B Courage is a huge theme in my life, a quality I constantly seek, appreciate, and analyze. The root of “courage” is “cor,” the Latin word for heart. Originally, courage meant “to speak one’s mind by telling all one’s heart.” While courage is often associated with heroism nowadays, I believe true courage lies in being open and honest about who we are and how we feel. I recently witnessed an example of true courage. During a mountain-climbing trip with my 15-year-old daughter and some college students, I noticed her struggling to keep up with the group. Despite my suggestions to rest, she persisted until she couldn’t breathe properly. Panicked, I called out to the front for help, but there was no response, and we had no cellphone signal. Fortunately, two students just came back to check out on us. They offered assistance and calmed us down. As we continued at a slower pace, they shared their own experiences, from starting out as beginners like my daughter to becoming consistently among the first to reach the peak. “You know,” one of them said, looking at my daughter, “I was just like you when I started. But with practice and proper pace, you’ll get there too.” “Yeah, don’t let your lack of experience stop you,” the other added. “It’s okay to admit when you’re struggling or not feeling alright. In fact, it’s important to speak up and ask for help when you need it. That’s how we improve and grow.” Reaching the mountain top was a huge relief for both my daughter and me. However, the two students addressed the celebrating group directly, emphasizing the importance of staying together in tough environments. Their words led the group to apologize to us for overlooking our struggle. I was totally amazed at their bravery, and my daughter learned that it’s okay to be the least experienced in the group. Courage, I’ve come to realize, has a ripple effect. Each time we choose courage, we inspire those around us to be a little braver and make the world a little better. 24.Why does the author mention the original meaning of courage? A.To argue for the truth of courage. B.To show the changing meaning of courage. C.To question the common belief of courage. D.To compare different interpretations of courage. 25.What did the two students suggest the daughter do? A.Compare herself with other climbers. B.Speak up and ask for help when needed. C.Keep her struggles to herself. D.Focus only on reaching the peak quickly. 26.Which action in the mountain-climbing story is an example of true courage? A.The group apologized to the mother and her daughter. B.The girl insisted on climbing despite difficulty. C.The two students pointed out the group’s fault. D.The group celebrated reaching the top. 27.What does the author intend to tell us? A.Kindness connects us all. B.Being a beginner takes courage. C.We don’t have to be a hero to be brave. D.With courage, everyone can be perfect. C Margaret Mead, the most famous anthropologist (人类学家) in the world, was born in the USA in 1901. After studying psychology as an undergraduate, Mead began a PhD in the relatively new field of anthropology. Mead was particularly interested in primitive (原始的) communities because she believed that such cultures cut off from the outside could serve as “laboratories” that would reveal ways of living that the modern world had forgotten about but needed to remember. Having travelled to Samoa, a few tiny volcanic islands in the center of the Pacific Ocean, Mead gradually got interested in gender roles and discovered that modern societies are far more strict in this area than primitive ones. For example, Americans tend to think of men as productive and forceful, while women are often told they’re more peaceful and caring. But in her 1935 book, Sex and Temperament in Three Primitive Societies, Mead studied tribes (部落) in Papua New Guinea and recorded that in the Arapesh tribe, both men and women were peaceful and caring, while among the Mundugumor tribe, men and women were both unkind and cruel. Mead’s striking conclusion is that it isn’t gender that makes women listen to people’s feelings, or race that makes some nations regularly attack their neighbors. Rather, it’s the established social rules and public expectations that have laid the groundwork for each individual’s psychological makeup. “We must recognize,” she reminded her readers, “that beneath the superficial (表面上的) classifications of sex and race, the same talents always exist, occurring again generation after generation, only to perish because society has no place for them.” Margaret Mead died in 1978. A year later, the president of the United States, Jimmy Carter, honored the social scientist with America’s highest award for civilians. 