind boxes. 2．Invite students to come to the front，draw a blind box，and read out the content of the paper. 3．Ask the whole class，“Do you think this is a good resolution? Why or why not？” Guide students to have a brief discussion. 4．T：Look! I've got some special boxes. Each box has a secret resolution inside. Let's see what you usually plan to do. 【设计意图】通过决议盲盒的游戏，调动学生的积极性，并回顾已学知识。 Work on 1a 1．Ask students to discuss the questions. Q1：What kinds of plans did you make last year? Step 2　Reading(1b～1d) Work on 1b 1．Ask students to read the text，and put the sentences in the correct places. 2．Ask students to share the answers and help to correct the answers if necessary. T：What are resolutions？Let's read the text together and find them out. Work on 1c 1．Ask students to read the text again and match each paragraph with its main purpose. 2．Ask students to share the answers and help to correct their mistakes if necessary. Ask students to discuss the question：Is it useful to make resolutions? 2．Both teams first prepare their arguments separately. During the debate，the two sides take turns presenting their views and challenging each other's arguments. The teacher acts as a referee to control the time and maintain order. 3．Guide the students to summarize the importance of making resolutions. T：Whether you agree or not，we can all see that resolutions play an important role if they are made and followed properly. 4．Ask students to create “Resolution Guardian Cards” that include the content of the resolution，signatures of group members，and a progress－recording column. Each group fills out a Resolution Guardian Card，and every member signs it to commit to joint execution. 5．Ask each group leader to supervise each other and regularly record the progress.
