My Favourite Festival — Mid-Autumn Festival
My favourite festival is the Mid-Autumn Festival. It usually comes in September or October. On that day, the moon is round and bright. Families get together to celebrate.
We eat mooncakes. They are round like the moon and have different fillings, such as red bean, egg yolk and nuts. My favourite is the one with egg yolk. We also enjoy a big dinner with fish, chicken and vegetables.
In the evening, we go to the park to watch the moon. We bring chairs and snacks. Children play with lanterns and run around. The lanterns are colourful and beautiful. Some people write wishes on paper and send them up into the sky with sky lanterns.
My grandma tells us stories about the moon. She says there is a beautiful lady named Chang’e living on the moon. I always listen with great interest.
I love this festival because I can be with my family and enjoy the beautiful moon. It makes me feel warm and happy.
