Unit5 Culture shapes us!
❌ Although he is busy, but he is polite. ✅ Although he is busy, he is polite. ✅ He is busy, but he is polite.
✅ Although different cultures have manners, they are not the same.
*though 书面、口语都可用;
He is modest. He is very famous, though.
绝大多数场景下,句首使用时 although = though,可以互换。
Although the dish is spicy, I like it.
I enjoy the food though it is spicy.
Though table manners are different in countries, respect is important everywhere.
Although he was a guest, he followed local customs.
Though you travel abroad, you should learn local culture.
1.though /although(让步:虽然)和but(并列连词:但是)
2.though VS however
however 是副词,需要用分号/句号隔开;
❌Although he is young. However, he knows many table manners.(错误)
✅ Although he is young, he knows many table manners.
✅ He is young; however, he knows many table manners.
