I want my film to document their reintroduction, interview key people, and track the tigers’ progress.
M: Tell me more.
W: It will be a short film, but I’ll need between $ 12,000 and $ 16,000. With your business links and love for tigers, I thought you’d be the person to ask.

M: That’s incredible. But that was long ago. What about the present?
W: In modern times, China is a leader in technology. They’ve produced some of the world’s most advanced electronics and useful devices. The train we are traveling on now is Chinese.
M: That’s impressive. What else have they contributed?
W: Chinese cuisine is another great example. Where would the world be without Chinese restaurants?
M: Ah, yes. Chinese food is especially rich and delicious. I take my family out for Chinese food several times a month.
W: Me, too. And let’s not forget traditional Chinese medicine, which has been practiced for thousands of years and continues to influence healthcare globally.
M: I never realized the extent of China’s contributions to the world.
W: It’s truly remarkable, from the ancient inventions that shaped civilization to the modern innovations driving global industries.

根据文章第二段中““Here” is room 386, where each year, about 500 LPCH patients also become students. The hospital school is free of parents, doctors, and medical procedures. It’s a place of learning. About half of Ho’s students stay for a week or less; others are there for more than a year. Most of Ho’s students will recover, which means that preparing them to return to school is an increasingly important component of care. 故选A。
根据文章第三段中“I’m a coach, an adviser, and a comforter, and that’s what it means to be a hospital teacher. (我是一名教练、一名顾问和一名安慰者,这就是作为一名医院教师的意义)”可知,Ho工作的一个特点是扮演多种角色。故选D。
21.词句猜测题。根据文章第四段划线词所在句“Some teachers don’t give the kids any assignments; they express sympathy instead. “I feel like it is a disservice to the kids,” Ho says. (一些老师不给孩子们布置任何作业,而是表达同情。Ho说:“我觉得这对孩子们是一种伤害”)” 可推知,其中的“it”指的是不给孩子们布置作业这件事。故选C。
22.推理判断题。根据文章最后一段中Julie Good所说的“It’s about problem-solving around what it means to have a full life. Those kids have dreams. School can keep those dreams alive by giving kids a way to learn and grow.

根据第二段“In this year’s race, a robot called Lightning, which was created by Honor, a Chinese company best known for its phones, finished the half marathon in just 50 minutes, 26 seconds. That not only won the robot race, but beat Kiplimo’s world record by almost seven minutes. (在今年的比赛中,由知名手机制造商荣耀公司研发的名为“闪电”的机器人仅用50分26秒便完成了半程马拉松,不仅赢得了机器人组的比赛,还以近七分钟的优势超越了基普利莫的世界纪录。)”可知,Lightning用时50分26秒,比基普利莫的世界纪录快了将近7分钟,因此基普利莫的世界纪录约为50分26秒+7分钟≈57分26秒,与D项57分20秒最为接近。
24.词句猜测题。根据第三段“But the robots still had the challenge of traversing the course and not crashing into the other 300 robots running the race. (但机器人仍需面对traversing赛道、不与其他300台正在比赛的机器人相撞的挑战。)”可知,机器人面临的挑战是沿着赛道行进并避免与其他机器人相撞。traversing在此处意为“沿着……行进”,即following(跟随、沿……行进)之意。
25.推理判断题。根据第四段“During the race, some fell, and others ran off the course. Many had to stop because of problems. Even the winning robot fell down at one point. But it was able to get back up and finish the race. In all, 47 robots finished. Lightning robots came in first, second, and third in the race. (比赛中,一些机器人摔倒了,另一些则跑出了赛道。许多机器人因故障而被迫停下。就连冠军机器人也曾在某处跌倒,但最终成功爬起并完成了比赛。总计共有47台机器人完成比赛。闪电机器人在比赛中分别获得了第一、第二和第三名。 )”可知,300多台机器人参赛,仅有47台完赛,说明大多数机器人表现不佳,并非所有机器人都表现良好。
26.推理判断题。根据最后一段“The race was meant as a display for China’s efforts in robotics. That’s an area that many people think will be extremely important in the future. China already has more robots doing actual work than all other countries put together. Given the huge improvements that happened in just one year, it’s hard to know what robots might be able to do in the future. (这场赛事旨在展示中国在机器人领域的努力,这一领域被许多人认为在未来将极为重要。目前,中国的机器人从事实际工作的数量已超过所有其他国家的总和。仅从短短一年内取得的巨大进步来看,未来机器人可能实现的功能令人难以想象。)”可知,作者用“巨大进步”“未来机器人可能实现的功能令人难以想象”等表述,体现出对机器人未来发展持积极、乐观的态度。

