根据原文“ This has happened to many students.”,很多学生都有赶时间来不及吃早饭的经历。
根据原文“Students mustn’t eat in the classroom.”,规定学生禁止在教室进食,体现管控严格。strict“严格的”,be strict about为固定搭配,表示“对……
根据原文“because they leave crumbs and wrappers”,后文老师抱怨学生会制造垃圾,能看出老师不认同该行为。
根据前文“Eating in the classroom can cause a mess”,产生脏乱之后需要打扫干净。
根据后文“Teachers expect students to do well at school. But when students are hungry, they can’t concentrate on their studies.”,内容围绕学生在校学习展开。

根据文章第四段第二句“The VGTV is a small robot that is used to help search for people who are trapped (受困的) under fallen buildings.”
根据“The Groundwater Voyager makes maps of underwater environment. Some robots can work in space easily. They have successfully explored planets.”

In Western countries, more and more foods have additives (添加剂) in them. What are additives? Additives are chemicals (化学品) which are put into foods to give them color and taste, to stop them going bad and so on. But doctors say that some additives can be very bad for our health.
Now let’s look at how additives can be bad for our health. For example, a little English girl called Sally Jones is two years old and is quite ordinary (普通的). But when she was younger, she never went to sleep at night. She never got tired. Her parents were very worried. Finally, Sally’s parents took her to a special doctor.
But how to solve this problem? The special doctor said that Sally Jones must keep away from food with additives in it. He was sure that the additives had a very bad effect (影响) on her body, and made her too active. He was quite correct. As soon as Sally started to eat foods with no additives, she began to sleep well at night.
Now she’s the same as other little girls, except that she can’t eat many foods that other children love, such as ice-creams, because they have additives in them.

由第一段“Additives are chemicals which are put into foods to give them color and taste, to stop them going bad”可知,添加剂的作用是赋予食物颜色和味道,并防止变质。
由第二段“she never went to sleep at night. She never got tired. Her parents were very worried.”
由第三段“The special doctor said that Sally Jones must keep away from food with additives in it.”

When I was 19 years old, I was at a dance club. As we were walking to my car one cold night, a man walked up to us. Behind him was a woman carrying a small child. The child had a jacket on but it wasn’t buttoned up (扣上). The man began to tell us he wanted to borrow some money for the night to get his wife and kid into a hotel. He had a job but no place to live in and was waiting for the first pay check (工资单). He said he could get our mailing address and mail the money back.
The guy I was with reached into his pocket to give this man a $20 bill. As the man was reaching his hand out to take the money, I put my hand on my new friend’s hand and said, “Can I talk to you for a minute ?”
I told him that every day people asked my mother for money on her way to work. She said they made more money than she did. These people were cheating those with soft hearts. My new friend looked at me with disappointment and said, “Michelle, I know there are people out there that take advantage of (利用) others. I also know there are people out there that are one paycheck away from being homeless. If I give $20 to 10 people and only one of them really needs it and uses it for the right thing, it is worth it.”
I am now 37 years old and I have never forgotten what he said to me. I don’t even remember his name, but I do remember that the experience changes the way I look at different situations.
