Good communication between parents and children is important. It can build a strong family and make everyone feel warm and safe. Here are three ideas to help you.
First, you can have small talk every day. You don’t need to do anything special. Simply ask: “How was your day?” “What made you smile today?”. Share something you experienced, like a game you played or a joke you heard. These small moments can bring joy and help you understand each other clearly.
Second, you need to spend time together. You are both busy, but it’s necessary to do something to create parent-child space. Just spend 30 minutes doing something fun, like cooking a meal or doing exercise.
Third, good parents should never compare children’s grades or hobbies. For example, saying “Why can’t you be like Tom?” might make children feel upset. Remember, every child is special. Even small steps can make your family happier. Start from today!

此处需要一个动词短语,在“encourage sb. to do sth.”

上文“Last year, you chose to volunteer in the wildlife protection team.” 下文“Because I’ve loved animals and nature since I was a child.”David提到自己从小喜欢动物,可知问句是在询问原因,选项A“Why did you make that choice?”
28.下文“No, they thought it was a waste of time at first.” D“Were your parents happy with your decision?”
29.下文“I showed them documentaries and my own research. They saw my passion and agreed to support me.”David提到自己给父母看了纪录片和自己的研究。 B“What changed your parents’ minds?”
30.下文“Yes and no. The fieldwork is tiring, but discovering new species is exciting.”David先回答“既是也不是。” C“Do you find the volunteer work difficult?”
31.下文“Follow your heart. If you find your true interest, never let others stop you.”David提到跟随自己的内心。 E“Would you like to share some advice with us?”
My father was always cold to me. When I was young, I had to take the bus home. 32 the bus stop was far from home, my father never picked me up. I often walked home on my own (独自), 33 in bad weather. When I complained (抱怨), he always said coldly, “That’s what your legs are for!”
I was 34 to walk on my own in the dark because it was dangerous. I thought my father didn’t care about my safety (安全). But that feeling changed on a spring evening.
That evening, when the bus 35 the stop, I got off (下车) the bus to walk home. There were bushes (矮树丛) along the way. Suddenly, I saw something 36 moving (移动) behind the bushes. It was moving to my house. When I got closer, I found it was my father’s 37 . Then I knew, each time I came home, he would stand 38 the bushes. At that time, I knew he 39 for me secretly (秘密地).
Later, I always looked for that “grey”. It showed me 40 father was there. I never told my father I knew his secret. But I never complained again. 41 is always there, whether (无论) we see it or not.
32.A.If B.Because C.Although D.When

