It isn't just the beauty of natural wonders like the Grand Canyon in America, the Great Wall in China and the Angel Falls in Venezuela that can take your breath away. You can find awe (敬畏) in everyday things. A new study, published in the journal Emotion, found that people who took “awe walks” felt more positive emotions (情绪) in their daily life.
In the study, 52 volunteers were divided into two groups. They were told to take at least one 15-minute walk every day for eight weeks. Volunteers in the “awe group” were told how to inspire awe as they walked. “We asked them to try to see the world with a fresh eye—to notice new details of a leaf or flower,” Sturm says. However, people in the other group were less focused on the world around them.
In addition, volunteers were asked to take selfies (自拍) in the beginning, middle, and end of each walk. Researchers found that volunteers taking awe walks filled less of their photographs with their own images and more with the background scenery. “When we feel awe, our attention is moved from focusing on ourselves to focusing on the world around us,” Sturm says. “Awe influences our social relationships because it helps us to feel more connected with the world, nature, and other people.” Their smiles also grew broader by the end of the study. “We examined the degrees of their smiles in the selfies, and we found that volunteers who took awe walks showed greater smiles over time than those who took control walks. The former reported greater positive emotions in general, including more joy and gratitude.”
Volunteers in the control group took more walks than those in the awe group, the researchers discovered. But walking more didn't result in positive changes in emotional fitness or in the way their selfies were taken. This suggests that the results came mainly from experiencing awe rather than just spending time exercising.
1.Why are some wonderful places mentioned in paragraph 1?
A.To introduce the topic. B.To make a comparison.
C.To support the main idea. D.To present the natural beauty.
2.What were volunteers in the “awe group” required to do in paragraph 2?
A.Take a regular walk every week. B.Breathe fresh air in nature.
C.Explore with childlike curiosity. D.Collect leaves after the rain.
3.Which photo is most probably taken by a volunteer in the “awe group”?
4.What plays a key role in lifting volunteers' spirits according to the last paragraph?
A.The length of the workout. B.The skill in photography.
C.The experience of awe. D.The interest in taking exercise.

With schoolwork and after-school tasks filling your time, exercise is easy to skip. But staying active, positive and fit is good for your body, makes you feel happy and helps you focus better on study. Here are simple ways to add more movement to your days.
1 Walk or bike to school, rather than taking the bus or getting a ride from a parent. This adds easy exercise without taking up extra time. You can also get off the bus one stop early and walk the rest—soon it'll become a usual thing.
Many schools have sports teams for soccer, badminton, basketball, track, etc. Joining them lets you stay active and make friends. Join a sports team or try a non-competitive club. For example, yoga clubs help you move more easily, dance clubs make your heart beat faster, and hiking clubs let you enjoy nature while moving. 2
Screen time takes up much of teens' life—browsing web pages, playing games or watching videos. 3 Even 15 minutes of activity, like doing jumping jacks or playing catch with family, is better than sitting. You can also follow a short online exercise video to use screens in an active way.
Planning active trips with friends helps too. 4 Laughing and talking make exercise feel like fun, not work. Try rollerblading, going jogging, playing basketball in the park, gym or stadium or walking in the mall together.
Don't change too much all at once—it will make you tired out and full of stress. Start with small things: walk to school once a week or do 10-minute exercise. Add more as you get used to these habits. 5 The most important thing is to make exercise something you look forward to, not a boring task.
A.Exercising with friends makes it more fun.
B.Walk or bike to school for daily movement.
C.Turn screen time into time for physical activity.
D.Eat healthy food to support your active lifestyle.
E.These are just as good for exercise but more relaxing.
F.Start small with easy daily changes to build a lasting active habit.
G.Study hard to keep a good balance between schoolwork and daily exercise.

根据后面的some...some...and some...
6.competitors;with/against;competitive;for 考查compete的变形和用法。 根据Many可知第一空填复数名词,表示“参赛者”,故填competitors;compete with/against... 竞争”,所以第二空填with或against;第三空修饰game,表示“竞争性的”,应填形容词competitive;compete for...
7.into;to have done 考查cheat和pretend的用法。 cheat sb. into doing sth.意为“欺骗某人做某事”,故第一空填介词into;第二空表示“假装已经做了某事”,应用pretend to have done...,故填to have done。

根据第二段中“We asked them to try to see the world with a fresh eye—to notice new details of a leaf or flower”可知,“敬畏组”志愿者被要求用全新的视角看待世界,留意叶子、花等事物的新细节,结合选项可知,C项“以孩童般的好奇心进行探索”能够概括“敬畏组”被要求做的事情。
根据第三段中“Researchers found that volunteers taking awe walks filled less of their photographs with their own images and more with the background scenery.”
