First, never play with matches. They are not toys and can cause a fire very quickly. Second, make sure you have smoke alarms in your home. They will ring if there is a fire and give you time to run away. Third, if there is a fire, put a wet cloth on your nose at first, and then call 119 as soon as possible. Finally, make a plan to run away from your home when there is a fire.
All in all, we call on every student to take action to care about fire safety. And our station will hold an open day for the public two days later. You are free to come. At last, wish you a happy Thursday today! Thank you for listening!

During a recent math exam, I found myself in a situation that tested my honesty.
Maths has always been the subject that I’m best at. And this time I was rather sure of myself because I had spent several days preparing for the maths exam.
Halfway through, I couldn’t work out a really difficult problem. I had practised similar problems, but my mind just went empty. Time was almost up, and I suddenly felt very worried. Just then, I noticed the boy next to me had already solved the problem. And I could see his answer clearly.
My heart began beating really fast and felt a bit nervous. I thought about copying the answer. It seemed like an easy way out, and I was sure no one would notice.
But suddenly, I remembered what my parents and teachers always told me: Being honest is the most important. Cheating (作弊) might get me a good grade this time, but it wouldn’t help me learn or become better. I knew that if I did it, I’d regret it later. So, I managed to calm down and chose to be honest. And then, I picked up my pencil and started to solve the problem by myself. It took a few minutes, but I finally made it.
When the exam ended, I didn’t feel glad just for finishing it. In fact, I truly and really took pride in myself for being honest. Even though I didn’t get all the answers correct, I knew I did the right thing. This experience taught me clearly that honesty is far more important than grades. Cheating won't get you far, while being honest will always lead you to the right path!
19. Why did the writer want to cheat during the exam?
A. He sat next to his friend. B. He met a difficult problem.
C. He didn't prepare for the exam well. D. He hadn't practised similar problems.
20. What does the underlined word “it” in Paragraph 4 refer to?
A. Working out the problem. B. Picking up the pencil.
C. Asking the teacher for help. D. Copying the neighbor's answer.
21. How did the writer’s feelings change according to the text?
A. nervous-worried-excited-proud B. nervous-worried-proud-confident
C. confident-worried-nervous-proud D. confident-nervous-proud-excited
22. What lesson can you learn from the passage?
A. Math exams are always difficult. B. Honesty is more valuable than grades.
C. Practising problems brings good results. D. Parents and teachers help students succeed.
B 20. D 21. C 22. B
根据文章第三段“Halfway through, I couldn't work out a really difficult problem...Just then, I noticed the boy next to me had already solved the problem.”
根据文章第四段“I thought about copying the answer. It seemed like an easy way out...” 选项D“Copying the neighbor's answer”与此相符。
梳理作者的情感变化:第二段“I was rather sure of myself” (自信);第三段“I suddenly felt very worried” (担心);第四段“felt a bit nervous” (紧张);第六段“took pride in myself” (骄傲)。顺序为confident-worried-nervous-proud。

C
①There was no possibility of taking a walk that day. The cold winter wind blew hard, and heavy rain poured down. After dinner, Mrs. Reed and her three children—Eliza, John and Georgiana—sat happily by the fireplace in the drawing room.
②Mrs. Reed never liked her niece Jane. She let her own children play and laugh around her, but she told Jane to stay away. “You can’t join us,” she said coldly. “Not until you learn to be more friendly and lively. Now sit somewhere quiet and don’t speak unless you can talk nicely.”
③Jane felt sad but not surprised. She quietly walked into the breakfast room next door. There was a small bookcase there. She picked a book with many pictures and climbed onto the window seat. She pulled the red curtain close around her, making a little warm corner for herself.
④Just then, John rushed in. He was a big boy, much stronger than Jane. “What are you doing here, you poor mouse?” he shouted. He walked over and took Jane’s book away. Before Jane could stop him, he threw the book hard at her head. Jane fell off the seat and hit her back against the wall.
⑤She felt a sharp pain, but she looked at John angrily. John got mad at her look. “How dare you look at me like that!” he cried and started to push her. This time, Jane couldn’t stand it anymore. She fought back as hard as she could.
⑥Mrs. Reed heard the noise and ran in. Without asking what happened, she shouted at Jane. “You bad girl! How dare you fight with John!” ________. Bessie took Jane upstairs to the cold, dark red room. It was the room where Jane’s uncle had died. Jane was so afraid that her hands shook. She knocked on the door and begged to be let out, but no one answered. She sat on the floor, tears rolling down her face. Yet in her heart, she knew she hadn’t done anything wrong. She promised herself that one day, she would leave this terrible place and find a home where she was loved.
—Adapted from Jane Eyre

24. Which of the following sentences can be put in ________?
A. She asked Bessie to bring some food for Jane
B. She told Jane to say sorry to John immediately
C. She hugged John tightly and checked if he was hurt
D. She called the nurse Bessie and asked her to lock Jane in the red room
25. What is the structure of the passage?
A. ①/②/③④⑤/⑥ B. ①/②③④/⑤/⑥ C. ①/②③/④⑤/⑥ D. ①/②③/④/⑤⑥
26. What message can we get from Jane’s experience in this passage?

