Dinosaur Bone Duster 部分 “You must handle ancient fragile fossils without causing damage”,该岗位核心要求是小心处理易碎化石;A 属于品鉴师,D 无要求,C 属于山地向导。
原文 “Most beginners start as assistants” 对应 C。
根据文章第二段第一、二句“During her high school years, Caitlynn faced endless hardships. Her single mother was diagnosed with breast cancer and struggled with long-term treatment.” 选项A(学业差)是困难的结果而非原因,选项C(课业)和D(缺少朋友)文中未提及。
根据文章第三段,老师们“chose to listen and understand”、“comforting her”、“encouraging her to stick to her dreams”,这些都是情感支持和精神鼓励。选项A(补课)未提及;选项B(直接资金支持)不准确,他们帮助申请补贴,并非自己出钱;选项D(联系心理医生)未提及。
根据第四段上下文“the teachers firmly believed that she could overcome difficulties and achieve success”可知,老师对她抱有“坚定的信心”。
选项D(改变人生的两位老师)准确概括了全文主旨。选项A(高中教育的重要性)范围过大;选项B(如何克服青少年焦虑)偏离了老师这一核心角色;选项C(家庭支持的力量)与文章主题相悖,因为文中家庭未能提供足够支持。
30. 答案:B解析:根据第四段最后一句“the booming number of baby boomers forced schools to expand classrooms and playgrounds. As a result, school gardens were gradually removed”可知,战后婴儿潮导致校园教室、操场扩建,挤占了菜园空间,最终使校园菜园消失。
参考答案:32.B 33.B 34.A 35.D
Nevertheless, an increasing number of young people are unwilling to take up farm work that is low-paid, repetitive and easily affected by terrible weather.
Unlike traditional automated robots designed to totally replace humans for fruit picking, these new cobots prioritize human-machine cooperation.
A项(完全无需人力)、C项(完成精准采摘工作)是传统机器人特点;D项(需要改造农场布局)与原文末段“no transformation of existing farm layout”相悖。
34.【答案】A.
C 37. . B 38 . E 39. A 40. F

Dear Chris,
Hope this email finds you well. I'm writing to share my unforgettable experience in the "Chinese Food Cooking" activity held in our school kitchen last Friday.
I chose to make Scrambled Eggs with Tomatoes, a classic home dish. First, I beat the eggs evenly and cut the tomatoes into pieces. Then, I fried the eggs until golden, added the tomatoes with a little salt and sugar, and stir-fried quickly. Though simple, I focused on controlling the heat.
This activity not only let me experience the fun of cooking but also deepened my love for Chinese food. Have you ever tried making any dishes at school? I'd love to hear about your experience!
Yours,
Li Hua

One possible version
As the crane gently lifted her body, Sahiba struggled violently. Overwhelmed by fear and weakness, her legs shook uncontrollably, making it hard for her to keep balance. Refusing to give up, however, she tried desperately to stabilize herself. With continuous encouragement from us, she summoned up her remaining courage, stood firmly on her own feet and took her first steady step. The moment she raised her head high, her tearful eyes were filled with hope again. Relief and delight flooded everyone present.
Soon after Sahiba fully recovered, a kind local farmer came to adopt her. He offered her a peaceful sanctuary, free from labor and suffering. There Sahiba could enjoy endless sunshine and fresh grass, living a relaxed and happy life. This unforgettable experience taught me a profound lesson: the true greatness of humanity consists in cherishing and protecting every vulnerable life. Kindness is the most powerful cure for pain and despair.

Many people can recall at least one teacher who left a deep mark on their growth. For Caitlynn Hauw, a young American woman, two high school teachers completely changed the direction of her life, pulling her out of darkness and guiding her to a bright future.
During her high school years, Caitlynn faced endless hardships. Her single mother was diagnosed with breast cancer and struggled with long-term treatment. The heavy family burden threw Caitlynn into severe mental pressure. She suffered from anxiety and self-doubt, gradually lost confidence in life, and even wanted to give up her studies.
Fortunately, two of her high school teachers noticed her unusual changes. Instead of blaming her for her declining grades, they chose to listen and understand. They spent spare time talking with Caitlynn regularly, comforting her when she felt upset, and encouraging her to stick to her dreams. They also helped her apply for school subsidies to ease her family’s economic pressure.
What moved Caitlynn most was the teachers’ consistent belief in her. In her darkest days, no one else saw her potential, but the two teachers firmly believed that she could overcome difficulties and achieve success. Their patience and kindness became the warmest light in her teenage years.
With the teachers’ support, Caitlynn regained courage and confidence. She insisted on finishing high school and continued her further education. Now she has grown into an optimistic and independent young woman. In an interview with reporter David Begnaud, she expressed sincere gratitude to the two teachers, saying that their life-changing help laid a solid foundation for her whole life.
24. What was the main cause of Caitlynn's hardship during high school?
A. Her poor academic performance.
B. Her mother's serious illness and the family pressure.
C. The heavy schoolwork and exams.
D. Her lack of friends at school.

