They positively impact both teenagers and adults. Those who keep on taking exercises regularly will keep fit and live a happy life. My favourite is playing basketball. I’ve been playing it since eight. After school I usually spend an hour on it, which not only builds up my body but makes me refreshed. The qualities, values as well as the hardships encountered on the court have helped me grow. As I practiced, my skills improved. I found myself more confident and that I was able to reach my goals if I worked hard enough to overcome difficulties on my subjects, and this also reflected in other areas of my life. Let’s do sports together and enjoy a healthy life! Thanks for your listening. 第二节 (满分25分) The final exam was incredibly intense. The moment I sat down, my mind suddenly went blank and I felt a wave of panic. As I worked through the questions, I kept reminding myself of the support I had received from my son and Adria. Their encouragement kept coming back to me, giving me the strength to push through. After what seemed ages, I submitted my answers. When the result was announced, I was overjoyed to see that I had passed. All the hard work had paid off. The first time I taught a class alone, my hands were shaking. Despite my preparation beforehand, leading a class was totally different. As I patiently explained the exercises, I noticed the trust in my students’ eyes, the same trust Adria had shown me before. Taking a deep breath, I calmed down and focused on sharing what I had learned. Gradually, my confidence grew. By the end of the class, I experienced a newfound sense of accomplishment and realized I had become a source of inspiration to others, just like Adria had been to me. 1.Which sports game is airing on TV now? He began taking part in the Special Olympics at the age of 10 and has kept it up for decades. He has tried various events including golf, bowling and basketball, but swimming is his lifelong favorite. The first time he swam in a pool, he showed extraordinary natural talent and quickly fell in love with this sport. Swimming soon became the most important part of his life. The friendship and team atmosphere in the Special Olympics meant a lot to him, especially during his teenage years. Chris turned into a top athlete in competitions. In 2011, he was selected to join the Special Olympics World Games held in Greece, where his relay team won a gold medal. This unforgettable experience became a precious memory for him. After returning home from the World Games, Chris was invited to give inspirational speeches to local communities and schools. His speech at his alma mater was praised by a local newspaper editor as the best back-to-school speech he had ever heard. Last year, Chris was inducted into the Special Olympics Missouri Hall of Fame. This honor recognized not only his athletic achievements but also his positive influence on other disabled athletes. His elder sister Carrie said she never doubted Chris’s success. “Our parents set a good example for us. They always told us Chris can do anything I can do, and often he does it better,” she said. Chris is also grateful to his parents for teaching him to give back to the community. He serves in his local church with his wife and has worked as an assistant in a children’s hospital for seven years. Recently, he realized his childhood dream — becoming a swimming coach for the Special Olympics. “This is a huge milestone for me,” Chris said. “I hope to pass on my swimming skills and experience to young players.” 24.What do we know about Chris from the first two paragraphs? A.He aimed to become a famous sports star. B.He won an individual gold medal in Greece. C.He took part in Special Olympics after 10. D.He loved swimming immediately after trying it. 25.What does the underlined word “inducted” in paragraph 4 mean? A.Transformed. B.Separated. C.Admitted. D.Replaced. 26.Why does the author mention Chris’s parents? A.To show they are very famous locally. B.To explain the secret of Chris’s success. C.To praise parents’ contribution to education. D.To prove Carrie owes her success to parents. 