28.Why was Margaret Mead fascinated by primitive communities? A.They follow strict social rules. B.They feature a diverse culture. C.They uncover some lost lifestyles. D.They hold value for financial study. 29.Why does the writer mention two tribes in Papua New Guinea? A.To highlight their gender prejudice. B.To explain their fixed social structure. C.To compare their living environments. D.To show their loose rules on gender role. 30.What shapes people’s personalities according to Mead’s research? A.People’s inborn talents. B.Long-held social customs. C.Individuals’ expectation. D.Classification of sex and race. 31.What does the underlined word “perish” in Paragraph 3 properly mean? A.Fade away. B.Give away. C.Carry on. D.Figure out. D For a long time, psychologists believed in “catharsis theory,” or the idea that it’s better to release negative emotions than hold onto them. But back in 2002, Brad Bushman, a professor of communication at the Ohio State University, published a study that questioned that logic, saying that venting (发泄) “is the worst thing you can do” when you’ re mad and it’s “adding more fuel to the fire.” Focusing on a frustrating conversation can blow out of proportion relatively minor annoyances, which is unhealthy, says Jesse Cougle, a psychology professor studying anger at Florida State University. The problem is that when you’re furious (愤怒的), it feels better to shout angrily than it does to take some centering deep breaths. Bushman has seen that in his research. Even though activities like hitting a punching bag don’t actually lessen anger, “75% of people report feeling better” after they do it, he says. The same is often true for venting to a friend. It feels great to have someone support your perspective. Can something that feels so good really be so wrong? Bushman says it’s not always a bad thing to get something off your chest. Talking through a negative feeling with the goal of understanding why something bothered you and how to better respond in the future, such as with a therapist, can be beneficial, he says. But venting becomes less helpful, Cougle says, when it’s mean-spirited—when you repeat the same thing you’ve done many times, keeping yourself stuck in that past anger without trying to move past it. When you feel yourself getting stuck in the trap of venting, look for healthier coping strategies. If yoga and meditation aren’t your thing, try a quick shift in perspective. Bushman’s research supports the “fly-on-the-wall” technique, which challenges angry people to imagine themselves as a third party observing the situation that made them angry. And finally, don’t underestimate the impact of anger — that is, getting angry when you’re hungry. Science suggests it’s a real phenomenon. So next time you feel yourself gearing up for a venting session, think of grabbing a snack and taking a few deep breaths instead. 32.What is the traditional belief of venting? A.Nothing can be worse than venting. B.Venting may lead to worse emotions. C.Letting anger out always works well. D.Releasing negative feelings is logical. 33.What does the underlined word “that” in paragraph 3 refer to? A.The problem of venting while angry. B.The benefit of taking some deep breaths. C.The temporary relief from venting anger. D.The lessened anger after hitting something. 34.Why is the “fly-on-the-wall” technique mentioned in paragraph 5? A.To challenge angry people. B.To replace yoga and meditation. C.To illustrate change in perspective. D.To observe the situation as a third party. 35.What is the passage mainly about? A.The psychological risk of venting and its influence. B.The harm of venting anger and its coping techniques. C.The science of hunger-related anger and its solutions. D.The development of catharsis theory and its modern debates. As high school students, we must spend the vast majority of our time in class and reading books. 36 . Without a friend, our world would be a wilderness. What kind of friends should we pick? What are the dos and don’ts of friendship? Here are some of my opinions. 37 We may consider different people we meet every day to be nice and feel like making friends with them. However, not all good people are matches for us. Rather than make friends with the popular students, we should spend time with those we have things in common with, or who will be there to listen to us. Moreover, we should be careful about students with many bad habits, since they could pass those habits on to us. Being tolerant is a good idea. No one is perfect. 