Then, a teacher greeted me and guided me to a computer with some paper. I tried to explain my mistake, but he thought I was just nervous.
It turned out that the search was for students who found it difficult to get into college. Students could come to get some advice on how to plan their schedules and get support with things like free tests.
After the class, I explained my mistake. The teacher found it very funny, and discovered that I qualified (有资格的) for the program. I ended up joining the program during middle and high school. We visited colleges, went to classes and helped each other plan our schedules. It was a great experience.

Do you know that Xizang is home to a traditional art called thangka (唐卡) paintings? This is a Tibetan art form with a history of more than 1,300 years. Dechen Chodron, 32, is a thangka artist. She learned painting at the Xueduibai School for Traditional Arts and Crafts and stayed to teach there after graduation.
In the past, thangka was usually taught on a small scale, only from a master to a student or from a father to a son. Few girls could learn it. “It takes at least five or six years to master it,” said Chodron, making it difficult to pass down this tradition.
Things improved in 2006 when thangka was added to China’s national intangible cultural heritage list (非物质文化遗产名录). After that, the government helped more people learn. Now, there are special schools and studios for thangka. “At my school, everyone is welcome. We give students free things, and Tibetan students don’t have to pay tuition (学费),” Chodron said. “Now families are more open-minded, and more girls are learning it.”
Chodron also runs thangka workshops for tourists. People from China and abroad learn how to paint thangka. Besides, tourists can also try making Tibetan clothes, pottery and woodcarving. It is a hands-on way to experience Tibetan culture. “Tourists love it,” Chodron said with a smile. “They experience more than just sightseeing. They can take part in practical (实际的) activities. Many share their experiences online, which attracts more people to come. This makes me really happy!”

A. Less than 1,000 years. B. More than 1,300 years.
C. About 500 years. D. Over 2,000 years.

A. Most girls were interested in learning thangka.
B. People could master it in only one or two years.
C. It was taught in large schools with many students.
D. It was usually passed from a master to a student or a father to a son.
45. What can we know about the Xueduibai School for Traditional Arts and Crafts?
A. It only accepts male students to learn thangka.
B. It charges all students a lot of tuition.
C. It provides free things for its students.
D. It was set up before 2006.
46. What does the underlined phrase “hands-on way” in Paragraph 4 probably mean?
A. A way that requires people to take part in practical activities.
B. A way that allows people to watch others do things.
C. A way that needs people to read a lot of books.
D. A way that asks people to share experiences online.

There are two types of people in the world—cat people and dog people. Take a look at the many posts written by dog and cat lovers on social media. Both groups try to prove (证明) why they are right. And both groups have good reasons.
Dog lovers say that “man’s best friend” is active and sweet. Cats are usually described as beautiful and proud “masters”, while their owners are more like their “servants”. But this is about more than just what kind of pet someone likes better. It can also tell you more about them as a person.
A study from Carroll University in the United States shows that people may choose pets based on their own personality. For example, cats are seen as independent animals that keep to themselves and are cautious (警惕的) of others. “If you’re like that, you appreciate that in an animal. The cat is a better match for you,” said Denise Guastello, one of the scientists who led the study.
Guastello’s study found that there are other personality differences between dog lovers and cat lovers. Dog lovers are usually more outgoing and lively, while cat lovers are quieter, more open-minded and sensitive (敏感的).
This can be partly explained by the living habits and environments that pet owners and their pets have. Think about it; Dog owners go outside to walk their dogs almost every day, but if you’re quiet and shy, you’ll probably stay at home with your cat.
48. What does the study from Carroll University in the US show?
A. People may choose pets based on their own personality.
B. Dogs are more loyal than cats.
C. Cats are better pets for outgoing people.

C. A history textbook. D. A poem.
51. What would be the best structure of the passage?

43. How long is the history of thangka paintings?
A. Less than 1,000 years. B. More than 1,300 years.
C. About 500 years. D. Over 2,000 years.
44. What was thangka teaching like in the past?
A. Most girls were interested in learning thangka.
B. People could master it in only one or two years.
C. It was taught in large schools with many students.
D. It was usually passed from a master to a student or a father to a son.
45. What can we know about the Xueduibai School for Traditional Arts and Crafts?

B. It charges all students a lot of tuition.
C. It provides free things for its students.
D. It was set up before 2006.
46. What does the underlined phrase “hands-on way” in Paragraph 4 probably mean?
A. A way that requires people to take part in practical activities.
