五、阅读理解。
If you don’t know where to go during your vacation, why not visit a museum? Many museums have millions of items in their collections(收藏), but visitors usually only see a small part of them. Most items just stay in storerooms(仓库). But museums are now trying to let people see more.
For example, the Victoria and Albert Museum(V&A) in London, UK, opened the V&A East Storehouse on 31 May, 2025. It shows more than half a million works. This is about 18 percent of its 2.8 million collections!

The V&A East Storehouse is not a dirty place. It has open shelves(架子) so you can see the items better. But it’s not a regular museum, either. You’ll see train tracks(轨道) for moving things, boxes and clothes bags. The lights turn on when someone walks by. This helps protect the artworks. The idea, the V&A says, is to take visitors to see the other parts of the museum besides the artworks.
▲ Many museums, such as the Archi Depot Museum in Japan and the Boijmans Van Beuningen Museum, are also opening their storerooms. At the Archi Depot Museum, visitors can look closely at different models of buildings. The other
