根据第一段中“Post-00s is a documentary about growing up. It covers almost every aspect of millennials’ experiences on their path toward adolescence — their struggles with schoolwork, their relationship with peers, their confusion if a younger brother or sister is born into the family, and their growing desire to keep a distance from their parents.(《零零后》是一部关于成长的纪录片。它涵盖了千禧一代在迈向青春期过程中几乎方方面面的经历——他们面对学业的挣扎、与同龄人的关系、当家中出现弟弟或妹妹时的困惑,以及日益增长的想要与父母保持距离的愿望)”可知,《零零后》这部纪录片包含了他们在学业上的挣扎,与同龄人间的关系以及他们越来越想和父母保持距离的愿望,而没有提到他们如何帮助照顾弟弟妹妹。
5.细节理解题。根据第三段中“And while we enjoy the truthfulness of the stories because nothing is set in advance, we also can’t help but feel the cruelty of reality. After all, there’s no rewriting of the script and there’s no turning back — this is real life.(尽管我们欣赏故事的真实感,因为一切皆无法预设,但我们也不得不感受到现实的残酷。毕竟,没有剧本可以重写,也没有回头的可能——这就是真实的生活)”和第四段“This realness can also be seen in Boyhood, a 2014 film that won the Silver Bear award for best director at the 64th Berlin International Film Festival. During a period of 12 years, the film follows the life of Mason Jr — played by US actor Ellar Coltrane — from when he was 6 to when he finished high school.(这种真实感也体现在2014年的电影《少年时代》中,该片在第64届柏林国际电影节上荣获最佳导演银熊奖。影片历时12年,讲述了由美国演员Ellar Coltrane饰演的Mason Jr从6岁到高中毕业的成长历程)”可知,《零零后》和《少年时代》都是普通孩子成长的纪实作品,都基于真实生活。
6.细节理解题。根据第三段中““Coming-of-age” stories, as they’re known, have a special appeal. They satisfy our curiosity of looking at someone else’s life, and we become more and more attached to the characters as if we truly know them.(所谓“成长”故事具有独特的吸引力。它们满足了我们对他人生活的好奇,让我们仿佛真的了解了这些人物,从而产生强烈的依恋感)”可知,观众被“成长”故事吸引是因为它们展现了生命的真实。
7.主旨大意题。通读全文,结合第三段“And while we enjoy the truthfulness of the stories because nothing is set in advance, we also can’t help but feel the cruelty of reality. After all, there’s no rewriting of the script and there’s no turning back — this is real life. (我们享受故事的真实性,因为没有任何事情是预先设定的,同时我们也忍不住感受到现实的残酷。毕竟,没有剧本可以重写,也没有回头路——这就是真实的生活)”、第四段“This realness can also be seen in Boyhood (这种真实性也可以在《少年时代》中看到)”和最后一段“While coming-of-age stories may look ordinary on the outside, they often allow us to look underneath the surface and see something extraordinary — the power of life itself. (虽然成长故事表面上可能看起来很普通,但它们常常让我们看到表面之下的非凡之处——生命本身的力量)”可知,文章通过介绍纪录片《零零后》和电影《少年时代》,强调了这类“成长故事”的真实性及其反映生活本质的力量。故C项“Documentary is real life (纪录片就是真实生活)”能概括文章内容,最适合做文章标题。

According to the film’s editor David Jancso, AI was used to perfect their speech. “They did a wonderful job, but we also wanted to perfect it so that even locals will not notice any difference.” Another Oscar-winning film, the musical Emilia Perez, used AI to improve the singing of the actors.(在这部电影中,布罗迪和搭档菲丽希缇·琼斯都必须说匈牙利语,这是一种发音非常困难的语言。

