学习目标
· Combining form, meaning and use of imperative sentences, the teaching objectives are set as four points with Bloom's cognitive verbs as the core:
· Recognize & Recall: Identify the three types of imperative and their basic forms memorize the structural rules and usage tips of imperative sentences (e.g., verb 原形 at the beginning, Don’t/Never for negation, polite form with please).
· Understand & Interpret: Comprehend the different meanings and tones of imperative sentences in specific contexts (request, advice, prohibition, order); explain how imperative sentences express communicative intentions in the textbook’s reading passages and song lyrics.
· Practice & Apply: Correctly form affirmative and negative imperative sentences of all three types; flexibly use imperative sentences to complete practical tasks (e.g., write instructions, make club rules, finish posters) and respond to imperative sentences with proper answers.

Real-life Task Scenario
Our school is going to hold a "Fun Life Week" to help everyone relax from study and discover the joy of life. The Student Union is calling on all students to design promotional posters for their favorite fun activities (e.g., playing ball games, watching movies, reading) and make simple activity rules. As members of the grade, students need to finish the poster and rules with imperative sentences to participate in the school’s activity display.
Task 1: Warming-up & Lead-in
Listen to the song Take Me to Your Heart, observe the red-marked sentences, and initially sense the structure of imperative sentences; then read imperative sentences from the previous reading passage (e.g., Imagine staying on an island alone), find more similar sentences in the passage, and summarize the basic feature of imperative sentences (starting with the base form of a verb).
Task 2: Observe & Learn Grammar Rules
Learn the definition and functions of imperative sentences (expressing request, order, advice, etc.); master the three types of imperative sentences (Do-type, Be-type, Let-type) and their affirmative/negative structures respectively; grasp key notes (using please for politeness, adding address terms, using exclamation marks for strong tone) and the response patterns (I/We will for affirmation, I/We won't for negation) of imperative sentences; memorize the mnemonic for imperative sentence rules.
Task 3: Complete Verb-filled Instructions
Fill in the blanks with the correct base form of given verbs and use don’t properly to complete the instructions about having fun; then figure out the main topic of these instructions (how to have fun and enjoy life).
Task 4: Finish the Film Club Poster
Complete the Film Magic Club promotional poster with the given verbs and proper use of don’t; then create more Dos and Don’ts rules for the club using imperative sentences.
Task 5: Write about the Importance of Having Fun
With the help of useful expressions and vocabulary from the reading passage, write down the answers to Why is it important to have fun?, applying imperative sentences appropriately in the writing.
Task 6: Listen & Fill in the Blanks
Listen to the dialogue about the importance of having fun, fill in the missing words, and consolidate the learned expressions about fun while sensing the practical use of simple sentences in communication.
Task 7: Pair Work & Oral Discussion
Work in pairs to talk about the importance of having fun, using the provided useful expressions, vocabulary from the reading passage and as many imperative sentences as possible in the oral communication.
Task 8: Self-evaluation
Make self-assessment on two key points: the ability to use imperative sentences correctly and the ability to talk about the importance of having fun with imperative sentences.
Task 9: Quiz Time (Consolidation)
Finish two parts of the quiz: multiple-choice questions about the basic usage of imperative sentences, and sentence-completion tasks according to Chinese meanings (filling in imperative sentence structures); check answers and correct mistakes to consolidate the grammar knowledge.
Task 10: After-class Tasks (Output & Extension)
