I first met Paul Newman in 1968, when George Roy Hill, the director of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, introduced us in New York City. When the studio didn’t want me for the film — it wanted somebody as well known as Paul — he stood up for me. I don’t know how many people would have done that; they would have listened to their agents or the studio powers.
The friendship that grew out of the experience of making that film and The Sting four years later had its root in the fact that although there was an age difference, we both came from a tradition of theater and live TV. We were respectful of craft (技艺) and focused on digging into the characters we were going to play. Both of us had the qualities and virtues that are typical of American actors: humorous, aggressive, and making fun of each other — but always with an underlying affection. Those were also at the core (核心) of our relationship off the screen.
We shared the belief that if you’re fortunate enough to have success, you should put something back — he with his Newman’s Own food and his Hole in the Wall camps for kids who are seriously ill, and me with Sundance and the institute and the festival. Paul and I didn’t see each other all that regularly, but sharing that brought us together. We supported each other financially and by showing up at events.
I last saw him a few months ago. He’d been in and out of the hospital. He and I both knew what the deal was, and we didn’t talk about it. Ours was a relationship that didn’t need a lot of words.
24.Why was the studio unwilling to give the role to the author at first?
A.Paul Newman wanted it.
B.The studio powers didn’t like his agent.
C.He wasn’t famous enough.
D.The director recommended someone else.
25.Why did Paul and the author have a lasting friendship?
A.They were of the same age.
B.They worked in the same theater.
C.They were both good actors.
D.They had similar characteristics.
26.What does the underlined word “that” in paragraph 3 refer to?
A.Their belief.
B.Their care for children.
C.Their success.
D.Their support for each other.
27.What is the author’s purpose in writing the text?
A.To show his love of films.
B.To remember a friend.
C.To introduce a new movie.
D.To share his acting experience.

The rise of social media has changed many aspects (方面) of our lives, and travel is no exception. Social media has completely changed the way we travel, making it more accessible (可获得的), shareable, and sometimes, more expressive. Understanding its impact can help travelers know about this new environment while keeping a balance between the truth and social media influence.
One of the most significant ways social media has changed travel is by providing a never-ending stream of travel inspiration. In the past, people depended on travel magazines, guidebooks, or word of mouth to learn about new destinations. Today, with just a phone in hand, users can look through amazing images, videos, and stories from all corners of the world, making travel dreams more accessible than ever before.
Influencers, bloggers, and even average travelers share their experiences, introducing viewers to places they may have never considered. Social media is filled with hidden attractions, unique experiences and lesser-known destinations, which has aroused people’s desire for travel and their curiosity about faraway places. This constant flow of inspiration fuels the desire to explore new places, contributing to a more adventurous and globally aware generation of travelers.
Planning travel has been changed by social media, too. Instead of depending only on traditional travel agents or booking websites, people turn to social media platforms (平台) to research destinations, accommodations, and activities. Comments and travel vlogs (视频日志) provide real-time insights and tips that guide travel decisions.
While social media has opened up a world of inspiration, it has also introduced new pressures. The fear of missing out has become a major reason for travel. Seeing friends or influencers posting pictures from new locations can stir a desire to try those experiences. This has led to an increase in last-minute bookings, the rise of casual (随意的) short trips, and a growing emphasis on completing the destinations on one’s life list.
28.What can be learned about travel information before the rise of social media?
A.It provided more details. B.It was less easy to get.
C.It sounded more interesting. D.It gave people more ideas.
29.What is a result of sharing travel experiences online?
A.Bloggers are put in danger. B.Old places begin to disappear.
C.More people want to go traveling. D.New travelers become less aware of safety.
30.What is the main reason for social media-driven travel?
A.Fast bookings. B.Cost savings.
C.A chance to show off. D.The fear of missing out.
31.What can be a suitable title for the text?
A.Why Travelers Use Social Media for Trips?
B.When Social Media Starts Influencing Travel?
C.What Benefits Social Media Brings to Tourism?
D.How Social Media Changes the Way We Travel?

Digital apps often get attacked for weakening family bonds, but a French company has found a smart solution — Famileo, a family newspaper platform since 2014. Its founder Tanguy got the idea when he helped his father set up a computer, only to see it gather dust soon after. He then realized the need for a communication tool that suits both tech-skilled young people and internet-shy seniors, who believe traditional communication carries unique emotional value, especially for the elderly.
Famileo changes digital messages and photos that users send through the Famileo app into a family newspaper. With young users getting a PDF version, a physical copy is delivered to the door of older people each month. All data shared are safe-the company promises it will not sell users’ data and will keep the newspaper free of advertising. Senders benefit from the convenience of digital communication, while their relatives enjoy reading family updates in a printed newspaper.
Loneliness is a major problem for older people in the UK. Many Famileo users report that Famileo helps keep older relatives connected, allowing them to feel part of their big family’s day-to-day life despite the distance. At Famileo’s heart is a desire to meet older people’s demands, even as technology develops.
Kirsteen Bell from Scotland uses Famileo to stay in touch with her mother, who lives in the countryside without the Internet. With three young children to care for, Bell can’t visit her mother often. “My mother gets the newspaper every four weeks and loves it. It keeps her updated in a way she can easily access,” she says. True connection has to be two-way, and family is a great place to start.
32.What do we know about the internet-shy seniors from paragraph 1?
A.They have a habit of collecting newspapers.
B.They have no interest in keeping up with news.
C.They want help from tech-skilled young people.
D.They prefer traditional ways of communication.
33.How does Famileo work?
A.By guiding elders to use the app.
B.By selling users’ data to make money.
C.By printing family updates monthly for elders.
D.By gathering PDF versions to record moments.
34.What does Kirsteen Bell’s example want to stress?
A.The effectiveness of Famileo.
B.The existence of generation gap.
C.The inconvenience of the countryside.
D.The disadvantages of social media.
35.What is the best title for the text?
A.Famileo: Tech Meets Print for Families.
B.Loneliness: A Problem Troubling the Elderly.
C.Communication: What Matters to Senior People.
D.Digital apps: The Enemy of Family Connection.