根据第二段“qiaopi — a unique form of remittance (汇款) letter that combined family news with funds. Every letter began the same way, ‘My Wife Shurou, I hope this letter finds you well.’(qiaopi——一种独特的汇款信,结合了家庭消息与资金。每封信开头都是‘我的妻子淑柔,愿此信安好’)”可知,qiaopi(侨批)是海外华人寄回家、包含个人消息和汇款的信件。
13.细节理解题。根据第三段“when the death notice arrived, she found herself unable to deliver such heartbreaking news to a woman she had never met. Instead, she made an extraordinary choice: she hid the notice and began writing to Shurou, enclosing money from her own hard work. (当死讯传来时,她发现自己无法将这令人心碎的消息告诉一个从未见过的女人。相反,她做出了一个非凡的选择:隐瞒死讯,开始给淑柔写信,并附上自己辛苦赚来的钱。)”可知,谢南芝因无法忍受告知真相的残忍,选择用写信和汇款支持叶淑柔。
14.推理判断题。根据第四段“there were no dramatic conflicts. Nanzhi struggled to recognize her visitor and simply asked whether the salted pork she had sent decades ago was tasty. ‘It was good,’ Shurou replied softly. ‘Then I’ll send more,’ Nanzhi said. (没有戏剧性的冲突。南芝费力地认出来访者,只问她几十年前寄的咸猪肉是否好吃。‘很好吃,’淑柔轻声回答。‘那我再寄些,’南芝说。)”可知,两人对话简单日常,却暗含深厚情感。
15.主旨大意题。根据最后一段“In an interview, the director noted that the film is a praise of qingyi , a Chinese concept including loyalty, gratitude, and a deep sense of moral responsibility toward others.(在一次采访中,这位导演指出,这部电影是对“情义”的赞扬,这个汉语概念里包括忠诚、感激和对他人的深刻道德责任感。)”和“the most enduring bonds are sometimes created not by blood, but by a silent commitment to another person’s wellbeing.(最持久的纽带有时不是由血缘建立的,而是由对他人幸福的无声奉献建立的)”并结合全文可知,文章核心是谢南芝作为陌生人,以18年无声奉献连接两个家庭,体现超越血缘的“情义”。选项D“Beyond Blood: How a Stranger’s Silent Devotion Spanned Two Families (超越血缘:一个陌生人的无声奉献如何连接两个家庭)”最贴合主题,适合作标题。

A. chasing追逐;B. seeking寻找;C. pursuing追求;D. following跟随。
A. practice练习;B. habit习惯;C. custom风俗;D. routine常规,例行公事。
A. stuck卡住;B. locked锁;C. trapped使陷入困境;D. fixed修理。根据前文“There, I met Leo, a ten-year-old boy with autism (自闭症).”
A. rushed冲;B. walked散步;C. wandered漫步;D. stepped踏。
A. left离开;B. entered进入;C. escaped逃走;D. approached靠近。根据后文“He didn’t clap or smile, but his tense shoulders relaxed.”
A. pointed指;B. turned转动;C. flickered闪烁;D. rose上升。根据前文“When I finished, he reached out a single finger and pressed one key.”
A. practiced练习;B. explored探索;C. trained训练;D. studied学习。根据后文“I’d play a few notes; he’d answer with one. I’d create a soft rhythm; he’d tap the side of the piano, matching it imperfectly but with startling focus.”
A. corrections纠正;B. praises赞扬;C. suggestions建议;D. comments评论。根据上文“I’d play a few notes; he’d answer with one. I’d create a soft rhythm; he’d tap the side of the piano, matching it imperfectly but with startling (惊人的) focus. ”可知,作者和Leo在探索音乐,所以没有目标,没有乐谱,也没有纠正。

31.考查名词。句意:我听着,然后用他的主题的一个变奏来回答。A. repetition重复;B. variation变奏;C. copy副本;D. imitation模仿。

