Li Shizhen was a famous medical scientist of the Ming Dynasty. When he was young, Li worked in his father’s medicine shop. One day, he read an old medical book that said, “Duanchangcao is not poisonous(有毒的).” But just days before, a villager got very sick after eating it. Li Shizhen felt worried. He saw that many old books had mistakes, and wrong medicine hurt people. So he decided to write a correct and useful herbal(药草的) book.