27.Which words best describe Chris Ringot? A.Talented, warm-hearted and inspiring. B.Humble, quiet and easy-going. C.Ambitious, strict and confident. D.Diligent, shy and sensitive. C You only need to think of any marathon you’ve watched to assume that men tend to outperform women in sport. But an interesting recent research has triggered the discussion. It is highlighted that the male-female performance gap in ultra-endurance (极限耐力) competitions is as low as 4 percent, while it’s around 10 percent in traditional endurance sport. And the difference seems to reduce the longer the event becomes, to the point that women even outperform men when it comes to events like ultra-distance swimming. When it comes to the marathon, we know that finishing times are greatly influenced by VO2max (最大摄氧量). However, these factors have been shown to be less influential in ultra-endurance performance. What this means is that success in ultra-marathons must be determined by the interplay of other physiological characteristics. If we look at the physiology, men tend to have more type II muscle fibers, which are good for high power output sports such as sprinting (短跑). Women have more type I muscle fibers, which produce less force but are more resistant to exhaustion — ideal for ultra-endurance events. Besides, as distances increase and intensity subsequently decreases, we rely more on fat to provide energy to our working muscles. Research currently suggests that compared to males, endurance-trained females use more fat even at rest and so they have spare essential carbohydrate stores. This would mean they’re less likely to hit “the wall” in a race. Sports psychologists have also suggested that women are generally better at bearing pain, reframing feelings such as exhaustion and enjoying the process rather than worrying about the outcome, all of which might lead to a better performance. As persuasive as these theories are, it’s hard to properly draw a firm conclusion that women excel in ultra-endurance sports. Ultra-endurance events appeal to a very small and specialized part of the population rather than the mainstream and the small numbers of women participating make it challenging to draw conclusions, and it’s rare to find direct comparisons with men. Hopefully this will change over time. 28.What can we learn about the research from Paragraph 1? A.Men perform better than women in sports on the whole. B.Ultra-endurance sports are gaining popularity among women. C.Men are comparatively at a disadvantage in traditional endurance sport. D.The performance divide between men and women closes as distances grow. 29.Which of the following accounts for women’s better ultra-endurance performance? A.They have more type II muscle fibers. B.They are better at burning fat for energy. C.They are less dependent on carbohydrate. D.They care more about competition results. 30.What does the last paragraph focus on? A.The intention of the research. B.The influence of the research. C.The limitation of the research. D.The conclusion of the research. 31.What is the purpose of the passage? A.To explain why women make better ultra-endurance athletes. B.To clarify a fact that females are equally competent in sports. C.To make a comparison between males and females in sports. D.To advocate more women engaging in ultra-endurance sports. D When traveling to a new country, there is so much to see and do. Nobody wants to spend their whole trip sleeping or feeling exhausted. Luckily, there are ways to drive away the ZZZs and make the most of your travel. New research from Arizona State University, links exercise with the body’s internal clock, opening the possibility of treating jet lag (时差反应) with a workout. Both traveling to a different time zone and staying up late at night can severely disturb the body’s internal clock, including making the body release the sleep-causing chemical melatonin (褪黑素) at a time when people want to stay awake. When the internal master clock isn’t in line with the external clock of your destination, it creates a mismatch of all your body rhythms. That’s what lies at the heart of jet lag. The researchers of the study used the level of melatonin released by the body to explore the effects of exercise on body’s internal clock. First, researchers measured the melatonin levels of 99 participants throughout the day to establish a baseline. Then, the participants were asked to exercise for an hour for three days in a row at different times, and their melatonin levels were monitored. The researchers noted shifts in the melatonin levels of participants: correlated with their activity level. The study uncovered that morning (7 a, m,) or afternoon (1-4 p. m.) works shifted the internal clock forward, while evening (7-10 p. m.) exercise shifted it backward. “This is the first study to compare exercise’s effects on the