38 Therefore, we should try to understand our friends and be patient with them when they make mistakes since we’re all on a journey to being better people. Gradually, our friendships will last longer and become more solid. Be honest. 39 However, it’s better to be honest with friends, to tell them what is bothering us and seek their advice. Being honest will not annoy your friends, but it will bring you and your friend closer together. We need to be open-minded. Listen to others’ ideas, whether you agree with them or not. 40 A.We must be careful. B.We need to be well-informed. C.As is said, honesty is the best policy. D.A friend without faults will never be found. E.None are so deaf as those who will not hear. F.Still, spending time with friends is also necessary and good for us. G.We all tend to show our positive side to friends and hide our true feelings. The first class I took in college — philosophy — changed my life in a way I never expected. Now, thanks to advances in technology, the way we make friends 56 communicate with them has changed greatly. Nowadays, we can move around the world and still stay 57 touch with the people that we want to remain friends with. Social media tools let us see 58 our friends are doing, which is 59 (absolute) a good way to maintain friendships. The digital age allows us 60 (find) people who share our interests. Whatever our hobbies, the Internet can connect us with others who also enjoy 61 (do) the same things, even if they live on the other side of the world. But we need to remember that what we see on social media 62 (be) often not the whole truth about a person or a situation. Sometimes smiling photos can hide real problems. On 63 Internet, nobody knows who you really are. A young person could be old; a woman could be a man; we could even be sharing 64 (we) information with criminals. This doesn’t mean that we should throw the baby out with the bath water. Although technology has changed the way we acquire friends, the 65 (mean) of friendship and our longing for friends remain the same. Dear friends from New Zealand, ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Thank you for listening! It was our first time exploring a foreign country on our own, without a tour guide leading the way. My friend Doris and I had a week-long tour there and believed we could explore this town alone then. After breakfast, we confidently started the trip. After a full day of exciting exploration, the sky turned from clear blue to gray, with dark clouds gathering. As we walked along the ancient street to our hotel, raindrops began falling. Everyone around us took cover. “Should we take a taxi?”  I asked aloud, the rain being so loud that I had to raise my voice. “It’s only a ten-minute walk, and let’s go much faster,” Doris shouted back. As the rain and wind increased, we quickened our pace. The ancient street was soon covered with deep water that quickly made our shoes totally wet. Suddenly, the big thunder sounded! Dusk had turned into total darkness, which was only interrupted by the sudden lightning from the sky. Finally, we realized we had been walking for a much longer time than it should have taken us to reach the hotel. We had taken a wrong turn somewhere. We were lost! What’s worse, both of our cell phones were powered off, so we couldn’t call for help, and the street was empty. Shocked, we headed back down the street, wishing to find the right direction. It was still raining cats and dogs. Our clothes and bags were completely wet. Later looking out into the darkness through the shrubs (灌木) along the street, we realized we had come to a residential neighborhood. “Let’s just wait for a minute,” Doris said. As we stood under a tree, some headlights appeared. A car pulled up just about a few meters away by the street. Soon, a woman got out of the car. Then, I walked towards the woman with hope. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ I found her explanation of directions only confused us, however hard she tried. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 试题 第3页(共12页) 试题 第4页(共12页) 试题 第1页(共12页) 试题 第2页(共12页) 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 2026-2027学年高一选择性必修第一册英语单元自测 Unit 3 The art of painting ·基础通关 (时间:120分钟,满分:150分) 注意事项: 1. 1.What is the weather like now? ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ( 1 ) 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 2026-2027学年高一选择性必修第一册英语单元自测 Unit 3 The art of painting ·基础通关 (时间:120分钟,满分:150分) 第一部分 听力(共两节,满分30分) 1.B 2.C 3.A 4.B 5.A 6.B 7.C 8.A 9.B 10.C 11.C 12.A 13.B 14.B 15.A 16.C 17.B 18.C 19.C 20.A 第二部分 阅读 (共两节,满分50分) 第一节 21.B 22.D 23.A 24.A 25.B 26.C 27.C 28.C 29.D 30.B 31.A 32.D 33.C 34.C 35.B 第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 36.F 37.A 38.D 39.G 40.E 第三部分 语言知识运用 (共两节,满分30分) 第1节 (共15小题;每小题1分,满分15分) 41.B 42.C 43.A 44.D 45.D 46.C 47.B 48.A 49.A 50.C 51.B 52.C 53.B 54.D 55.A 第二节 (共10小题;每小题1.5分,满分15分) 56.and 57.in 58.what 59.absolutely 60.to find 61.doing 62.is 63.the 64.our 65.meaning 第四部分 写作(共两节,满分40分) 第一节 Dear friends from New Zealand,     Welcome to our school! I’m honored to introduce our “Class Duty Week” system. Each class takes turns managing campus cleanliness for one week, with students assigned to different areas like classrooms and gardens.     Never before have I realized how much effort maintaining a clean environment requires. It is through this practice that we develop responsibility and teamwork. With hands getting dirty and sweat dripping down, we learn the true meaning of labor.     This experience not only keeps our campus tidy but also teaches us valuable life lessons. Thank you for listening! Then, I walked towards the woman with hope. When I was close to her, she turned back and was shocked to see me. I apologized and told her our problem.“Can you give us some directions? That is my friend, ” I added, pointing to Doris, who was still under the tree. The woman nodded friendly, wearing a gentle smile. She seemed to relax as she inspected us and asked where we were trying to go. And then she attempted to show us directions in broken English. I found her explanation of directions only confused us, however hard she tried. Then, the woman said, “Get in my car and I’ll take you back.” “That’s really nice of you, but we don’t want to get your seats wet, ” we responded, pointing to our wet clothes and bags. But she insisted. We were so tired that we finally went inside, hoping to get back as soon as possible. To our excitement, we soon reached our hotel. When we offered her some money in reward for her kindness, she just refused to take and wished us a good night. Waving goodbye to her, we witnessed her disappearing in the darkness. Although we were cold, our hearts were filled with warmth. Unit 3 The art of painting ·基础通关 (时间:120分钟,满分:150分) 注意事项: 1. 1.What is the weather like now? B.The benefits of regular sleep. C.The necessity of work-life balance. 【答案】18.C 19.C 20.A 【详解】World Sleep Day was organized since 2008. It is held on March 21 every year. It aims to highlight the importance of good sleep and raise awareness of how sleep determines our everyday lives. Now, a world first study from the University of South Australia shows that increased physical activities during the day improve sleep quality and reduce tiredness, emphasizing the importance of exercise for a good night’s rest. The study found that children and adults with higher levels of moderate to vigorous physical activity have less troubled sleep and better sleep quality. In general, adults are thought to need at least eight hours of sleep a night, but a recent survey found that on work days, only 21% of them really get a full eight hours of sleep. For teenagers, a healthy amount is about eight to nine hours per night. However, 27% of people throughout the world have sleep problems. Now there are over 80 kinds of sleep disorders, and most people know little about their danger. So for our good life and work, it’s necessary for us to realize the importance of sleep and try to have a good sleep. A Atlanta offers a variety of events you won’t want to miss. 根据原文第一段“The root of “courage” is “cor,” the Latin word for heart. Originally, courage meant “to speak one’s mind by telling all one’s heart.” While courage is often associated with heroism nowadays, I believe true courage lies in being open and honest about who we are and how we feel.(“courage”的词根是拉丁语“cor”,意思是心。最初,勇气的意思是 “敞开心扉说出自己的想法”。虽然如今勇气常与英雄主义联系在一起,但我认为真正的勇气在于坦诚地面对自己是谁、自己的感受如何。)” 可知,作者提及勇气的本义是为了论证自己所认为的勇气的真谛。故选A。 25. 根据原文第五段““It’s okay to admit when you’re struggling or not feeling alright. In fact, it’s important to speak up and ask for help when you need it. That’s how we improve and grow.”(“承认自己在挣扎或感觉不好是可以的。事实上,在需要的时候说出来并寻求帮助是很重要的。”)” 可知,这两位学生建议女儿在需要时说出来并寻求帮助。故选B。 26.推理判断题。根据原文第六段“However, the two students addressed the celebrating group directly, emphasizing the importance of staying together in tough environments. Their words led the group to apologize to us for overlooking our struggle.(然而,这两位学生直接对正在庆祝的队伍说明,强调在艰苦环境中待在一起的重要性。