Travel. B 2. C 3. 根据Tip 2中“Rather than folding your clothes, try rolling them up to save more space in your suitcase. 根据Tip 3中“Email yourself a scanned copy of your passport. If your passport is lost, it can keep you calm and help you just in time! B I suppose everyone has something they don’t like about themselves. For me, it was the bright red birthmark (胎记) on my face, the color of a strawberry. Sometimes, I felt people secretly looking at my face. But when I turned my head, they quickly looked away. On crowded buses and trains, it felt like a total disaster (灾难). With so many people around, my birthmark seemed to burn even redder. So I always kept my hair long to cover it until that day. It was a cloudy morning. A new student named Betty joined our class and sat right next to me. Instead of looking away, she studied my face carefully. This made me so nervous that clouds seemed to fill my heart. Suddenly, she said something I would never forget. “Sally, right?” she smiled. “You have a red rose on your face. How beautiful!” I looked up and met her smiling eyes. Although I only replied “thank you,” my heart suddenly felt sunny. When I got home, I rushed to the bathroom and looked in the mirror. For the first time, I could look at my birthmark — without quickly turning away. Its shape really did look like a flower. The next day, to my surprise, Betty painted a red rose on her own face! I haven’t told Betty the whole story yet. But she has changed me forever. I’ve learned to accept myself as I am. Everyone has something special and different — and that’s what makes life interesting. 4. What did the writer usually do to cover her birthmark? A. She wore a hat. B. She grew long hair. C. She stayed at home all day. D. She used makeup to hide it. 5. How did the writer feel when Betty stared at her face closely? A. Excited. B. Angry. C. Calm. D. Anxious. 6. How did Betty describe the birthmark on the writer’s face? A. It looked like a red rose. B. It was a fresh strawberry. C. It brought the girl much trouble. D. It was an embarrassing mark. 7. What lesson did the writer learn from Betty? A. Everyone should look the same. B. Birthmarks can make our life interesting. C. We should accept ourselves for who we truly are. D. We’d better hide our differences to live a better life. B 5. D 6. A 7. 根据第二段最后一句“So I always kept my hair long to cover it until that day.(所以我一直留着长发遮住它,直到那天)”可知,作者通常留长发遮盖胎记。 根据第三段“Instead of looking away, she studied my face carefully. This made me so nervous that clouds seemed to fill my heart.(她没有移开目光,而是仔细端详我的脸。 根据第四段“You have a red rose on your face. How beautiful!(你的脸上有一朵红玫瑰,多美啊!)” 根据最后一段“I’ve learned to accept myself as I am. Everyone has something special and different — and that’s what makes life interesting.(我学会了接纳真实的自己。 C ① You can put a stamp on it, you can write an address on it, and you can send it through the mail. No, it’s not a package (包裹). It’s the amazing coconut (椰子). The coconut is different from most other fruits because every part of it is useful. People have been using coconuts in many different ways. Here are some of them. ② One exciting use of the coconut is as a kind of energy. Scientists are working on using coconuts for energy because they are cheap and clean. Coconut oil has already been made into fuel (燃料). It can propel cars, trucks, ships and many more. ③ Students at Baylor University find that coconut husks (外壳) can take in water very well. So mixing coconut husks with dry soil (土壤) helps the soil to hold more water. The students also find that coconut husks can take the place of plastic in some cases. If this is possible, it will help people use less plastic. ④ The husk of the coconut is a perfect package. It protects the coconut from harm. That’s why some countries allow people to send the coconut without any packaging. Each year, tourists post about 3,000 of these “coconut postcards”. ⑤ Coconuts grow naturally in over 80 countries of the world. They require only the sun and proper rain. No special care is needed. Every year, more than 61 million tons of coconuts are produced. It is not surprising, then, that people want to find so many uses for the coconut. 8. What makes the coconut different from common fruits? A. People can put stamps on it for fun. B. People can write addresses directly on it. C. Every part of it can be made good use of. D. It is often used as a common mail package. 9. What does the underlined word “propel” in Paragraph 2 mean? A. Provide energy for. B. Add value to. C. Make room for. D. Put weight on. 10. What do we know about coconut husks according to the passage? A. They can be made into clean energy fuel. B. They can take the place of all plastic products. C. They are used mainly to make coconut postcards. D. They help soil store water and replace some plastic. 11. What would be the best structure of the passage? A. ①②③/④⑤ B. ①/②③④/⑤ C. ①②/③/④⑤ D. ①/②③/④⑤ 【答案】8. C 9. A 10. D 11. 根据文章第一段“The coconut is different from most other fruits because every part of it is useful. 根据文章第二段“Coconut oil has already been made into fuel (燃料). It can propel cars, trucks, ships and many more. 根据文章第三段“So mixing coconut husks with dry soil (土壤) helps the soil to hold more water. 以及“The students also find that coconut husks can take the place of plastic in some cases. 根据文章第一段中的句子“People have been using coconuts in many different ways. Here are some of them. 