How is everything going? Hearing that you had a great passion for new-found/newly-built clubs in our school, but you had no idea to make a decision, I strongly recommend joining the Folk Music Club.
First and foremost, admiring the beauty of folk music is a good choice for you to relax and can help you deepen the understanding of traditional Chinese culture. Additionally, there are lots of professional teachers who lead us to sing songs and introduce traditional Chinese musical instruments to us. Furthermore, it holds a music party monthly ,which is a dazzling and appealing event to participate in.
Finally, you just need to send the e-mail to the club and show your interest in it, and then you can join in. Hopefully my suggestion will be of great help to you. I am looking forward to your coming to the Folk Music Club.
47.One possible version:
That night, Lily spread out the music sheet and studied Mr. Thomas’s notes carefully. His handwriting was neat, and each difficult part was marked with small reminders and explanations. Following the notes, she picked up her violin and tried again. This time, she slowed down, focusing on the emotion rather than perfection. When she played the difficult note, her fingers moved smoothly, and she approached it with much more confidence. She practiced late into the night, with Mr. Thomas’s words echoing in her mind.
On the day of the competition, Lily walked onto the stage with confidence. She glanced at the audience and spotted Mr. Thomas sitting in the front row, smiling at her. Taking a deep breath, she started playing. Every note was full of feeling, and she played the final part successfully. When she finished, the audience erupted in applause. After the competition, Mr. Thomas told her proudly that she had played it better than he ever could. Lily realized that the faded music sheet was more than just notes — it was a gift of hope and courage.

National Geographic Film Concert: Secrets of the Whales
This month, the Jack Singer Concert Hall will invite audiences into the underwater world of legendary photographer Brian Skerry and producer James Cameron in National Geographic Film Concert: Secrets of the Whales on May 26-28. With none other than Jann Arden, celebrated musician, actor and author, as a guest commentator guiding audiences into the complex and fascinating families, culture, and play that reveal the secret lives of whales, the whole experience is brought to life by a full orchestra (管弦乐队) and world-class conductor Anthony Parnther.
Called “visually appealing” by The New York Times, this concert presentation brings the most powerful moments of the Emmy-winning Disney+ series together, transporting audiences into the lives of five different whale families as they adapt to ecological changes to their habitats.
“Secrets of the Whales was the most ambitious project of my career as a photographer. If we could see the ocean and our planet through the lens (镜头) of the culture of another species, that could change our view of the natural world and our relation to it,” says Skerry. “Those connections, the communities and the cultures the whales share all mirror human culture, but sometimes we forget about that.”
Brian Skerry has spent nearly four decades exploring and documenting the world’s oceans. He spent more than three years in 24 locations shooting footage for the four-part series Secrets of the Whales. Now, with the most powerful moments selected, the documentary has been edited for this live, two-hour concert performance. Projected on a high-definition screen, the rich filmography and sweeping score is brought to life by a 40-piece orchestra. Post-00s is a documentary about growing up. It covers almost every aspect of millennials’ experiences on their path toward adolescence — their struggles with schoolwork, their relationship with peers, their confusion if a younger brother or sister is born into the family, and their growing desire to keep a distance from their parents. But this five-episode series was different from any other TV program with a similar theme.
Post-00s was filmed over a period of 10 years, during which the show’s makers followed a group of kids from when they were infants through to when they became teenagers. In other words, the show’s “characters” grow older for real, and their stories are all real.
“Coming-of-age” stories, as they’re known, have a special appeal. They satisfy our curiosity of looking at someone else’s life, and we become more and more attached to the characters as if we truly know them. And while we enjoy the truthfulness of the stories because nothing is set in advance, we also can’t help but feel the cruelty of reality. After all, there’s no rewriting of the script and there’s no turning back — this is real life.
This realness can also be seen in Boyhood, a 2014 film that won the Silver Bear award for best director at the 64th Berlin International Film Festival. During a period of 12 years, the film follows the life of Mason Jr — played by US actor Ellar Coltrane — from when he was 6 to when he finished high school.
One of Boyhood’s appeals comes from its “ordinariness”. Mason Jr isn’t some child genius... He is a quietly spoken, fairly typical American boy, growing up in the Texas suburbs. He likes riding his bike and playing video games.
While coming-of-age stories may look ordinary on the outside, they often allow us to look underneath the surface and see something extraordinary — the power of life itself.
4.In the documentary, we see post-00’s growing experience EXCEPT ________.
A.how they deal with their studies
B.how they help look after brothers or sisters
C.how they get along with people of their age
D.how much they long to be independent of their parents
5.What do Post-00 and Boyhood have in common?
A.They’re intended to win an award for best director.
B.The heroes and heroines are characters themselves.
C.They’re a kind of reality show of ordinary kids’ growth.
D.The stories are based on true life but polished by writers.
6.Audience are interested in “coming-of-age” stories because ________.
A.they can see the truth of life

