Read the text below and pay attention to the use of verb-ing.

Although the -ing and -ed forms of verbs can both be used as adjectives, they have different meanings.
The -ing form usually has an active meaning, while the -ed form usually has a passive meaning.
The boss is satisfied with John’s job. ≈ The boss thinks that John’s job is satisfying.
