参考范文:
My favourite athlete is Eric Moussambani, the first Olympic swimmer from Equatorial Guinea. He competed in the 100-metre freestyle at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, even though he had only started swimming six months before the Games. During his race, he struggled in the last 15 metres, and it looked like he was going to drown. But he never gave up and finally finished the race, winning loud cheers from the crowd.
I admire Eric because he showed the true Olympic spirit — never giving up no matter how hard it is. With hard work and practice, he later improved his time from 1 minute 52 seconds to under 57 seconds, and even became the coach of his country’s national swimming team. His story teaches me that success is not about winning medals, but about doing your best and never quitting. The most important thing in sport is not winning but taking part.
