Albert Einstein (1879–1955) was one of the greatest physicists in human history.Born in Ulm, Germany, he later became a Swiss and American citizen. He is best known for developing the theory of relativity, which completely changed people’sunderstanding of space, time and gravity.
Einstein was not a top student in his early years. He was slow inlearning
to speak and disliked strict school rules. However, he was deeply curious about
nature and loved solving math and physics problems on his own.
In 1905, while working as a clerk in a patent office, Einstein published four groundbreaking papers. One of them introduced the special theory of relativity, with the famous equation E=mc². This work shocked the scientific world and made him famous overnight.
In 1915, he proposed the general theory of relativity, which explained gravity
in a new way. The theory was confirmed by astronomical observations in 1919,
bringing himworldwide fame. In 1921, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics
for his work on the photoelectric effect.
As a Jew, Einstein left Germany in 1933 to escape Nazi persecution. He settled
in the United States and continued his research at Princeton University. Besides his scientific work, he also spoke out for peace and human rights.
Einstein died in 1955 in Princeton. His brain was kept for scientific research, as people hoped to find the secret of his genius.