body clock, and could open up the possibility of using exercise to help reduce the negative effects of jet lag and shift work.” Shawn, the lead researcher said. For west-to-east travel, evening exercise can get rid of time zone shifts. For east-to-west travel, morning or afternoon workouts are beneficial. Exercise pushes your internal clock forward or backwards by regulating the amount of melatonin. Walking or cycling are great ways to see the sites, when traveling, while getting jet-lag beating exercise. So, pack your running shoes for your next trip! 32.What is the key factor causing jet lag according to the text? A.Low melatonin. B.Shortened sleeping. C.Long travel tiredness. D.Body rhythm disorder. 33.How did researchers get the result? A.By doing observations. B.By undertaking surveys. C.By making comparisons. D.By integrating experience. 34.What does Shawn think of the study? A.Overrated. B.Pathbreaking. C.Unrealistic. D.Conclusive. 35.Which exercise suits travelers flying from China to Canada? A.Morning jogging. B.Evening swimming. C.Mid-night cycling. D.Random-time walking. Adults should be getting at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity (中等强度) exercise every week, according to the Physical Activity Guidelines published recently. The guidelines advise adults to do muscle-strengthening activities of moderate or greater intensity at least twice per week. 36 “Engaging in a variety of exercises is definitely beneficial,” Voos, who is head team doctor for a football team, said. “Your body needs different ranges of motion, strength and stability. 37 ” This is especially true for children. Sports medicine experts have long encouraged kids to play multiple sports and not to specialize in one at a young age. A lot of data on the topic shows children who specialize in a sport when young have an increased risk of injury. 38 They are less bored with exercise and enjoy greater sports achievements when they are older. 39 Voos said football players at training camp might do a lot of conditioning one day, then work on flexibility and balance the next, then move onto strength training, all of which is intermixed with playing football. “So even at the highest levels, our athletes are exposing their bodies to different motions,” Voos said. Another plus to shaking things up with your exercise routine, especially if you prefer one activity, is that it helps prevent the plateau (高原) effect. 40 That’s because your body has become very efficient at the movements. To overcome such pauses, you need to change your movement routine and stimulate your body in different ways. While changing up your exercise is important for many reasons, experts don’t have specific recommendations for how many different exercises you need to do each week or month to achieve the most benefit. But it’s important to work all of your muscle groups each week, if possible, to strengthen them all. A.However, the children who don’t specialize tend to be healthier. B.This is a period of time when progress in your favored sport stops. C.They also note that varying your exercises can prevent overuse injuries. D.But adults and even professional athletes need to vary their routines, too. E.Cross-training lets your body see all of those different movements each week. F.So they say even simple exercises done at work or home are beneficial, too. G.Those who have the largest amount in their physical activity live the longest. In long-distance running, athletes typically rely on coaches or experienced pacers for motivation. However, during a recent sports event held at a university, a young female runner found herself being 41 by a fluffy five-month-old stray puppy. The little creature, a campus resident known as Bandeng, inspired her to 42 a record-breaking performance. As the athletes struggled to 43 during the final laps of the women’s 3,000-meter contest, the dark-brown stray puppy sped onto the 44 and ran alongside Qilegeer for roughly 200 meters. With the audience cheering 45 , the little dog mirrored every step of the runner, just like a(n) 46 pacemaker guiding her towards the finish line. The heartwarming scene quickly became the 47 of the event. Motivated by the electric 48 — and perhaps with the encouragement of her four-legged 49 on hand — Qilegeer crossed the line, breaking the university’s long-standing record. “I was completely exhausted, but its unexpected 50 filled me with warmth and drive,” she 51 . My gym routine involved awkwardly using