设问方式以when,in which year,how many/much等疑问词(组)开头引出问题。

例2 (2025全国I卷)The greening of planes, trains and automobiles
Moving goods and people around the world is responsible for a large part of global CO2 emissions (排放). As the world races to decarbonize everything, it faces particular problems with transportation — which accounts for about a quarter of our energy-related greenhouse gas emissions. Here’s the breakdown of the emissions in 2018 for different modes of transport.
The fuels for transport need to be not just green, cheap and powerful, but also lightweight and safe enough to be carried around. Each mode of transport has its specific fuel needs. Much is still to be settled, but here are some of the solutions to get us going green.
PLANES — Synthetic hydrocarbons
The hardest sector to decarbonize is aviation. One long-term option for sustainable fuel for planes is to make hydrocarbons from recycled air.
CARS — Batteries
Batteries are energy-efficient and electric cars can plug into existing systems and services. New solid-state batteries will take a car farther on a single charge.
TRAINS — Electricity
Some trains are already electrified through rails or wires; others can be made electric in pretty simple ways.
TRUCKS — Hydrogen
fuel cells
Hydrogen fuel cells are a lighter choice than batteries for trucks, but making green hydrogen is expensive.
SHIPS — Liquid ammonia
Liquid ammonia is easy to keep and transport, but it is hard to ignite (点燃) and requires an engine redesign.
This energy transition (变革) is global, and the amount of renewable energy the world will need is “a little bit mind-blowing,” says mechanical engineer Keith Wipke at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. It’s estimated that the global demand for electricity could more than double by 2050. Fortunately, analyses suggest that renewables are up to the task. “We need to speed up the development of green energy, and it will all get used,” says Wipke.
1. What percentage of global transport emissions did road vehicles account for in 2018?
A. 11.6%. B. 45.1%. C. 74.5%. D. 86.1%.

例2(2021年天津卷第二次)When starting college, most students enjoy a week's stay on campus before classes actually begin. What should you do with that time? Below are several tips to ease(使熟悉) yourself into college life.
Participating in Campus Welcome Activities
Most universities host welcome events before the academic year officially begins, including freshmen orientations (迎新会),campus picnics, and entertainments like concerts.
Participating in such events is a great way to learn about school facilities and understand campus culture: What do students do for fiin? What are their favorite classes? What is the history of your university? It can help you observe campus life outside the classroom.
Exploring Campus
Getting to know where essential campus resources are—such as the student advising center, psychological services, and the tutoring center~~will make your first few weeks on campus a lot easier, because you won't have to look for them while still getting used to your classes.
Take some time to check out the buildings where your classes will be held. This will prevent you from getting lost in the first few days of classes, and familiarize you with how long it takes to get from place to place. If you're worried about taking classes one after another in different buildings, a quick test run won't hurt. That way, you will avoid potential time delays in getting to your classes.
Starting a Routine
Before getting too excited about all of the fun things you will be able to do during the week, remember that you do have a pretty big schedule change coming up. Starting classes means being in different places at different times, so it’s a great idea to start getting used to that routine right this week.
What helps you most is to schedule your sleep. Following the planned time will ensure you have enough sleep to get to those early classes and stay wide awake.
If you have other daily routines, such as exercising or talking on the phone with family, work those into your day-to-day life before classes start so that you get a better idea of how they fit in with your schedule.
40. What is the author's purpose in writing this passage?
A. To offer some tips on making an easier start at college.
B. To remind freshmen about the first day of school.
C. To help freshmen organize campus activities.
D. To share his college experience with the reader.

In spite of the court hearing testimonials (证明) of her ability as a doctor, she was banned from medicine.
James Barry (c.1789 — 1865) was born Margaret Bulkley in Ireland but, dressed as a man, she was accepted by Edinburgh University to study medicine. She qualified as a surgeon in 1813, then joined the British Army, serving overseas. Barry retired in 1859, having practiced her entire medical profession living and working as a man.
Tan Yunxian (1461 — 1554) was a Chinese physician who learned her skills from her grandparents. Chinese women at the time could not serve apprenticeships (学徒期) with doctors. However, Tan passed the official exam. Tan treated women from all walks of life. In 1511, Tan wrote a book, Sayings of a Female Doctor, describing her life as a physician.
Rebecca Lee Crumpler (1831 — 1895) worked as a nurse for eight years before studying in medical college in Boston in 1860. Four years later, she was the first African American woman to receive a medical degree. She moved to Virginia in 1865, where she provided medical care to freed slaves.
1. What did Jacqueline and James have in common?
A. Doing teaching jobs. B. Being hired as physicians.
C. Performing surgery. D. Being banned from medicine.