他们的话让队伍为忽视了我们的困境而向我们道歉。)” 可知,这两位学生直接指出队伍的问题,是真正勇气的体现。故选C。 27.推理判断题。根据原文第一段“While courage is often associated with heroism nowadays, I believe true courage lies in being open and honest about who we are and how we feel.(虽然如今勇气常与英雄主义联系在一起,但我认为真正的勇气在于坦诚地面对自己是谁、自己的感受如何。)” 以及最后一段“Courage, I’ve come to realize, has a ripple effect. Each time we choose courage, we inspire those around us to be a little braver and make the world a little better.(我逐渐意识到,勇气具有涟漪效应。每次我们选择勇敢,就会激励身边的人也变得更勇敢一点,让世界变得更美好一点。)”并结合全文内容可知,文章主要介绍了作者对勇气的理解,认为真正的勇气是坦诚做自己、表达内心与寻求帮助,并通过登山途中两位大学生的勇敢行为,说明勇气具有涟漪效应。故作者想要告诉我们,不必成为英雄也可以拥有勇气。故选C。 C Margaret Mead, the most famous anthropologist (人类学家) in the world, was born in the USA in 1901. 根据第一段“Mead was particularly interested in primitive (原始的) communities because she believed that such cultures cut off from the outside could serve as “laboratories” that would reveal ways of living that the modern world had forgotten about but needed to remember.(米德对原始群落格外感兴趣,因为她认为这些与世隔绝的文化可以充当“实验室”,能够揭示现代社会已经遗忘却需要重拾的生活方式)”可知,米德痴迷原始群落,是因为它们能揭示现代社会遗失的生活方式。 29. 根据第二段“Mead gradually got interested in gender roles and discovered that modern societies are far more strict in this area than primitive ones.(米德逐渐对性别角色产生兴趣,并发现现代社会在这方面比原始社会严格得多)”以及后文列举两个部落男女无固定性格定式的例子可知,作者列举巴布亚新几内亚部落,是为了证明原始社会的性别角色规则更为宽松,打破现代固化性别认知。 30. 根据第三段 “Rather, it’s the established social rules and public expectations that have laid the groundwork for each individual’s psychological makeup.(相反,是既定的社会规则和公众期待为每个人的心理特质奠定了基础)”可知,长期形成的社会习俗塑造了人的性格。 31. 根据第三段“We must recognize that beneath the superficial classifications of sex and race, the same talents always exist, occurring again generation after generation, only to perish because society has no place for them.(我们必须认识到,在性别和种族的表层分类之下,相同的天赋一直存在,代代相传,只因社会没有适配的空间而perish)”可知,相同的天赋因为没有适配的空间而最终消亡。 D For a long time, psychologists believed in “catharsis theory,” or the idea that it’s better to release negative emotions than hold onto them. 根据第一段“For a long time, psychologists believed in “catharsis theory,” or the idea that it’s better to release negative emotions than hold onto them. (长期以来,心理学家们信奉“宣泄理论”,即认为释放负面情绪比压抑它们更好的观点。)”可知,传统的发泄观点是释放负面情绪是合乎逻辑的。故选D项。 33.词句猜测题。根据第三段“The problem is that when you’re furious (愤怒的), it feels better to shout angrily than it does to take some centering deep breaths.  (他说,尽管像打沙袋这样的活动实际上并不能减轻愤怒,但“75%的人表示在做了这些活动后感觉更好”。)”可知,研究发现75%的人认为这些活动后会感觉更好,由此可知,研究中发现的“that”指的是发泄愤怒带来的暂时缓解。故选C项。 34.推理判断题。根据第五段“When you feel yourself getting stuck in the trap of venting, look for healthier coping strategies. If yoga and meditation aren’t your thing, try a quick shift in perspective. Bushman’s research supports the “fly-on-the-wall” technique, which challenges angry people to imagine themselves as a third party observing the situation that made them angry. (当你感觉自己陷入宣泄的陷阱时,要寻找更健康的应对策略。如果瑜伽和冥想不合你的心意,试试快速转换视角。布什曼的研究支持“墙上苍蝇”技巧,即让愤怒的人想象自己作为第三方观察令他们生气的情境。)”可推断,第五段提到“墙上苍蝇”技巧是为了说明视角的变化。故选C项。 35.主旨大意题。通读全文,尤其是第一段“But back in 2002, Brad Bushman, a professor of communication at the Ohio State University, published a study that questioned that logic, saying that venting (发泄) “is the worst thing you can do” when you’ re mad and it’s “adding more fuel to the fire.”(但早在2002年,俄亥俄州立大学传播学教授布拉德・布什曼发表了一项研究,对这一逻辑提出了质疑。他指出,生气时发泄“是你能做的最糟糕的事情”,这无异于“火上浇油”。)”可知,文章先指出传统宣泄理论的问题,接着说明发泄愤怒的危害,最后介绍应对技巧,“发泄愤怒的危害及其应对技巧”最能概括全文。故选B项。 第二节(共5小题:每小题2. 5分, 满分12. 5分) 阅读下面短文, 从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 As high school students, we must spend the vast majority of our time in class and reading books. As high school students, we must spend the vast majority of our time in class and reading books. Without a friend, our world would be a wilderness. However, not all good people are matches for us. Moreover, we should be careful about students with many bad habits, since they could pass those habits on to us. 38.根据前句No one is perfect. However, it’s better to be honest with friends, to tell them what is bothering us and seek their advice. Listen to others’ ideas, whether you agree with them or not, and be happy to make friends with your friends’ friends. The first class I took in college — philosophy — changed my life in a way I never expected. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ I found her explanation of directions only confused us, however hard she tried. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】Then, I walked towards the woman with hope. Although we were cold, our hearts were filled with warmth The sky is covered with a blanket of grey clouds. Is that going to be Sunny this weekend?