The world has been changing very quickly since the introduction of generative (生成的) artificial intelligence (AI). Generative AI now helps write stories, create art and answer questions, and it can even copy people’s voices. It’s being used in schools, offices, music and movies. Even the Oscars (奥斯卡奖) are changing because of AI.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has updated its rules, saying films that use AI are now allowed to win awards. So even if a movie uses AI to help with writing, editing or voices, it can still win Hollywood’s biggest prize. The Academy explained that using AI will not help or hurt a film’s chances of getting nominated (被提名), although human creativity and input are still the things that matter most. “AI is just a tool,” said Academy president David Rubin. “What truly makes a film great is the human story behind it.”
The use of AI in film became a talking point after this year’s Oscars, when Adrien Brody won Best Actor for his work in The Brutalist. In the film, both Brody and his co-star Felicity Jones had to speak Hungarian, a very difficult language to pronounce. According to the film’s editor David Jancso, AI was used to perfect their speech. “They did a wonderful job, but we also wanted to perfect it so that even locals will not notice any difference.” Another Oscar-winning film, the musical Emilia Perez, used AI to improve the singing of the actors.
The use of AI is becoming more common in the film and music industries. But not everyone is happy about it. During the 2023 Hollywood strikes, many actors and writers spoke out about AI, saying they were worried it could take away their jobs. Some worried that studios might use it to write scripts instead of hiring real writers, and others feared their voices or faces could be copied by AI without their permission (许可). Industry experts suggest that while AI can assist in production, it cannot replace human creativity and emotional depth that audiences connect with.
8.What does the Academy say about AI in films?
A.AI films are unable to win Oscars.
B.All films will use AI in the near future.
C.AI doesn’t change a film’s chance to win.
D.AI is becoming more important than humans.
9.How does the author show the influence of AI on the film industry?
A.By giving examples of AI in films.
B.By presenting the history of AI.
C.By focusing on technical details.
D.By comparing AI with traditional tools.
10.Why were some Hollywood workers unhappy about AI?
A.It made their voices sound strange.
B.It completely changed Oscar rules.
C.It might make them lose their jobs.
D.It made movies win too many awards.
11.What is the best title for the text?
A.AI in the Oscars: Rules & Influence
B.AI in Film-Making: Future & Possibilities

A recently released film Dear You has touched millions with its quietly powerful story, but few knew that it was inspired by a true account of loyalty that spanned nearly two decades and two countries.
The tale dates back to the 1940s, when Zheng Musheng left his wife Ye Shurou and their three children in the Chaoshan region of Guangdong to escape forced military service, heading to Southeast Asia — a journey then known as “going to Nanyang.” For twenty years, Shurou waited in their old house, raising the children alone. The only thread connecting her to her husband was the regular arrival of qiaopi — a unique form of remittance (汇款) letter that combined family news with funds. Every letter began the same way, “My wife Shurou, I hope this letter finds you well.” Those pieces of paper became her most treasured possessions.
The truth, however, was cruelly different. Not long after arriving abroad, Zheng Musheng was killed while trying to protect fellow Chinese immigrants during a robbery. Shurou never knew. The person who picked up the pen and wrote in Musheng’s name was Xie Nanzhi, a second-generation Chinese immigrant in Thailand. Nanzhi had once been helped by Musheng, and when the death notice arrived, she found herself unable to deliver such heartbreaking news to a woman she had never met. Instead, she made an extraordinary choice: she hid the notice and began writing to Shurou, enclosing money from her own hard work. For eighteen years, Nanzhi maintained this quiet act of devotion, supporting two families while never marrying herself.
The secret was finally uncovered when Shurou’s grandson traveled to Thailand looking for the grandfather he had never met. When the elderly Shurou eventually faced Nanzhi — who by then was suffering from Alzheimer’s disease — there were no dramatic conflicts. Nanzhi struggled to recognize her visitor and simply asked whether the salted pork she had sent decades ago was tasty. “It was good,” Shurou replied softly. “Then I’ll send more,” Nanzhi said.
In an interview, the director noted that the film is a praise of qingyi, a Chinese concept including loyalty, gratitude, and a deep sense of moral responsibility toward others. “In an age of instant communication and temporary connections,” he said, “this story reminds us that the most enduring bonds are sometimes created not by blood, but by a silent commitment to another person’s wellbeing.”
12.What does the underlined word “qiaopi” in paragraph 2 most probably refer to?
A.Traditional poems written by homesick Chinese travelers abroad.
B.Diaries recording the daily struggles of early Chinese immigrants.
C.Official identity documents issued by overseas Chinese organizations.
D.Letters that overseas Chinese sent home, containing both personal messages and money.
13.How did Xie Nanzhi handle the news of Zheng Musheng’s death?
A.She wanted to inherit Musheng’s property and business in Thailand.
B.She was in love with Musheng and wished to stay connected to his family.
C.She could not bear to tell Shurou the truth and decided to support her instead.
D.Musheng made her promise before his death to take care of his wife and children.
14.What can be inferred about the meeting between Shurou and Nanzhi described in paragraph 4?
A.Shurou angrily accused Nanzhi of cheating her for years.
B.Shurou refused to forgive Nanzhi and left without accepting her kindness.
C.Their conversation was full of deep emotions expressed through simple, everyday words.
D.Nanzhi completely forgot everything about the letters and the support she had provided.
15.Which of the following can be the best title for this news report?
A.The Rise and Fall of a Nanyang Businessman
B.The Lost Art of Qiaopi: A Fading Cultural Tradition
C.A Film’s Box-Office Success Built on Chaoshan Dialect
D.Beyond Blood: How a Stranger’s Silent Devotion Spanned Two Families

