My Good Friend
I have a good friend. Her name is Linda and she is thirteen years old. She is of medium height and has straight dark hair. She is good at modern dance, and she often practises after school.
Linda has many good qualities. First, she is honest and never tells lies. Second, she is patient and caring. When I have problems with English, I often turn to her for help. She explains difficult words to me again and again. Thanks to her support, I become more confident.
In my opinion, a good friend is someone we can trust and count on. True friendship grows from respect and help.

Many people think best friends must be the same. They may have the same hobbies, wear the same clothes or like the same music. However, a new school project shows a different idea: differences can also make friendship stronger.
In the project, students worked in pairs. Each pair needed to finish a “friendship task” in one week. Some students had very different personalities. For example, May was active and loved modern dance, while Jane was quiet and enjoyed reading diaries. At first, they thought it would be difficult to work together.
Then they learned to respect each other. May helped Jane speak more confidently in front of the class. Jane helped May write clearer sentences for their poster. They found that different skills could support the same goal. Their project was about “How to ask wh-questions to know a friend better”. They wrote questions such as “What do you like?”, “Who do you turn to for help?” and “Why do you admire your friend?”
The project ended with a sharing meeting. Many students said they no longer looked for friends only like themselves. They realized that a friend with different qualities can help them improve.
Friendship does not always begin with being the same. Sometimes it begins when two people listen, learn and grow together.

A.May and Jane had exactly the same hobbies.
B.The project lasted for one month.
C.Students practised wh-questions in the project.
D.Students stopped working in pairs after the project.
35.What is the best title for the passage?

A friendship bench is a special bench in a school playground. When a student feels lonely or needs a friend, he or she can sit on the bench. Other students will know that this person may need company or help.
At Sunshine Junior High School, the idea started from a Grade Seven project. Some students made a survey and found that new students were sometimes too shy to ask for help. They designed a yellow bench and put it near the library. They also made a poster to describe how to use it.
The rules are simple. If you sit on the bench, you should be willing to talk with others. If you see someone on the bench, you can ask, “What can I do for you?” or “Would you like to join us?” Teachers say these questions are polite and useful.
The friendship bench has changed the school. Students now care more about quiet classmates. Some students have found new friends there. The project teaches everyone that friendship begins with noticing others and giving support.

阅读短文,然后根据内容回答所提问题。

What makes a good friend? A group of Grade Seven students made a survey in their school. They asked 200 students to choose the most important quality of a good friend. The students could choose only one answer from honesty, patience, support, same hobbies and good appearance.
The result was interesting. Eighty students chose honesty. They said an honest friend never tells lies and can be trusted. Fifty students chose support because they wanted a friend to stand by them when they had problems. Thirty students chose patience. They believed a patient friend listens carefully and does not get angry easily.
Only twenty-five students chose same hobbies, and fifteen chose good appearance. “Before the survey, I thought most students cared about appearance,” said Li Ming, one of the survey members. “However, we found that personal qualities are much more important.”
The survey also changed the students’ thoughts about themselves. Some students began to ask, “Am I honest? Am I patient? Do I support my friends?” The teacher said the survey was useful because it helped students understand that friendship is built by actions, not just words.

C

第二节 任务型阅读(共5小题,每小题2分,满分10分)
阅读短文,然后根据内容回答所提问题。
