Earlier this year, China achieved a new milestone(里程碑) in space exploration(探索). On Jan 3, Chang’e 4 became the first space probe(探测器) in history to land on the far side of the moon, People’s Daily reported.
From Earth, we can only see one side of the moon. The other side has been a mystery. Scientists have long wondered what lies on this side of the moon.
Chang’e 4 has sent back photos of the far side of the moon. It is also used to carry out experiments, such as growing seeds in a low-gravity(低重力) environment. The data(数据) collected from these experiments could be used to help us build a base on the moon in the future.
The success of the Chang’e 4 mission(任务) is a main achievement for China’s space program. It marks a new stage in China’s deep space exploration, said Wu Yanhua, head of China National Space Administration.
China launched(启动) its lunar(月球的) exploration program in 2004, naming it Chang’e. Chinese scientists set three goals —“orbiting(环绕运行), landing and sample(样本) returning”, referring to launching probes that could circle around the moon, touch down on its surface and bring lunar materials back to Earth.
Chang’e 4 has realized the goal of landing. The third will be achieved during the Chang’e 5 mission, which is set to take place before the end of this year, China Daily reported.
Following the success of the Chang’e missions, Chinese scientists are looking even farther into our solar system(太阳系). China’s first Mars(火星) mission is expected to be carried out by 2020, Wu said.
( ) 36. What is the data collected from these experiments used to do?
A. Help us build a base on the earth.
B. Help us build a base on the moon.
C. Help us build a base on Mars.
D. Help us build a base on Venus(金星).
( ) 37. What has Chang’e 4 done so far?
a. It has landed on the far side of the moon.
b. It has taken photos of the far side of the moon.
c. It has carried out experiments on the moon.
d. It has built a base on the moon.
A. abc B. bcd C. acd D. abd
( ) 38. What does the underlined word “It” refer to in Paragraph 4?
A. A base on the moon in the future. B. The Chang’e 4 probe.
C. The success of the Chang’e 4 mission. D. China’s space program.
( ) 39. What is Chang’e 5 expected to do?
A. Circle around the moon.
B. Land on the surface of the moon.
C. Bring lunar materials back to Earth.
D. Send people to the moon.
( ) 40. What can we infer(推断) from the passage?
A. Chang’e 4 has discovered the secrets of the far side of the moon.
B. China’s space exploration program started 15 years ago.
C. Chang’e 5 will be China’s last lunar exploration program.
D. China has not launched any space probes to Mars so far.