D. Two Teachers Who Changed a Life
C
In 1994, famous chef Alice Waters cooperated with a middle school in Berkeley to launch an “edible schoolyard” project. Two years later, the school community transformed an asphalt field into a garden and an old cafeteria kitchen into a kitchen classroom. Nowadays, the project attracts over 1,000 visitors every year, allowing students to grow various plants and practice cooking on campus.
Similar efforts are underway across San Francisco Bay. The nonprofit Urban Sprouts helps schools in economically disadvantaged neighborhoods build and expand school gardens. The project brings obvious benefits to students: they have more fresh organic produce in their diet, develop environmental awareness, and gain positive self-growth. Many students admit that healthy home-grown food instead of junk food greatly improves their school performance and living habits.
Though school garden programs seem trendy today, they are actually not new. The school garden movement first appeared in the US in the 1890s. At that time, advocates held diverse expectations for it: some used gardens to beautify school environments, some to help immigrant children adapt to American society, and others to improve students’ dietary health and teach agricultural and scientific knowledge.
The two World Wars once pushed the movement to its peak. With the slogan “food will win the war”, the US School Garden Army called on students to be “soldiers of the soil”. Millions of school children grew fruits and vegetables at school, which accounted for 40 percent of the country’s total consumption of such produce during World War II. However, after the war, the booming number of baby boomers forced schools to expand classrooms and playgrounds. As a result, school gardens were gradually removed and eventually disappeared.
Fortunately, school gardens are making a comeback in recent years. Students from Oakland’s Lighthouse Community Charter School are actively building garden beds on their playground. They hope to grow fresh food for both the school and local neighborhoods, replacing fast food with healthy home-grown produce. These teenagers even expect to define themselves as the “Healthy Foods Generation”, bringing new vitality to the once-forgotten school garden movement.
28. What is a direct benefit of the Urban Sprouts project for students?
A. Gaining free access to top cooking schools.
B. Improving their diet and study state.
C. Helping their families get rid of poverty.
D. Making them professional gardeners.
29. What can we learn about the school garden movement in the 1890s?
A. It had unified educational goals.
B. It aimed to train professional soldiers.
C. It served multiple practical purposes.
D. It was designed only for immigrant students.
30. What led to the disappearance of school gardens after World War II?
A. The lack of public support.
B. The expansion of school facilities.
C. The declining food demand nationwide.
D. The popularity of fast food culture.
31. What can be inferred from the last paragraph?
A. Local fast food industry is seriously affected by school gardens.

D
Small and medium-sized soft fruit farms in Britain have long been troubled by serious seasonal labor shortages. Fruit farming is typically a seasonal industry. It needs masses of temporary labor to finish picking, sorting and transporting fruits during summer and autumn harvest peaks. Nevertheless, an increasing number of young people are unwilling to take up farm work that is low-paid, repetitive and easily affected by terrible weather. The shrinking seasonal labor force has left most local fruit farms understaffed. Many growers are faced with huge harvesting pressure and even run the risk of abandoning their crops annually.
To address this long-standing industry problem, the innovative FLEXBOT project has been carried out to test collaborative robots (cobots) on British local fruit farms. Unlike traditional automated robots designed to totally replace humans for fruit picking, these new cobots prioritize human-machine cooperation. Instead of performing the precise and core picking work, they are programmed to handle tiring, heavy and repetitive auxiliary tasks, such as transporting freshly harvested fruits, delivering farm supplies and cleaning orchard passages.
The introduction of cobots has greatly boosted the overall working efficiency of small fruit farms. By taking over strenuous physical labor, cobots relieve human workers of exhausting repetitive work, enabling farmers to concentrate on delicate, technical picking and fruit selection procedures. More importantly, the FLEXBOT system is low-cost and highly compatible. It demands no transformation of existing farm layout, making it perfectly suitable for small and medium-sized farms with limited budgets and fixed operating scales. It provides a practical and cost-effective automation solution for traditional British family fruit farms.
As labor shortages continue to trouble the agricultural sector, cobots are not meant to wipe out human farm workers. On the contrary, they serve as powerful assistants to bridge the labor gap. The human-machine cooperation model is expected to revitalize traditional British fruit farming and promote the sustainable development of small-scale agricultural industries.
32. What accounts for the labor shortage on British fruit farms?
A. The expansion of local fruit farms.
B. Young people’s reluctance for farm work.
C. The rising cost of temporary workers.
D. The complexity of core farming work.
33. What is the major difference between cobots and traditional automated robots?
A. They are totally labor-free.
B. They focus on human-machine cooperation.
C. They can finish precise picking work.
D. They require farm layout transformation.
34. What is the biggest advantage of the FLEXBOT system for small farms?
A. It fits their financial and scale conditions.
B. It can completely replace human labor.
C. It optimizes overall farm operation and production quality.
D. It simplifies fruit selection procedures.
35. The author writes the last paragraph mainly to ________.
A. highlight the limitations of human labor in modern farming
B. clarify the positioning and future value of cobot technology
C. emphasize the urgency of solving agricultural labor shortages
D. reveal the upgrading of traditional farming by intelligent technology

I have always believed that humanity is reflected in how we treat vulnerable living creatures. In Rajasthan, camels are loyal companions that serve local people faithfully under the burning sun. They carry heavy loads across deserts silently, never complaining about hardship.
However, many aged or sick camels are cruelly abandoned once they lose their working ability. One summer evening, my animal rescue team received an urgent call. A female camel was left alone near a neighborhood square in Bedwas. For days, she had no food or water, suffering from severe hunger and thirst under the harsh weather.
The next morning, my teammates and I rushed to the spot. We saw the camel lying weakly on the ground, skinny and covered with dust. Her eyes were filled with tears, showing utter despair. We named her Sahiba. Moved by her suffering, we made up our minds to save her. It took great effort to transport the exhausted Sahiba to the local veterinary hospital with the help of a truck and a crane起重机.
In the following days, veterinarians treated her malnutrition and physical weakness carefully. Volunteers and hospital staff took turns accompanying her. Surprisingly, Sahiba’s physical condition improved gradually, but she remained lifeless and depressed. The pain of abandonment had broken her spirit. I spared no time staying with her, stroking her neck, feeding her fresh greens and comforting her with soft words.
Six days after the rescue, we decided to make a crucial attempt to help her stand on her own feet.