From Page to Screen
The charm of bringing a classic book to the screen lies in the opportunity to reach a wider audience and visualize the characters and the story. 16 It demands both respect for the original and courage to reimagine.
One of the most significant challenges is adapting the often long and complicated narrative of a novel into the limited runtime of a movie. Novels allow readers to immerse themselves in the story over hundreds of pages, exploring intricate subplots, character developments, and detailed settings. In contrast, a film typically has just two to three hours to convey the essence of the story. 17 Namely, they have to decide what to include and what to leave out.
Reproducing an author’s distinctive tone and literary style is challenging as well. Capturing them on film requires a deep understanding of the source material and a creative approach to visual storytelling. 18 For example, the 1995 adaptation of Sense and Sensibility directed by Ang Lee captured Jane Austen’s subtle humor and social comment through its careful attention to period details, character interactions, and the pace of dialogue, making it one of the most beloved adaptations of her novels.
Another challenge is portraying beloved characters that have lived in the imaginations of readers for generations. These characters are often vividly described in the novels, and readers develop strong attachments to their own interpretations. 19 Yet, a well-cast actor can make the characters come alive. Therefore, filmmakers must consider not only physical resemblance but also the ability to convey the characters’ complexities and inner struggles when casting.
In the end, the art of adaptation lies in striking the right balance between faithfulness and innovation. 20
A.Great adaptations achieve this masterfully.
B.It requires filmmakers to make tough choices.
C.However, this journey is full of potential difficulties.
D.The mental images can be difficult to match on screen.
E.Filmmakers focus on such details to present a novel’s plot.
F.Only in this way can we honor the past and speak to the present.
G.Casting is the bridge between a reader’s imagination and the screen.