Last summer, I joined a two-week long art camp. At first, I was nervous as I didn’t know anyone there. Among the students, there was a girl named Maya. She was always surrounded by a group of friends, chatting and laughing loudly. I was too shy to approach her.
One day during a painting class, I was struggling with my brushwork. Maya happened to pass by and noticed my trouble. She pulled up a chair beside me and patiently showed me some painting techniques. Her kind smile and warm words made me feel at ease immediately. From then on, we became good friends. We spent every day at the camp together, sharing our dreams and secrets.
As the end of the art camp approached, everyone was busy preparing for the final exhibition. Maya and I decided to create a joint painting that combined our different styles. However, just two days before the exhibition, a huge argument broke out between us. We had different ideas about how to complete the painting and neither of us was willing to compromise (妥协). We ended up storming off in anger, leaving the half-finished painting on the painting stand.
That night, I lay in bed, tossing and turning (辗转反侧). I kept thinking about our friendship and how stupid our argument was. I realized that friendship was more important than winning an argument.

Internet and Friendship
The Internet has greatly changed our way of making friends. It helps us connect with people who share the same hobbies easily, no matter how far they are. We can chat and support each other anytime.
However, online friendship also has problems. We may not know the real information of the persons online, so sometimes we get cheated or misled.
In my opinion, the Internet is a good tool to build friendship. But we should be careful. We’d better not give out personal information easily and meet online friends in safe places.
第二节 (满分25分)
【答案】 Paragraph 1:
The next morning, I decided to apologize to Maya. With a pounding heart, I walked towards the studio where she was. When I opened the door, I saw Maya sitting in front of our unfinished painting, looking sad. Her eyes were red as if she had been crying. Seeing me, she stood up nervously. Before she could say anything, I blurted out, “Maya, I’m so sorry about yesterday. Our friendship means everything to me, and I don’t want a silly argument to ruin it.”
Paragraph 2:
Tears filled Maya’s eyes as she rushed towards me and gave me a big hug. “I’m sorry too,” she sobbed. “I was just being stubborn. Our friendship is far more precious than any painting.” We both laughed through our tears. Then, side by side, we sat down and started working on the painting again. This time, we listened to each other’s ideas, compromised, and added our unique touches. When the exhibition opened, our painting received high praise. But more importantly, our friendship became even stronger, and we knew that true friendship could overcome any obstacle.

W: Hello, everyone! I’ve been an educator for over a decade. My online teaching journey started when I created a social media channel to teach math two years ago. Every week, I post a video that is about 8 to 10 minutes long. These videos are designed to be independent lessons with examples and practice problems. To make the content more appealing, I use vivid videos and real-world applications to explain abstract concepts. And I guess this approach has been a hit. After all, my channel has grown to over 50,000 followers. However, the path hasn’t been smooth. I initially struggled with video production, such as lighting and sound quality. It took several months of trial and error to reach a professional level. I also had to learn how to create interactive content that could hold students’ attention. Besides, I launched a blog with weekly articles on advanced topics and study tips. Despite the challenges, the feedback from students has been rewarding. Many have shared how my videos have helped them understand concepts they struggled with in school. I’m glad to see the impact of my work. And I hope my journey can inspire you to explore digital teaching. Thank you for listening.

故填which。
故填was released。

故填In。

65.考查动词时态和主谓一致。句意:用TikTok创作视频很有趣。此处为谓语动词,描述客观事实,用一般现在时;主语Creating videos with TikTok为动名词短语,视为单数,所以用is。故填is。

Internet and Friendship

【答案】
Internet and Friendship
The Internet has greatly changed our way of making friends. It helps us connect with people who share the same hobbies easily, no matter how far they are. We can chat and support each other anytime.
However, online friendship also has problems. We may not know the real information of the persons online, so sometimes we get cheated or misled.
In my opinion, the Internet is a good tool to build friendship. But we should be careful. We’d better not give out personal information easily and meet online friends in safe places.

67. 阅读下面材料:根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。

____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
【答案】Paragraph 1:
【导语】本文以人物为线索展开,主要讲述了作者在参加艺术夏令营时与Maya从相识到成为好朋友,但因合作绘画产生分歧而争吵,最后作者意识到友谊的重要性并决定道歉的故事。

My online teaching journey started when I created a social media channel to teach math two years ago. Every week I post a video that is about eight to ten minutes long. These videos are designed to be independent lessons with examples and practice problems. To make the content more appealing, I use vivid videos and real world applications to explain abstract concepts. And I guess this approach has been a hit. After all, my channel has grown to over fifty thousand followers. However, the path hasn't been smooth. I initially struggled with video production such as lighting and sound quality. IT took several months of trial and air to reach a professional level. I also had to learn how to create interactive content that could hold students attention. The side, I launched a blog with weekly articles on advanced topics and study tips. Despite the chAllenges, the feedback from students has been rewarding. Many have shared how my videos have helped them understand concepts they struggled with in school. I'm glad to see the impact of my work, and I hope my journey can inspire you to explore digital teaching. Thank you for listening. Hello, everyone. I've been an educator for over a decade.