Skiddaw in Winter
Cumbria, England
It was an extremely cold winter's evening and freezing fog hung in the air. I climbed to the top of a small rise and realised that the mist was little more than a few feet deep, and though it was only a short climb, I found myself completely above it and looking at a wonderfully clear view of Skiddaw with the sum setting in the west. I used classical techniques, translated from my college days spent in the darkroom into Photoshop, to achieve the black—and—white image(图像).

I was back in my home town of Macclesfield to take some winter images. Walking up a path through the forest towards Shutlingsloe. a local high point, I came across a small clearing and immediately noticed the dead yellow grasses set against the fresh snow. The small pine added to the interest and I placed it centrally to take the view from the foreground right through into the forest.
2. What do the works by Shepherd and Smith have in common?
A. They are winter images.
B. They are in black and white.

Sichuan, a province celebrated for its diverse landscapes and profound cultural roots, offers more than just its iconic landmarks. Beyond the bustling tourist trails lie lesser-known treasures that cater to adventurers, history buffs, and nature enthusiasts alike. These hidden gems, with their unique charm and authentic experiences, promise unforgettable journeys. Here are three such destinations waiting to be explored:
Daocheng Yading
Nestled in the Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, this remote plateau scenic area is called “the last pure land on Earth.” Its snow-capped peaks (including the 6,032-meter Mt. Chenrezig), turquoise lakes, and alpine meadows draw adventurers. Note that altitude sickness is common — visitors are advised to rest for a day in Daocheng County before heading up. The best months are May to June (wildflowers) and September to October (golden forests). Entrance: ¥146 (peak season), ¥120 (off-season). Open 7:00 a.m. — 5:30 p.m.
Leshan Giant Buddha
Carved into a cliff along the Min River, this 71-meter-tall statue is the world’s largest stone Buddha, built over 90 years during the Tang Dynasty. Unlike mountain hikes, it’s accessible via riverside paths and boat tours (¥70 extra). Avoid summer crowds — spring (March — April) or autumn (October — November) is better. Tickets: ¥80 (adults), free for kids under 1.2m. Opens 8:00 a.m. — 6:30 p.m. (April — October); 8:30 a.m. — 5:30 p.m. (November — March).
Langzhong Ancient Town
One of China’s four best-preserved ancient towns, Langzhong in Nanchong dates back 2,300 years. Its well-preserved city walls, traditional courtyards, and annual Spring Festival lantern shows (featuring 10,000+ lanterns) attract culture lovers. Unlike natural sites, it’s enjoyable year-round, though winter can be chilly. A combined ticket for key attractions (Zhang Fei Temple, Ancient Well Museum) costs ¥110. Most sites open 8:30 a.m. — 5:00 p.m., but night tours of the lantern-lit streets run until 10:00 p.m.
3.What makes Langzhong Ancient Town different from the other two attractions?
A.It has historical buildings. B.It requires a combined ticket.
C.It’s suitable for year-round visits. D.It features natural scenery.

例1(2022年天津卷第二次)Getting into college is a big step for high school graduates, and it comes with a lot of changes. For most students, it’s the first time they’re living away from home and managing their own life. Not surprisingly, adapting to this new lifestyle can be challenging. The following four tips will make high school graduates better prepared for college life.
Goal setting
When setting goals, whether they’re academic, career, or personal, re-member they should be attainable but not too easy, so that you really have to push yourself to achieve them, and feel rewarded when you do. Writing down your goals and breaking down each huge, long-term goal into smaller more practical ones can help make it feel more real, and writing out a plan for achieving it can give you a roadmap to success.
Interpersonal skills
At college, you will interact with fellow students, professors, librarians, and many others. Strong interpersonal skills will help you build relationships during this time, and get more out of them. If you feel that your interpersonal skills need some work, practice asking thoughtful questions and listening closely, develop your understanding by putting yourself in someone else’s shoes, and enhance your self-confidence.
Studying
With fewer in-class hours and more on-your-own learning, you’re required to really digest learning material rather than simply memorize facts. To be successful in college you’ll need to learn how to integrate large amounts of information obtained through reading, do research, and write papers. Organization is the key, so if you are not someone who is naturally organized, set up your study schedule.
Budgeting
Managing money is a critical life skill, and for many, it is at college that they develop it for the first time. Start by estimating your financial balance. Then give high priority to the expenses on basic needs and determine how much money to set aside every month to cover those costs. Don’t forget about savings…and the fun stuff(movies, dinners out), too.
36. Who is this passage most probably written for?
A. College teachers.