可知,第一段是总起(引言);根据文章第二段中的句子“One exciting use of the coconut is as a kind of energy. 、第三段中的句子“Students at Baylor University find that coconut husks (外壳) can take in water very well. 以及第四段中的句子“The husk of the coconut is a perfect package. 可知,第二、三、四段是并列关系,分别介绍了椰子的三种具体用途;根据文章第五段中的句子“It is not surprising, then, that people want to find so many uses for the coconut. D Ding-dong! Who is at the door? It’s a fish! In the Netherlands, wild fish usually migrate (迁徙) in spring. They leave their usual living places and go to other areas to produce eggs. In this season, government officers in Utrecht use the Fish Doorbell to help fish go through the canal (运河). Utrecht is a city in the Netherlands. In this country, people ferry things between cities through canals. There are gates on the canals, and they act like locks. They make sure each canal has the same water level so that ships can pass across the canals easily. The gates are helpful to humans. However, they can be a problem for fish. As fish reach a closed gate, they can’t go through it and will be in danger. Birds or other big fish may eat them. To help the fish swim through the gate in Utrecht safely, local officers came up with an idea — they developed the Fish Doorbell. The Fish Doorbell is in fact a website. It shows an underwater live stream (直播). By placing a camera at the gate, people can see if there are fish nearby and help them ring the Fish Doorbell. Then the officers will open the gate and the fish can swim through the canal safely. The Fish Doorbell is set in Utrecht, but people from all over the world can watch the live stream and ring the doorbell. Last year, 2.7 million people around the world visited the website and rang the doorbell to help the fish migrate. Isn’t it amazing? Why don’t you have a go? 12. When do government officers in Utrecht use the Fish Doorbell? A. From March to May. B. From June to August. C. From September to November. D. From December to February. 13. What is the fourth paragraph mainly about? A. Functions of canal gates. B. Steps to use the Fish Doorbell. C. Problems caused by the Fish Doorbell. D. Reasons for inventing the Fish Doorbell. 14. What do we know about the Fish Doorbell? A. Fish can use it by themselves. B. Plenty of countries started to use it last year. C. Only local officers can watch its live stream. D. A number of people around the world used it last year. 15. What is the purpose of the text? A. To ask people to feed fish online. B. To teach people how to study fish in a new way. C. To introduce a creative way to help fish migrate. D. To tell people the importance of keeping canals clean. A 13. D 14. D 15. 根据第二段“In the Netherlands, wild fish usually migrate (迁徙) in spring. They leave their usual living places and go to other areas to produce eggs. In this season, government officers in Utrecht use the Fish Doorbell to help fish go through the canal 根据第四段“The gates are helpful to humans. However, they can be a problem for fish... To help the fish swim through the gate in Utrecht safely, local officers came up with an idea — they developed the Fish Doorbell.(水闸对人类很有帮助。 根据第五段“Last year, 2.7 million people around the world visited the website and rang the doorbell to help the fish migrate.(去年,全球有270万人访问该网站,按下门铃帮助鱼类迁徙)”可知,去年全球有大量用户使用过鱼门铃。 E A face-to-face meeting with Emperor Qinshihuang, once only a thought, is now within reach. In Central China’s Hunan Province, AI is making this kind of “meeting” possible — it’s making old things, places and even people from Qin Dynasty (221-206 BC) come alive. This fun project is from teamwork between a Changsha company and archaeologists The team uses AI to collect information from old papers and things dug up. Also, they put them in order. The company’s manager, Zhang Gangyi, showed how useful the technology is. He made a picture of Hua, an officer from the Qin Dynasty. Hua’s story and many facts of life in Qin times were written on about 38,000 bamboo slips (竹简). People found these slips in 2002. They are very useful — they filled an empty part in history and told us 15-year life in an old Qin town. Now, the AI-made Hua is a guide at Liye Ancient Town Archaeological Site Park. The park opened again in October after being fixed. It has a new smart guiding system made by Zhang’s team. They turned the old words on the bamboo slips into fun videos. Visitors can scan QR codes (二维码) at the park to watch these videos. Then they can feel what life was like 2,000 years ago. All pictures, clothes and things in the videos are based on real historical finds. For example, Hua’s clothes got ideas from Emperor Qinshihuang’s tomb in Shaanxi. The team had to read many reports to get small facts right. This was a big challenge for them. Zhang loves Chinese history very much. He said technology helps people learn about the past better. “History is not just in museum boxes — people can feel it and talk with it,” he said. He thinks “culture + technology” will make traditional culture easier for everyone to enjoy. For example, visitors could wear VR (虚拟现实) glasses to see Qin Dynasty buildings on screen. He also said our own technology is important. We can’t use foreign technologies for our cultural projects. 16. What makes the “face-to-face meeting with Emperor Qinshihuang” possible? A. The old papers and things dug up. B. The hard work of archaeologists alone. C. AI technology used in the project. D. Bamboo slips found in Henan Province. 