36.A.grey B.white C.black D.blue
37.A.neck B.foot C.hand D.head
38.A.in front of B.on C.behind D.between
39.A.cared B.looked C.worked D.hoped
40.A.your B.my C.his D.her
41.A.Choice B.Love C.Respect D.Luck
32.C 33.A 34.B 35.D 36.A 37.D 38.C 39.A 40.B 41.B
上文提到“the bus stop was far from home”与“my father never picked me up”存在转折逻辑,Although“虽然”引导让步状语从句,契合前后反差;If“如果”表假设,Because“因为”表原因,When“当……
空后“the stop”是地点,arrived at“到达”后接小地点,符合下车的动作逻辑;thought of“想到”,looked at“看”,wrote down“写下”,均不符合语境。
后文“I always looked for that ‘grey’”直接引用原文线索grey, grey“灰色的”对应后文提示;white“白色的”,black“黑色的”,blue“蓝色的”,后文无对应颜色线索。
上文“moving behind the bushes”引用原文线索behind the bushes,behind“在……后面”匹配树丛遮挡父亲的设定;in front of“在……前面”,on“在……之上”,between“在两者之间”,均和树丛遮挡的场景矛盾。
39.句意:那一刻,我知道他一直在默默关心我。
全文核心是父亲暗中关爱孩子,cared for“关心”为固定短语契合主旨;looked for“寻找”,worked for“为……
A
The Amazon is the world’s biggest rainforest. It is in South America. It is so wide that it covers a little more than half the size of China! The Amazon River runs through the rainforest. It’s the world’s second-longest river. The Amazon covers much of Brazil. The green colour on the national flag of Brazil stands for the rainforest.
However, climate change and human activities make it “sick”. Usually, the rainforest can fix itself. But now, it feels too “tired” to get better. According to a new study, many trees there may die, and the Amazon rainforest may turn into hot, dry grassland in a few years.
Why is the Amazon “sick”?
The Amazon is one of the world’s wettest places. But since 2005, three droughts have hit the rainforest. They were caused by climate change. The trees don’t have enough water to grow. What’s worse, as they become dry, they can easily catch fire.
Besides, people cut down rainforest trees for wood. They burn the forest to make farmland. All these kinds of activities have made about 17% of the rainforest disappear.
▲
The Amazon is like the lungs of our planet. The rich plants there take carbon dioxide (CO2) out of the air and make oxygen (O2). They make more than 20% of the planet’s oxygen. If the Amazon “dies”, there will be more CO2, and our Earth will become even hotter.
The Amazon is also home to over 3 million animals and plants. Many of them can’t live anywhere else. They would very likely just disappear.
42.What does the green colour on the national flag of Brazil stand for?
A.The river. B.The rainforest. C.The land. D.The sky.
43.The underlined word “droughts” in the passage probably means ______.
A.too little rain B.serious floods C.strong winds D.heavy snow
44.Which activity is NOT mentioned as a reason why the Amazon is “sick”?
A.People cut down trees for wood.
B.People burn the forest to make farmland.
C.People visit the rainforest too often.
D.Trees don’t have enough water to grow.
45.Which sentence can be put in ▲ ?
A.Where is the Amazon?
B.Who lives in the Amazon?
C.How can we protect the Amazon?
D.What will happen if we lose the Amazon?
46.What can we infer (推断) about the future of the Amazon if we don’t protect it?
A.It will become even healthier.
B.It may turn into a hot, dry grassland.
C.It will produce more oxygen.
D.It will attract more animals.
【答案】42.B 43.A 44.C 45.D 46.B
第一段末尾提到:“The green colour on the national flag of Brazil stands for the rainforest.”,说明巴西国旗绿色代表雨林。
43.第三段提到:“But since 2005, three droughts have hit the rainforest...The trees don’t have enough water to grow. What’s worse, as they become dry, they can easily catch fire.”,说明树木缺水、易起火,推知缺水,由此推断droughts意为“雨水稀少”。
44.第三段提到:“The trees don’t have enough water to grow.”;第四段提到:“people cut down rainforest trees for wood. They burn the forest to make farmland.”,说明缺水、砍树、烧林造农田是亚马逊‘生病’的原因。
46.第二段提到:“the Amazon rainforest may turn into hot, dry grassland in a few years.”,说明如果我们不保护亚马逊雨林,它会变成干热草原。
B
A Warm Summer in Mountain Village
Last summer vacation, I took part in a volunteer teaching program in a remote mountain village in Guizhou. I stayed there for thirty days with eleven other student volunteers from different cities. Before we set off, our teacher told us that the village school had only three classrooms and very few teaching supplies, so we prepared storybooks, colored pens, sports balls and new notebooks for the local kids.
When we arrived at the village at noon on July 5th, dozens of children stood at the village gate waiting for us. Their simple faces were full of curiosity and joy. The headmaster of the school welcomed us warmly and showed us our living rooms—small simple rooms with wooden beds and old desks, but they were clean and tidy.
We divided our teaching tasks into different subjects. I was responsible for English and art classes. Most kids there had never learned English before, so I started with simple daily words like apple, sun and friend. In art class, I taught them to draw mountains, rivers and their lovely farm animals. A little girl named Xiao Hong impressed me most. She was quiet and shy at first, but she drew the most beautiful picture of her grandma’s orange orchard. She gave the painting to me as a gift on my last day.
Besides classes, we helped the villagers do farm work after school every afternoon. We watered vegetable fields, picked corn and fed chickens with the children. Every evening, all villagers would invite us to their homes for home-cooked meals. They cooked fresh tofu, wild vegetables and sweet potato porridge for us, and told us old stories about the mountain village under the big banyan tree.
On the last day of our volunteer program, all students held a small performance for us. They sang folk songs, danced and recited poems they wrote themselves. When I said goodbye to Xiao Hong, she held my hand tightly and cried. She promised me that she would study hard and visit me in my city when she grew up.
Back home in the city, I often look at Xiao Hong’s painting and think about that unforgettable summer. This volunteer experience taught me that happiness does not come from expensive toys or delicious food. Helping others and bringing warmth to people in need is the most valuable treasure in life. I decide to join the volunteer teaching program again next summer.

The “slash youths” means those who have more than one personal identity (身份). She gives up her comfortable life because she wants to pursue more meaningful achievements.
A different job can make them develop new experiences and talents. What’s more, they can get accepted by others, and they can have a sense of satisfaction.
A study on “slash youths” in the China Youth Study magazine talks about the background of this phenomenon (现象). As for young people themselves, when they try to rediscover the meaning of work, they face the difficulty of self-development, like feeling powerless, worthless in the job, and so on.
Clearly, the appearance of the slash life leads to some changes. “The slash life shows that our society is changing for the better in some ways, and it welcomes everyone’s self-development, ” said Shi Yanrong, an associate researcher from Tianjin Academy of Social Sciences. “Young people no longer have to depend on work and money for their sense of self-development. 八、阅读下列短文,根据短文内容选择最佳选项。(共15小题;每小题2分,计30分)

B.People burn the forest to make farmland.
C.People visit the rainforest too often.
D.Trees don’t have enough water to grow.
45.Which sentence can be put in ▲ ?
A.Where is the Amazon?
B.Who lives in the Amazon?
C.How can we protect the Amazon?
D.What will happen if we lose the Amazon?
46.What can we infer (推断) about the future of the Amazon if we don’t protect it?

B.It may turn into a hot, dry grassland.
C.It will produce more oxygen.
D.It will attract more animals.

The topic of China’s “slash youths” (斜杠青年) has been hot on social media for some time, drawing attention to the different pursuits (追求) of the young people nowadays.
The “slash youths” means those who have more than one personal identity (身份). They like to show or describe themselves with different identities, such as a nurse and a model, a teacher and an excellent singer, or an engineer and a band player. Li Lan is one of them. She mainly works as a tour guide, and she is also known as a great designer who created many great book covers.
From the point of social development, changeable job markets have appeared because the modern society’s usual organization is partly broken.
They would like to create their own identities.” The researcher added that because people have different interests and are willing to pay for these interests nowadays, the slash life of the youth would drive the growth of a new economy (经济) and its development.