①Plastics have become an unavoidable part of modern life. They are used everywhere for their low cost and convenience. However, this widespread use has led to a global crisis: ocean plastic pollution. What’s more worrying is that most people are unaware of a hidden danger in the oceans—microplastics, which are causing harm to ocean life and even human health.
②Microplastics are tiny plastic pieces. They come from two main sources. Primary microplastics are made for industrial use. These pieces often enter oceans through wastewater. Secondary microplastics form when larger plastic waste breaks down over time due to sunlight and waves. Unlike large plastic pieces, microplastics are so small that they can’t be easily seen with the naked eye, which makes them hard to clean up from the ocean.
③The harm of microplastics to ocean life is serious. Small marine creatures often mistake microplastics for food. Since plastic cannot be digested, these pieces stay in their bodies, causing physical damage. When these small creatures are eaten by larger fish and seabirds, microplastics move up the food chain. At last, they build up in the bodies of top predators, leading to organ damage, even death.
④What’s more, microplastics are not just a danger to ocean life. They are also making their way into the human food chain. Many of the fish which humans eat have microplastics in their bodies. Although scientists are still studying the exact influence of microplastics on human health, early research shows these pieces can enter human organs through digestion (消化). Some microplastics also take in harmful chemicals from the ocean, and when humans eat polluted seafood, these chemicals may enter our bodies and increase the risk of chronic diseases.
⑤Fortunately, actions are being taken around the world to reduce microplastic pollution. Many countries have made laws to stop the production of microplastics in personal care products. Some cities have started strict plastic waste sorting and recycling programs to prevent larger plastics from entering the ocean. Scientists are also developing new technologies, such as biodegradable (可降解的) plastics to clean up microplastics. Individual actions also matter. Reduce the use of single-use plastics. Reuse and recycle plastic products properly.
⑥The ocean is a valuable resource for all living things. Protecting it from microplastics is not just a global task. It is a responsibility that each of us must take on.
( ) 41. What is the main idea of Paragraph 4?
A. What a danger to the human food chain is.
B. Why scientists are doing research on microplastics’ impact on humans.
C. Why humans may get chronic diseases from eating polluted seafood.
D. How microplastics enter the human food chain and harm humans.
( ) 42. Which of the following can be a way to reduce microplastic pollution?
A. Use non-degradable plastics.
B. Stop the production of plastics.
C. Separate different types of plastic waste for proper recycling.
D. Shop with plastic bags, which are only used once and thrown away after use.
( ) 43. Which of the following best shows the structure of the text?
A.①/②/③④/⑤/⑥ B.①/②/③/④/⑤/⑥
C.①/②/③④⑤/⑥ D.①/②/③④/⑤⑥
( ) 44. What is the best title for the passage?
A. Plastic Products: An Important Part of Modern Life
B. Microplastics in the Ocean: A Hidden Global Danger
C. Ocean Life: The Most Important Part of the Ocean Ecosystem
D. Global Actions: The Only Way to Stop Ocean Pollution
( ) 45.What can we learn about microplastics from the passage?
A. They can be easily seen and cleaned in oceans
B. They exist in sea animals and spread via food chains
C. Scientists have confirmed all their harms to human bodies
D. Secondary microplastics are produced directly for industry
Chinese and English are very different. They grew in their own ways, with different writing systems (系统) and pronunciation rules. But here’s a fact: Both are the most widely spoken languages.
Chinese started around 1,000 BC. It has many different forms, and Putonghua is the most widely used one. English started in Britain around 450 AD. It came from mixing local languages, Old German, Latin and other European languages. That’s why English words often sound easy to understand for people who speak other European languages.
Chinese uses characters (汉字). Each character stands for a sound, a word or an idea. Learning to read Chinese needs a good memory. Writing it needs much practice. You have to learn each character’s shape, meaning and pronunciation one by one.
English uses letters. When you put letters together, you get a word. Each letter or a group of letters has its own sound, like “ph” sounds like “f”. Once you learn the pronunciation rules of the words or groups of letters, you can usually read new words correctly.
Tones (声调) also work differently. Chinese has four tones, and each tone changes a character’s meaning. For example, the sound “tang” can mean soup (tāng), sugar (táng), to lie down (tǎng), or very hot (tàng)—all depending on the tone. In English, the tone only shows stress (重音) or the speaker’s feeling.
Learning them is valuable. Besides, it can help us understand different cultures and open up a new world.

For example例如,表示举例;In fact事实上,表示强调事实;After all毕竟,用于引出根本理由;In general总的来说,表示总体情况。 “After all”符合语境。
manage to do sth设法做到某事,是固定用法,故选B。
on purpose故意地,有意地;for certain肯定地,确切地;in time及时,迟早;in fact事实上。根据“I’m so sorry for breaking your glass.” 故选A。
if如果;because因为;when当…… 根据上文“It's not safe.”
为止;since自从;though尽管;whether是否。根据“My little brother is very cute”和“he often leaves his toys everywhere”可知,前后两句存在让步关系,所以此处应该用though引导让步状语从句。
根据答语“First of all, you should avoid looking at the phone screen for a long time.”
宾语从句应用陈述语序,即“引导词+主语+谓语”,选项A和B为疑问语序,故排除;根据答语“We are going to the Beijiang Museum.” 应填where we are going。

46. Why can people who speak other European languages understand English words easily?