17. What do we know about the bamboo slips discovered in 2002? A. Archaeologists found them in a park in Changsha. B. They recorded Hua’s story and people’s life in Qin times. C. The AI team made all the pictures on these bamboo slips. D. They offered complete records of all emperors in Qin Dynasty. 18. How can visitors experience Qin life at the park? A. By scanning QR codes to watch videos. B. By talking with archaeologists in person. C. By reading ancient bamboo slips directly. D. By wearing beautiful Qin Dynasty clothes. 19. What can we learn from the passage? A. The bamboo slips found in 2002 told us everything about Qin life. B. The facts showed in the videos come from real historical discoveries. C. The AI-made Hua has become a popular guide in many ancient parks. D. Zhang Gangyi thinks foreign technology is helpful for cultural projects. 20. Which of the following is the best title for the passage? A. AI and Qin History: Making the Past Come Alive B. AI and VR Glasses: Seeing Qin Dynasty Buildings C. AI and Smart Park: Experiencing Qin Dynasty Life D. AI and Bamboo Slips: Telling Qin Dynasty History 【答案】16. C 17. B 18. A 19. B 20. 根据第一段中“A face-to-face meeting with Emperor Qinshihuang, once only a thought, is now within reach. In Central China’s Hunan Province, AI is making this kind of “meeting” possible — it’s making old things, places and even people from Qin Dynasty (221-206 BC) come alive. 根据第二段中“Hua’s story and many facts of life in Qin times were written on about 38,000 bamboo slips (竹简). People found these slips in 2002. 根据第三段中“Visitors can scan QR codes (二维码) at the park to watch these videos. Then they can feel what life was like 2,000 years ago. 根据第四段中“All pictures, clothes and things in the videos are based on real historical finds. 通读全文,结合第一段中“In Central China’s Hunan Province, AI is making this kind of “meeting” possible — it’s making old things, places and even people from Qin Dynasty (221-206 BC) come alive. 和最后一段中“He thinks “culture + technology” will make traditional culture easier for everyone to enjoy. 故A项“AI and Qin History: Making the Past Come Alive (AI与秦朝历史:让过去活起来)”能概括文章内容,最适合做文章标题。 Have you ever looked closely at the paper money from different countries? ____21____ You will discover pictures of rivers, mountains, buildings and famous people. These pictures often show what each country finds important. They are like small lessons in culture, history and nature. Paper money isn’t just for spending — it’s also for learning. Let’s start with China. ____22____ On the 20-yuan note (纸币), there is the Lijiang River in Guilin, with green mountains rising from calm waters. ____23____ On the 5-yuan note, you’ll find Mount Tai, one of the most famous mountains in China. A large number of poems were written in praise of it. ____24____ Switzerland’s (瑞士) notes include mountains, rivers, and even wind patterns! Canada’s have snowy landscapes and maple (枫树) leaves. These days, many people use phones or cards as a way to pay. It’s fast and easy. But paper money still has its value — not only in money, but in meaning. You can hold it, look at it, and learn from it. ____25____ So next time you hold your paper money, take a second look. A. It can be a tiny museum in your pocket. B. Ancient art appeared on early banknotes. C. You will see more than numbers and colors. D. Other countries also do this in their own way. E. Every country uses the same style to design its cash. F. It’s so beautiful that artists have painted it for centuries. G. The Chinese yuan is a perfect mix of nature and tradition. C 22. G 23. F 24. D 25. 【21题详解】 根据空前一句“Have you ever looked closely at the paper money from different countries? 以及空后一句“You will discover pictures of rivers, mountains, buildings and famous people. C“You will see more than numbers and colors. 【22题详解】 根据空前“Let’s start with China. ”以及空后“On the 20-yuan note (纸币), there is the Lijiang River in Guilin, with green mountains rising from calm waters.(在20元纸币上,有桂林漓江,青山从平静的水面升起。)”和“On the 5-yuan note, you’ll find Mount Tai, one of the most famous mountains in China. A large number of poems were written in praise of it.(在五元纸币上,可以看到中国最著名的山之一——泰山。 G“The Chinese yuan is a perfect mix of nature and tradition. 【23题详解】 空前提到“On the 20-yuan note, there is the Lijiang River in Guilin, with green mountains rising from calm waters. 空后“On the 5-yuan note, you’ll find Mount Tai, one of the most famous mountains in China. A large number of poems were written in praise of it.(在五元纸币上,可以看到中国最著名的山之一——泰山。 F“It’s so beautiful that artists have painted it for centuries. 【24题详解】 上一段讲述中国纸币,空后“Switzerland’s (瑞士) notes include mountains, rivers, and even wind patterns! Canada’s have snowy landscapes and maple D“Other countries also do this in their own way. 【25题详解】 空前提到“You can hold it, look at it, and learn from it. 下一段提到“So next time you hold your paper money, take a second look. A“It can be a tiny museum in your pocket. Qiu Yueqi, born in 2000, is a PhD student at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. 12. A number of people around the world used it last year. 15. What is the purpose of the text? A. To ask people to feed fish online. B. To teach people how to study fish in a new way. C. To introduce a creative way to help fish migrate. D. To tell people the importance of keeping canals clean. E A face-to-face meeting with Emperor Qinshihuang, once only a thought, is now within reach.