【详解】27.细节理解题。根据第一段“These remains are not mere relics of the past; they are the foundation stones of national remembrance, a harrowing testament to the cost of war and the resilience of those who survived. (这些遗物并非仅仅是过去的纪念物;它们是国家记忆的基石,是关于战争代价以及幸存者坚韧精神的令人痛心的见证。)”可知,南京集体墓地中的遗骸主要代表着战争代价以及国家坚韧精神的见证。故选C。
28.细节理解题。根据第二段“The “Great Wall” is not built of brick and mortar, but of collective memory, of the blood shed in Nanjing and countless other battles. (“长城”并非由砖石砌成,而是由集体的记忆构成的,是南京战役以及无数其他战役中所流下的鲜血所铸就的。)”可知,所谓的“新长城”是由集体记忆和历史教训构成。故选B。
29.细节理解题。根据第三段“Their stories force us to confront the darkest corners of human cruelty — not to dwell in hatred, but to forge a stronger peace. (他们的故事促使我们正视人类残忍行为中最黑暗的一面——不是沉溺于仇恨之中,而是要努力构建更坚固的和平。)”可知,关于南京大屠杀的现代影片的主要目的是铭记历史并促进和平,故选C。
30.推理判断题。根据倒数第二段“Today, as Japan’s right-wing factions whitewash wartime crimes and global conflicts flare anew, these lessons are more urgent than ever. (如今,在日本右翼势力试图掩盖战时罪行的同时,全球冲突再度爆发,这些教训显得愈发重要。)”可知,作者提及日本的右翼势力是为了强调持续需要具备历史意识这一点。故选B。

Kathy Ho teaches high school inside Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford (LPCH). “Sometimes I don’t like saying that I’m a teacher,” says Ho. “People get in their minds an idea of what teachers do, but that’s not really what it is here.”
“Here” is room 386, where each year, about 500 LPCH patients also become students. The hospital school is free of parents, doctors, and medical procedures. It’s a place of learning. About half of Ho’s students stay for a week or less; others are there for more than a year. Most of Ho’s students will recover, which means that preparing them to return to school is an increasingly important component of care.
Still, in room 386, academics don’t come first. Physical health and mental health are the priority. “If you’re scared about something and thinking only about that, there’s no way you’re going to be able to learn,” Ho says. “I’m a coach, an adviser, and a comforter, and that’s what it means to be a hospital teacher.”
There are up to 30 students at any given time in Ho’s class. She generally works with their regular teachers to get lessons and tests being used at their home schools. Some teachers don’t give the kids any assignments; they express sympathy instead. “I feel like it is a disservice to the kids,” Ho says. “They think their teachers don’t care about their schoolwork.”
Ho recognizes the psychological benefit of helping kids keep up with their peers (同龄人) outside the hospital. “I actually think the medicine is only a small piece for some problems,” says Julie Good, director of pain management services at LPCH. “It’s about problem-solving around what it means to have a full life. Those kids have dreams. School can keep those dreams alive by giving kids a way to learn and grow.”
19.Who does Ho teach at LPCH?
A.Sick children. B.Young nurses.
C.Medical students. D.Patients’ parents.
20.What is a characteristic of Ho’s job?
A.Prioritizing academics. B.Encouraging innovation.
C.Treating various diseases. D.Playing multiple roles.
21.What does the underlined word “it” refer to in paragraph 4?
A.Offering regular lessons. B.Paying extra attention.
C.Assigning no schoolwork. D.Showing no sympathy.
22.How does the hospital school benefit the students according to Good?
A.It eases peer pressure. B.It helps them live in hope.
C.It frees them from aches. D.It entertains them with stories.

On April 19th, 2026, about 12,000 runners took part in a half marathon in Beijing, China. On a separate track, beside the human runners, over 300 human-like robots faced the same challenge.
A half marathon is a 21-kilometer running race. In March of this year, Olympic gold medalist Jacob Kiplimo set the world record for the half marathon. Last year, this event was held for the first time in E-Town, a technology center in Beijing. The fastest robot finished in 2 hours, 40 minutes, and 42 seconds — far slower than the human runners. In this year’s race, a robot called Lightning, which was created by Honor, a Chinese company best known for its phones, finished the half marathon in just 50 minutes, 26 seconds. That not only won the robot race, but beat Kiplimo’s world record by almost seven minutes.
Humans and robots ran on separate tracks to avoid crashes. But the robots still had the challenge of traversing the course and not crashing into the other 300 robots running the race. There were two main groups of robots — those that were controlled remotely (远程) by humans, and autonomous robots that use their own Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems to guide themselves along the course. These robots had to be aware of the road ahead and the activity around them.
During the race, some fell, and others ran off the course. Many had to stop because of problems. Even the winning robot fell down at one point. But it was able to get back up and finish the race. In all, 47 robots finished. Lightning robots came in first, second, and third in the race.
The race was meant as a display for China’s efforts in robotics. That’s an area that many people think will be extremely important in the future. China already has more robots doing actual work than all other countries put together. Given the huge improvements that happened in just one year, it’s hard to know what robots might be able to do in the future.
23.What was Kiplimo’s world record for the half marathon this year?
A.40 minutes, 42 seconds. B.47 minutes, 40 seconds.
C.50 minutes, 26 seconds. D.57 minutes, 20 seconds.
24.What does the underlined word “traversing” in paragraph 3 probably mean?
A.Remembering. B.Guiding.
C.Changing. D.Following.
25.What can be inferred about the robots during the race?
A.Not all of them performed well.
B.Most of them finished the race.
C.None of them were directed by AI.
D.All of them were remote-controlled.
26.What is the author’s attitude to robotics’ future?
A.Doubtful. B.Positive.
C.Worried. D.Unclear.

