Tom wonders if/whether his grandpa will come next week.
"Did Mary clean the classroom yesterday?" Mr Hu is asking.
→ Mr Hu is asking if/whether Mary cleaned the classroom yesterday.
She wonders, "Can I be a great scientist like Yuan Longping when I grow up?"
→ She wonders if/whether she can be a great scientist like Yuan Longping when she grows up.
"Can you help me?" she asks.
→ She asks if/whether I can help her.
1.She wonders if this is normal, so she talks to her mum about it.
2.She asks whether her mum has any advice.
解析:whether引导宾语从句,可与if互换;从句用陈述语序(her mum has any advice)。
3.I'm not sure if talking about it will help.
I don't know if he will come tomorrow. If he comes, I will tell you.
Do you know if will he come?
正确:Do you know if he will come?
We do not know whose pencil this is.
Nobody knows when the train will arrive.
注意:常见的连接代词有 what、who、whom、whose、which,连接副词有 when、where、how、why。
Can you tell me what they are doing?
She wants to know why that little boy is crying.
I do not know who is playing the piano next door.
Can you guess whom/who my father is talking with?
I am not sure if/whether the bag is big enough.
Can you tell me which bus I should take?

解析:why引导宾语从句,在从句中作原因状语;从句用陈述语序(their parents have so many rules)。

解析:what引导宾语从句,在从句中作do的宾语;从句用陈述语序(they should do what)。
3.They are not sure how they can have an honest dialogue with their parents.
解析:how引导宾语从句,在从句中作方式状语;从句用陈述语序(they can have an honest dialogue how)。

I don't know who is knocking at the door.(who在从句中作主语,语序不变)
例:I don't know who he is looking for.(who在从句中作宾语,用陈述语序)

Waking up to success
Feeling tired is very common, especially when you have too much homework and too many activities. But there are some easy ways to help you look and feel better.
When you get up, go outside for a few minutes. Just 5 to 10 minutes in the sun can help your body feel more awake in the day.
Besides sunlight, a little exercise helps a lot. Even easy activities like simple yoga, stretching, or a 10-to-20-minute walk can make your mind clear and help you relax.
But movement is not the only way to get more energy. Deep breathing helps too. When you are stressed, your breath becomes shallow and your muscles get tight. This makes you more tired.
Try slow, deep breaths. Breathe out longer than you breathe in. This helps you relax and calm down. If you need to focus before class, try box breathing. Breathe in for 4 seconds, hold for 4 seconds, breathe out for 4 seconds, hold for 4 seconds. After a few minutes, you will feel more focused.
Good posture (姿势) is also important. Your posture shows if you are tired. If you slump forward (驼背), you look and feel more tired. Sit up straight, lift your chest, and imagine you are growing taller. This makes you look awake and feel better at once.
If you sit for long every day, roll your shoulders back every hour. This simple action helps your muscles, improves blood flow to your brain, and keeps you awake.
1.How do you feel when you have too much homework and too many activities?
2.How long should you stay outside in the sun to feel more awake during the day?
3.Why does the writer suggest you not to slump forward when sitting?
4.What can help you relax according to the passage?

I want to know if/whether he is our new teacher.