A 24. D 25. C 26. D
根据文章第③段中“She picked a book with many pictures and climbed onto the window seat. She pulled the red curtain close around her, making a little warm corner for herself.”
D“She called the nurse Bessie and asked her to lock Jane in the red room”与下文衔接最紧密。
根据文章最后一段“Yet in her heart, she knew she hadn’t done anything wrong. She promised herself that one day, she would leave this terrible place and find a home where she was loved.”
D
On October 10, 1925, the Forbidden City in Beijing opened its gates to the public for the first time. It was no longer a hidden place just for emperors. Instead, it became the Palace Museum, where anyone could walk through the halls and learn about China’s history. Today, it’s the most visited museum in the world, with nearly 20 million tickets sold every year.
Have you ever been to the Palace Museum? Once you step inside, your eyes will be caught by one of the richest cultural collections on Earth. More than 1.8 million old objects (物件) are shown or stored there. Each of them is like a quiet storyteller: it shows how people in ancient China lived, what they made, and what they believed in. When you look at the china, dragon robes (袍服) and golden treasures, you won’t just admire their beauty—you’ll start to understand the culture behind them. These old objects are not just valuable things; they are “threads” connecting you to a culture that has lasted for over 5,000 years.
The Palace Museum itself is also a wonder. The former Forbidden City is the world’s largest wooden palace group. Its red walls, golden roofs, great gates and big yards show the beauty of balance and peace—two key ideas in Chinese philosophy (哲学). Only when you walk through its grounds can you truly feel the thought and power in its design.
As the Palace Museum celebrates its 100th year, it keeps telling us why history must stay alive. Every part of the museum and every old object carries a message across time. It invites us to listen, learn and connect with a culture that has shaped human history. The museum has surprised millions of visitors, and it’s still calling us to step through its gates and find out more about China’s past.
27. When did the Forbidden City open to the public and become the Palace Museum?
A. On October 10, 1925. B. Over 5,000 years ago.
C. When it had 20 million visitors. D. After it built new golden roofs.
28. The writer compares the old objects to “a quiet storyteller”(Paragraph 2), what can we infer from this expression?
A. It explains that the objects can show stories of ancient Chinese life gently.
B. It shows that the objects are silent and cannot communicate with people.
C. It tells that the objects were created by famous storytellers in ancient China.
D. It suggests that the objects are only interesting to people who love listening to stories.
29. Which of the following words can replace the underlined word “threads”?
A. Spirits B. Bridges C. Records D. Symbols
30. What’s the best title for the passage?
A. The Palace Museum: A Window into China’s Past
B. The History and Development of the Forbidden City
C. Valuable Cultural Collections in the Palace Museum
D. The Design of the World’s Largest Wooden Palace
A 28. A 29. B 30. A

根据第二段“Each of them is like a quiet storyteller: it shows how people in ancient China lived, what they made, and what they believed in.”
根据第二段“…threads connecting you to a culture”,文物是连接现代人与古老文明的纽带,Bridges (桥梁) 最贴合词义。

根据“my car shook and stopped”可知,车出故障是突发状况。
根据“my illness made it impossible…”
根据“around, I saw…”

into“进入”、from“从……”、on“在上面”,不符合场景。

Amy
One possible reply to “Friend lost”
Thank you for your question. I’m sorry you have trouble with your best friend John.
First, talk to him gently and tell him you worry about his schoolwork and his addiction to online games. Then invite him to fun activities such as playing football or watching movies on weekends to keep him away from games. If he refuses to change, turn to your teacher or his parents for useful advice.
I hope he can get out of the trouble soon.
One possible reply to “No time for me”
Thank you for your question. It’s normal to feel upset, but you need to understand their situation first—your little brother is only 3 years old and he needs lots of care from your parents. Why not express your feelings to your parents calmly? Tell them you hope to spend more time with them. Also, you can join in doing things with your family, such as helping look after your brother or cooking simple meals together. This way, you’ll find your parents love you just as much as they love your brother.

A. Working out the problem. B. Picking up the pencil.
C. Asking the teacher for help. D. Copying the neighbor's answer.
21. How did the writer’s feelings change according to the text?
A. nervous-worried-excited-proud B. nervous-worried-proud-confident
C. confident-worried-nervous-proud D. confident-nervous-proud-excited
22. What lesson can you learn from the passage?
A. Math exams are always difficult. B. Honesty is more valuable than grades.
C. Practising problems brings good results. D. Parents and teachers help students succeed.

30. What’s the best title for the passage?