Flesh and Blood, Bones and Tears:The Eternal Wall of National Memory
The Nanjing Massacre’s mass graves hold more than bones — they cradle the unspoken agony of a nation. Every skull, every fractured rib, whispers of lives extinguished too soon, of a people forced to endure the unimaginable. These remains are not mere relics of the past; they are the foundation stones of national remembrance, a harrowing testament to the cost of war and the resilience of those who survived.
When China’s national anthem declares, “Arise, those who refuse to be slaves! With our flesh and blood, let us build a new Great Wall!”, it is not just a call to arms — it is a vow carved in suffering. The “Great Wall” is not built of brick and mortar, but of collective memory, of the blood shed in Nanjing and countless other battles. The bones of the massacred are its deepest bedrock, their silent screams a warning to future generations: never again shall we allow such devastation.
Modern films and memorials do not merely recount history; they resurrect it. Through survivor testimonies and cinematic reenactments, the dead speak again. Their stories force us to confront the darkest corners of human cruelty — not to dwell in hatred, but to forge a stronger peace. The “new Great Wall” is not one of vengeance, but of vigilance, ensuring that such atrocities are never repeated.
Today, as Japan’s right-wing factions whitewash wartime crimes and global conflicts flare anew, these lessons are more urgent than ever. The Nanjing Massacre was not just China’s tragedy — it was humanity’s failure. To honor the dead, we must turn their suffering into resolve, their bones into bulwarks against historical amnesia. Only by remembering the price of war can we truly value peace.
The past cannot be undone, but its echoes must shape the future. Let the bones of Nanjing stand as eternal sentinels, and let our living flesh and blood build a world where such walls are never needed again.
27.What do the remains in Nanjing’s mass graves primarily represent?
A.Archaeological discoveries from ancient China
B.Evidence of natural disasters in history
C.A testament to war’s cost and national resilience
D.Artistic inspiration for modern sculptures
28.According to the passage, what is the “new Great Wall” made of?
A.Modern construction materials and technology
B.Collective memory and historical lessons
C.Military fortifications along borders
D.Economic achievements in recent decades
29.What is the main purpose of modern films about the Nanjing Massacre?
A.To promote tourism to historical sites
B.To encourage hatred towards other nations
C.To preserve memory and promote peace
D.To showcase advanced filmmaking techniques
30.Why does the author mention Japan’s right-wing factions?
A.To compare different political systems
B.To highlight the ongoing need for historical awareness
C.To criticize modern Japanese culture
D.To discuss international economic competition

Fragile. Oversensitive. Glued to their phones. 31 While there may be some truth to these stereotypical (刻板印象的) features, there might be more to this generation of teens than what is generally observed.
Never before have the lives of any generation of teens been as flooded with mobile technology and social media as the teens of this generation. 32 This is in contrast to the more village spirit or community-oriented attitude of their parents’ and grandparents’ days. We have teens who may not know about who lives in the unit next to theirs, much less offer a friendly nod or wave when they happen to cross paths with a neighbour.
33 Arguably, the very connectedness that social media brings about has led to an opening of minds and a flourishing (繁盛) of dialogue among people of diverse cultures and backgrounds. Logging onto platforms where people of all walks of life meet means that one is exposed to those people and their distinctive ways of life. In comparison, the parents or grandparents of this generation of teens probably did not have the same opportunity to get to know people outside of their social circles at their age, and are thus more likely to have fixed, stereotypical opinions of people different from them. This generation of teens, on the other hand, has the chance to use this technology to learn more about and attempt to understand the variety and diversity out there. 34
To conclude, the teens of this generation differ in many ways from their predecessors (前辈), in some ways more positive than others. 35 Therefore, this generation of teens differs from past generations, with the changes around them.
A.No wonder the self-confidence and mental health of teens have been damaged.
B.Yet, the effects of technology on this generation of teens are not all bad.
C.Is this what comes to mind when we think of the teens of this generation?
D.Their parents or grandparents were likely less connected and more isolated.
E.Moreover, in the older generations’ mind, the teens today are more individualistic.
F.As a result, this might be why the teens today are more open-minded and progressive.
G.Every generation is a product of the cultural, political and economic events of their time.
