There’s nothing better than an ice-cold drink on a hot day. But when you’re outside, keeping drinks cold is not easy. Wouldn’t it be great if your drink could chill (冷却) itself?
Well, the Cool Can (罐) can do that! James Vyse from the UK created the self-cooling can although he was not a scientist. He used to serve drinks to customers. To create the can, Vyse spent years trying different ways. After more than 500 times, he finally succeeded.
The can starts to work when users press a button under it. The outside of the can gets cold right away, and after a few minutes, the drink inside is ice cold too. This works because of the salts inside the can’s walls. When users press the button, water comes out and reacts (反应) with the salts, making the drink inside cold.
At the press of the button, the can makes a drink from room temperature to ice-cold in two minutes. After cooling, it stays chilled for up to 45 minutes. To let users know that their drink is cold enough, the snowflake (雪花) symbol on the can turns to blue from white.
The can is fully recyclable (可回收利用的) and can be used almost anywhere. Lots of people love this idea! A study of 100 students showed 81% would choose a self-cooling can when they do outdoor activities, and that 73% would be happy to pay more money for a cold drink.
Vyse is already talking to drink makers like Coca-Cola and Red Bull. If all goes well, his cans could be on sale by 2026.
31. Who is James Vyse?
A. A man who once served drinks to people. B. A famous UK scientist.
C. A drink maker from Coca-Cola. D. A student who likes cold drinks.

C. People need to put the can with ice. D. The user tells it to start.
33. After pressing the button, how long does it take for the drink to become ice-cold?
A. Right away. B. About 45 minutes. C. Two minutes. D. A few seconds.
34. How can users know the drink is cold enough?
A. The can becomes blue outside. B. The snowflake symbol turns blue.
C. The button makes a sound. D. The outside of the can gets warm.
35. Which of the following is TRUE according to the passage?
A. The can can keep drinks cold for 20 minutes.
B. Most students wouldn’t pay more for cold drinks.
C. The Cool Can is only useful at home.
D. Vyse tried over 500 times before he succeeded.

Tianzhu Mountain in Anhui is famous for its high cliffs (悬崖) and amazing sights. But keeping this mountain clean is not easy. Tourists throw rubbish on the cliffs. Every day, a group of brave workers pick up the rubbish. They are called the “cliff side cleaners”.
One worker is Tu Yousheng. He started to work here over 20 years ago. Every morning, he uses safety ropes, takes a rubbish bag, and climbs down the cliffs. The wind is strong, and the rocks are huge, but he carefully picks up every piece of rubbish. Sometimes, rubbish gets caught between rocks. He has to work hard to pull it out.
Tu grew up near Tianzhu Mountain. He loves it like his home. “This job is dangerous, but someone has to do it,” he says. Over 20 years, Tu has climbed 2,800 km—as far as from Beijing to Urumqi! His team work in hot summers and cold winters but never stop.
Besides (除了) cleaning, Tu also teaches tourists about taking care of nature. When he sees tourists litter, he kindly asks them to stop and explains why it is important to keep nature clean. Many visitors listen to him and even help clean up.

There are many different AI tools in today’s world. They are powerful and can help people in many ways—Some people even ask them for help when they don’t feel well. A New York Times report shows that more and more people, especially teenagers, are using DeepSeek for mental (心理的) health advice.
Lily is a 13-year-old girl from California. She had problems with her schoolwork and often argued (吵架) with her parents. She decided to talk to DeepSeek. Lily said, “I shared my problems with it. It gave me great ideas, like planning my study time better and communicating (沟通) with my parents softly. I felt much better after talking to DeepSeek.” Jake from New York had problems with his friend. DeepSeek helped him see things from his friend’s side and gave him advice to improve their friendship.
DeepSeek seems to “understand” different feelings. It can comfort users and give useful advice. When a user feels left out at school, DeepSeek says, “You are important. Try joining a club to meet people with the same interests.” Many users like these helpful answers.
However, can DeepSeek really replace (取代) psychologists (心理学家)? Psychologists say no. Dr. Smith, a famous psychologist, explained, “DeepSeek gives good advice, but it doesn’t have the human touch. A real psychologist can understand body language and give a warm smile. These are very important for mental help.” Besides, for serious mental problems, DeepSeek is not helpful enough.
In short, DeepSeek is useful, but it cannot fully replace real psychologists. It’s important to know when to use AI and when to turn to a human for help.
根据短文内容,完成各小题。
56. What two pieces of advice did DeepSeek give Lily?

A. The can becomes blue outside. B. The snowflake symbol turns blue.
C. The button makes a sound. D. The outside of the can gets warm.

①________________________________________________________
②________________________________________________________

【56题详解】
根据第二段Lily的自述“It gave me great ideas, like planning my study time better and communicating with my parents softly.”,其中明确列出了两个具体建议,第一个是“planning my study time better”,表示更好地规划学习时间。第二条建议是“communicating with my parents softly”,即温和地与父母沟通。故答案是原文的直接信息。