The greening of planes, trains and automobiles
A. 11.6%. B. 45.1%. C. 74.5%. D. 86.1%.
2. Which mode of transport can go green comparatively easily?
A. Planes. B. Trucks. C. Trains. D. Ships.
3. What does Wipke suggest regarding energy transition?
A. Limiting fuel consumption. B. Putting more effort into renewables.
C. Improving energy efficiency. D. Making electricity more affordable.

Leading digital learning platforms Libby and Kanopy conducted a comprehensive 2025 survey of 3,500 undergraduate students across 50 universities in the United States and Canada. The survey, completed in January 2026, set out to identify the dominant learning styles of today’s undergraduates, measure student demand for different types of multimodal (多模态) course materials, and explore the link between multimodal learning and academic performance and engagement.
Learning Style Preference
This shift in learning styles has directly translated into a growing demand for course materials, as students seek out content that not only conveys information but also engages them in ways that match how they best process and internalize knowledge.
The following data quantifies student demand for different types of multimodal course materials accordingly.
Demand for Multimodal Course Materials
The survey also uncovered a clear link between the use of multimodal learning materials and key educational outcomes, including academic performance and classroom engagement. “This survey confirms that undergraduate learning has entered a new multimodal era — students no longer want to be passive consumers of text-based content. Educators and institutions that adapt to this shift by providing diverse, visual and interactive materials will see significant improvements in student success and engagement, and will better prepare students for the diverse, digital world they will enter upon graduation,” said Overdrive CEO Steve Potash.
1.What percentage do visual and kinesthetic learners account for in 2025?
A.40%. B.49%.
C.51%. D.73%.
2.Which multimodal course materials do undergraduate students like most?
A.Audio podcasts. B.Video lectures.
C.Interactive infographics. D.Traditional print textbooks.
3.What does Steve think of the shift of learning style preference?
A.It is worthy to be accepted.
B.It relies on text-based materials.
C.It is a short-lived tendency.
D.It lowers classroom engagement.

In today’s global trade, product safety is extremely important. Therefore, labels on products help consumers make informed choices.
The primary function of these marks is to ensure the safety of users and property. For instance, electrical equipment sold in the European Union must carry the “CE” mark. This sign proves that the product meets all relevant EU standards. Unlike an official approval, it is based on the company’s own evaluation. In contrast, the Chinese “CCC” mark requires testing by an official organization, and a certificate must be obtained. Products without the “CCC” mark cannot be sold in China.
Other marks are also important. The French “FR” sign instructs consumers to separate packaging for recycling. The “RoHS” mark shows a product limits harmful materials under EU rules, but as it is merely one part of the CE standard, it does not ensure full compliance (遵守) . Codes like “SKC/SKU” are simply used by companies to manage their product storage. Most importantly, products must have clear safety warnings on their labels, or they will be banned from the market.
Below is a product label:
▲WARNING To avoid danger of choke, keep this plastic bag away from babies and children.
Do not use it in beds, carriages or playpens.
▲WARNING This product contains a button cell or coin battery.
A swallowed button cell or coin battery can cause Internal Chemical Burns.
Battery liquid is poisonous and can cause dizziness and other serious symptoms.
1.Which mark is required for a camera to be sold in Europe?
A.FR. B.SKC. C.RoHS. D.CE.
2.Which risk is least likely to occur for this product?
A.Burns. B.Poisoning. C.Cuts. D.Choking.
3.What can be learned about this product according to the label?
A.It restricts certain harmful substances. B.It can be opened by children alone.
C.Its packaging cannot be recycled. D.It is allowed to be sold in China.

