Children spend too much time on smartphones and computers now. They are at risk (风险) of health problems throughout their lives, such as obesity (肥胖) and eye problems, according to a study.
The study was carried out by World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF,世界癌症研究基金会) in the UK. It found some actions—looking at a smartphone or an iPad for a long time—are among the causes of obesity. It shows that obesity has something to do with several kinds of cancer, but physical activities can reduce that risk.
“New technologies make people spend a lot more time sitting long, such as using computers, watching television and using smartphones.” The study said. “Less exercise has caused a number of health problems like breathing difficulties, a poor heart, bones (骨头) and stress.”

Children spend too much time on smartphones and computers now. They are at risk (风险) of health problems throughout their lives, such as obesity (肥胖) and eye problems, according to a study.
The study was carried out by World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF,世界癌症研究基金会) in the UK. It found some actions—looking at a smartphone or an iPad for a long time—are among the causes of obesity.