machines I didn’t understand, followed by quick escapes to avoid breaking a sweat. I even convinced trainers to cut sessions short for coffee breaks! Exercise felt like a burden until life threw an unexpected challenge my way. Feeling stressed and needing a way to relax, I decided to give fitness another go. Science says exercise releases “feel-good” chemicals, right? But I knew I couldn’t do it alone. I needed a friend or coach to push me. That’s how I met Adria, the owner of a local training studio. Adria didn’t accept excuses. If I skipped class, she’d text: “What’s your plan this week?” Her insistence kept me committed. Over time, I noticed changes not just physically, but in my confidence and mood. The gym turned from a place of fear to one of joy. Then came a surprising turn. One day, exhausted from running her gym on her own, Adria joked, “I wish YOU could take over sometimes!” Me? A trainer? Impossible! I hadn’t studied in years, and my job centered around reading, not fitness. But her trust planted a seed. Curiosity led me to research qualifications. I learned it would take three to six months of reading texts, analyzing charts, and watching videos, as well as online activities and listening to the provided podcasts. I sat with it for weeks and then went online and signed up for the American Council on Exercise (ACE) course.   At first, I didn’t tell anyone about this, but about two months in, I told my family what I had been doing during the evenings when I was home alone. l am so grateful to my son; every time I came up with excuses for why I couldn’t do it and why I thought I wouldn’t pass, he reminded me of the hours I spent quizzing him with flashcards for his medical exam. I was his biggest cheerleader on his way to becoming a doctor, and now here he was quizzing me with flashcards, cheering me on and keeping me positive. The final exam was incredibly intense. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The first time I taught a class alone, my hands were shaking.   _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 试题 第11页(共8页) 试题 第12页(共8页) 试题 第1页(共8页) 试题 第2页(共8页) 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 2026-2027学年高二选择性必修第二册英语单元自测 Unit 2 Sports Culture·能力提升 学校:___________班级:___________姓名:___________分数:___________ (时间:120分钟,满分:150分) 注意事项: 1. 1.Which sports game is airing on TV now? I was going to take part in the two hundred meter race in our school swimming pool.     First the headmaster gave a speech at eight o’clock. He encouraged us all to do well. Five teams took part in each event. At eight thirty, the one hundred meter freestyle began. Unfortunately, one of our swimmers had a sudden pain in her left leg during the race. She stopped swimming and shouted for help. A teacher jumped into the pool and brought her back. Luckily she was fine.     At about ten past nine, it was time for my event, the two hundred meter freestyle. I walked to the edge of the pool and waited for the judge to fire his gun. I heard him say, “On your marks, get set, go.” And we jumped in. However, a swimmer dived into the pool too early. We had to start again. I was in the lead for the first one hundred and fifty meters, but another swimmer swam past me later. I won a medal for second place. I was a little disappointed.     My team came in second overall with forty seven points. The team which won had a total of fifty three points. I’m tired out now. 根据文章第一段中的“The first time he swam in a pool, he showed extraordinary natural talent and quickly fell in love with this sport. (他第一次在游泳池里游泳时,就展现出了非凡的天赋,并迅速爱上了这项运动。)”可知,Chris在尝试游泳后立刻就喜欢上了它。 25.词句猜测题。根据文章第四段中的“Last year, Chris was inducted into the Special Olympics Missouri Hall of Fame. This honor recognized not only his athletic achievements but also his positive influence on other disabled athletes. (去年,Chris被______密苏里州特奥会名人堂。这项荣誉不仅认可了他的运动成就,还认可了他对其他残疾运动员的积极影响。)”可知,能够进入名人堂并获得荣誉,意味着他被“接纳、入选”了。C选项“Admitted(准许进入,接纳)”符合语境。 26. 根据文章第四段中的“His elder sister Carrie said she never doubted Chris’s success. ‘Our parents set a good example for us. They always told us Chris can do anything I can do, and often he does it better,’ she said. (他姐姐Carrie说她从未怀疑过Chris的成功。‘我们的父母为我们树立了榜样。他们总是告诉我们,Chris能做到我能做的一切,而且往往做得更好,’她说。)”可知,作者提及Chris的父母是为了说明他们给予的鼓励和支持是Chris取得成功的重要原因(秘诀)。 27.推理判断题。根据第一段“The first time he swam in a pool, he showed extraordinary natural talent and quickly fell in love with this sport. (他第一次在游泳池里游泳时,就展现出了非凡的天赋,并迅速爱上了这项运动。)”