For years, my world was music. The piano was my voice. After graduating from a conservatory (音乐学院), I played in concert halls, 21 applause and perfection. Then, a gradual numbness (麻木) set in. The melodies felt empty, a technical 22 rather than a language of the soul. I was losing the very thing that had once given me life.
Seeking a change, I 23 took a part-time job as a music assistant at a community center, mainly working with children. There, I met Leo, a ten-year-old boy with autism (自闭症). Leo rarely spoke and seemed 24 in his own world. The staff told me he had shown no interest in any activity — until he 25 into the music room one afternoon.
He didn’t look at me but stood perfectly still, his head tilted towards the old piano in the corner. I sat down and played a simple, gentle tune. To my astonishment, Leo slowly 26 . He didn’t clap or smile, but his tense shoulders relaxed. When I finished, he reached out a single finger and pressed one key. A clear, solitary (孤寂的) note hung in the air. His eyes 27 to mine, just for a second.
That was the beginning of our quiet friendship. I abandoned complex sonatas (奏鸣曲). Instead, we 28 . I’d play a few notes; he’d answer with one. I’d create a soft rhythm; he’d tap the side of the piano, matching it imperfectly but with startling (惊人的) focus. There were no goals, no sheet music, no 29 . Just sound and response. In that space, Leo was not a “student with special needs.” He was a musician, and I was merely his duet (二重奏) partner.
One day, his mother arrived early, her face lined with the usual worry. She watched from the doorway as Leo, for the first time, initiated (发起) a “conversation”. He played a cluster of notes — a strange, beautiful, and utterly 30 little phrase — and looked at me, waiting. I listened, and then answered with a 31 of his theme. A sound, almost like a sigh of relief, escaped his mother. She put a hand over her mouth, her eyes glistening. In that moment, I saw not what Leo 32 , but what he possessed: a unique voice, waiting for someone to truly listen.
Driving home that evening, a profound (深刻的) shift occurred within me. The melancholy (忧郁) that had 33 my heart for months began to lift. I realized I hadn’t been teaching Leo about music. Instead, in our silent, sound-filled dialogue, he had been reminding me of its essence (本质): connection, not perfection; listening, not performing; the raw, honest expression of being human.
That community center, with its out-of-tune piano, became my most important concert hall. Leo was my toughest and most 34 audience. He taught me that music isn’t about the notes you play, but the space you create for another soul to be heard. I had come to help him find a voice, but in the process, he helped me 35 my own.

Art is everywhere. Most public spaces have been carefully designed by artistic minds to be both functional and beautiful. Why, then, is art still so 36 (wide) considered to be “the easy subject” at school, insignificant to wider society, or even a waste of time and effort?
Actually, art connects culture and commerce like few other things can. It generates income and carries emotional value. When people attend 37 live concert, they pay not only for the joy of live music, the comfort of convenient hotels, or the pleasure of good meals, 38 importantly for a unique experience and a lasting memory. Modern consumers increasingly seek life experiences over basic material possessions, as their values change, 39 (make) art an important driver of the cultural economy.
Moreover, art strengthens community bonds and reduces loneliness. Shared artistic experiences encourage reflection and discussion, creating social connections. They also allow people to express common values, especially through works that honor important national 40 (event). Additionally, studies show that people who 41 (frequent) cultural activities in recent months turn out to harvest better well-being.
Engagement with the arts also benefits 42 (child) development. Those 43 (involve) in drama show improved literary skills, while music practice enhances math and language abilities. Art-inclined children are more likely to find employment later in life. Clearly, art is vital to human life. Without it, 44 (exist) would be dull and static — art is part of 45 makes us truly human.

As the bell rang for the end of school, Lily packed her violin case, feeling a heavy weight in her chest. The school music competition was only a week away, but she still couldn’t play the final part of her piece smoothly. Every time she reached the difficult note, her fingers would freeze, and her confidence faded a little more.
On her way home, she passed the old community park, where she often saw an elderly man sitting on a bench, holding a worn-out violin case. He never played, but he would stare at the violin inside as if it held precious memories. Lily had always wanted to talk to him, but she was too shy to break the silence.
One afternoon, Lily couldn’t stand her frustration any longer. She sat on a nearby bench and took out her violin, trying to practice the most difficult part. But as usual, she messed up, and tears rolled down her cheeks. She put her violin back in the case, feeling hopeless.
“Don’t give up so easily, dear.” A gentle voice came from beside her. It was the elderly man. He smiled warmly and opened his own case, revealing a well-loved violin with a faded music sheet. “This piece used to be my favorite,” he said, pointing to the sheet.
Lily looked at the music sheet — it was the same piece she was practicing! She was surprised and asked why he never played. The man sighed, saying he had hurt his hand years ago and could no longer hold the bow (琴弓). “But I still come here to listen to the music in my heart,” he added softly.
Before leaving, the man took out the faded music sheet and handed it to her. “This might help you,” he said. “It has my notes on it. Remember, music is not about being perfect — it’s about putting your heart into it.” Lily thanked him, holding the sheet tightly, and noticed a small signature at the bottom: “Thomas, former violinist.”