Parcel lockers, also called smart lockers or package lockers, are secure, automated storage units in centralized locations. They are revolutionizing how goods can be delivered and received. People can pick up a package from a locker at a time that suits them, in a convenient location near their residence or workplace.
Yet for all their advantages, parcel lockers are still far from being widely adopted by online shoppers. Many consumers still opt to have their online shopping parcels delivered directly to their homes instead of using parcel lockers, simply because they don’t know this delivery option when placing online orders and thus have never tried it.
Even though locker usage is still low, companies and government agencies hope more shoppers will try it as they learn about the benefits. Using parcel lockers can help reduce traffic from delivery vehicles and lower our carbon footprint, which is better for the Earth. So, why not give easyLocker a try?

English Market Towns to Visit in the UK
English market towns come in many shapes and sizes. Each has a personality shaped by the goods and services produced and traded for centuries. But each town has more to do than shop.
Hereford, Herefordshire
Hereford has remained a lively market town since 1189. Skirting the town square, you’ll find lovely shops, eateries, and the Black and White House Museum. The Hereford Cathedral is the most impressive building in town. It’s also home to an ancient library. One of the four original copies of the Magna Carta is displayed there.
Ludlow, Shropshire
Ludlow is known as the Foodie Center of England. Butcher shops, greengrocers, bakeries, and cheese shops line the town square. Bordering the square, the Ludlow Castle is a “must explore” medieval stronghold. The three-day Ludlow Food Festival is held each September.
Shrewsbury, Shropshire
Getting to Shrewsbury Town Center from London is challenging but worth the anxiety. The River Severn has a significant turn through town, almost making an island of Shrewsbury Town Center. The shape creates a perfect market where goods could be shipped and received using the river as a highway. Flowers are everywhere-hanging baskets, window boxes, and planters-just what you imagine in an attractive English market town.
Mevagissey, Cornwall
Even if you haven’t been to the small fishing village Mevagissey, you’ve probably seen it in a movie or British TV show. The working harbor(港口) took shape in 1774. Fishermen go out to sea daily and sell their fish in harbor-side markets. Don’t leave the harbor without a traditional Comish pie. It’s delicious.

A. In the Ludlow Castle. B. In the Foodie Center of England.

A. 11.6%. B. 45.1%. C. 74.5%. D. 86.1%.
●题干关键词→road vehicles→account for

PRACTITIONERS
Jacqueline Felice de Almania (c.1322) highlights the suspicion that women practicing medicine faced. Born to a Jewish family in Florence, she moved to Paris where she worked as a physician and performed surgery. In 1322 she was tried for practicing unlawfully.

Mike Shepherd(2011)
Skiddaw in Winter
Cumbria, England
It was an extremely cold winter's evening and freezing fog hung in the air. I climbed to the top of a small rise and realised that the mist was little more than a few feet deep, and though it was only a short climb, I found myself completely above it and looking at a wonderfully clear view of Skiddaw with the sum setting in the west. I used classical techniques, translated from my college days spent in the darkroom into Photoshop, to achieve the black—and—white image(图像).

Macclesfield Forest
Cheshire, England
I was back in my home town of Macclesfield to take some winter images. Walking up a path through the forest towards Shutlingsloe. a local high point, I came across a small clearing and immediately noticed the dead yellow grasses set against the fresh snow. The small pine added to the interest and I placed it centrally to take the view from the foreground right through into the forest.

The greening of planes, trains and automobiles
A. 11.6%. B. 45.1%. C. 74.5%. D. 86.1%.
2. Which mode of transport can go green comparatively easily?
A. Planes. B. Trucks. C. Trains. D. Ships.
3. What does Wipke suggest regarding energy transition?
A. Limiting fuel consumption. B. Putting more effort into renewables.
C. Improving energy efficiency. D. Making electricity more affordable.
根据图表信息TRAINS — Electricity部分中“Some trains are already electrified through rails or wires; others can be made electric in pretty simple ways. (一些列车已经通过轨道或电线实现了电气化;其他火车可以通过非常简单的方式实现电动化)”可知,火车相较其他交通方式更易实现绿色化。故选C项。
3. B细节理解题。根据最后一段中““We need to speed up the development of green energy and it will all get used,” says Wipke. (Wipke说:“我们需要加速绿色能源的开发,而且这些能源都会被利用起来。”)”可知,Wipke建议加大对可再生能源的投入,即加大对绿色能源的投入。故选B项。
例2(2026·山东菏泽市一模)

【答案】1.D 2.C 3.A