可知,他是有天赋的;根据第五段“ He serves in his local church with his wife and has worked as an assistant in a children’s hospital for seven years. Recently, he realized his childhood dream — becoming a swimming coach for the Special Olympics. ‘This is a huge milestone for me,’ Chris said. ‘I hope to pass on my swimming skills and experience to young players. ’(他与妻子一起在本地教会服务,并曾在一家儿童医院担任助理工作七年。最近,他实现了儿时的梦想——成为特殊奥林匹克运动会的游泳教练。“这对我来说是一个巨大的里程碑,”克里斯说,“我希望将我的游泳技能和经验传授给年轻运动员。”)”可知他是热心肠的;根据第三段“After returning home from the World Games, Chris was invited to give inspirational speeches to local communities and schools. (从世界运动会回国后,克里斯受邀为当地社区和学校发表鼓舞人心的演讲。)”及第四段“This honor recognized not only his athletic achievements but also his positive influence on other disabled athletes. (这一荣誉不仅表彰了他的体育成就,也肯定了他对其他残障运动员所发挥的积极影响。)”可知他是鼓舞人心的(inspiring)。因此,A选项“Talented, warm-hearted and inspiring. (才华横溢、心地温暖且富有启发性。)”最能概括他的性格特征。 C You only need to think of any marathon you’ve watched to assume that men tend to outperform women in sport. 根据第一段“And the difference seems to reduce the longer the event becomes, to the point that women even outperform men when it comes to events like ultra-distance swimming.(而且,这种情况似乎随着赛事时间的延长而逐渐减少,以至于在超长距离游泳等项目中,女性甚至超过了男性)”可知,比赛距离增加,男女运动差距逐渐缩小。 29. 根据第三段“Research currently suggests that compared to males, endurance-trained females use more fat even at rest and so they have spare essential carbohydrate stores.(目前的研究表明,与男性相比,耐力训练过的女性即使在静息状态下也消耗更多的脂肪,因此她们体内拥有额外的必需碳水化合物储备)”可知,女性更擅长分解脂肪供能,适配长距离耐力运动。 30. 根据最后一段“Ultra-endurance events appeal to a very small and specialized part of the population rather than the mainstream and the small numbers of women participating make it challenging to draw conclusions.(超长距离赛事吸引的是极少数特定人群,而非主流群体,而参与其中的女性人数较少,因此很难得出结论)”可知,本段点明该项研究存在局限性。 31. 根据第二段中“When the internal master clock isn’t in line with the external clock of your destination, it creates a mismatch of all your body rhythms. That’s what lies at the heart of jet lag.(当人体内部的主时钟与目的地的外部时钟不一致时,就会导致所有身体节律的不匹配。这正是时差反应的核心所在)”可知,导致时差反应的关键因素是身体节律紊乱。故选D项。 33.推理判断题。根据第三段“First, researchers measured the melatonin levels of 99 participants throughout the day to establish a baseline. Then, the participants were asked to exercise for an hour for three days in a row at different times, and their melatonin levels were monitored.(首先,研究人员全天测量了99名参与者的褪黑素水平,以建立一个基线。然后,要求参与者连续三天在不同时间进行一小时的运动,并监测他们的褪黑素水平)”可知,研究人员通过对比参与者运动前后以及不同时间运动时的褪黑素水平来得出结果。故选C项。 34.推理判断题。根据第四段中Shawn的话“This is the first study to compare exercise’s effects on the body clock, and could open up the possibility of using exercise to help reduce the negative effects of jet lag and shift work.(这是第一项比较运动对生物钟影响的研究,并且为利用运动来帮助减少时差反应和倒班工作的负面影响开辟了可能性)”可知,Shawn认为这项研究是具有开创性的。故选B项。 35. 故选A项。 Adults should be getting at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity (中等强度) exercise every week, according to the Physical Activity Guidelines published recently. 由上文“The guidelines advise adults to do muscle-strengthening activities of moderate or greater intensity at least twice per week. 【导语】要求以李华的身份,围绕 “Exercise an hour every day, healthy life for a lifetime.” 这一话题,阐述对这句话的理解,介绍喜欢的运动及该运动带来的益处。 【详解】1.词汇积累 品质:quality → trait 增强:build up → strengthen 使恢复精神:refresh → revitalize 遇到:encounter → come across 2. 句式拓展   简单句变复合句 原句:My favourite is playing basketball. 拓展句:What I like most is playing basketball. 【点睛】【高分句型1】Those who keep on taking exercises regularly will keep fit and live a happy life.(运用who引导的定语从句) 【高分句型2】After school I usually spend an hour on it, which not only builds up my body but makes me refreshed.(运用which引导的非限制性定语从句) 第二节(满分25分) 阅读下面材料:根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。 A few years ago, if you asked me about exercise, I would laugh. I was his biggest cheerleader on his way to becoming a doctor, and now here he was quizzing me with flashcards, cheering me on and keeping me positive. 注意: (1)续写词数应为150个左右; (2)请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 The final exam was incredibly intense. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The first time I taught a class alone, my hands were shaking.   _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】 The final exam was incredibly intense. 词汇激活 行为类 ①提交:submit/hand in/turn in ②解释:explain/clarify/illustrate 情绪类 ①喜悦的:overjoyed/delighted/thrilled ②镇定下来:calm down/settle down/pull oneself together 【点睛】【高分句型1】As I worked through the questions, I kept reminding myself of the support that I had received from my son and Adria. (运用了as引导的时间状语从句以及that引导的限制性定语从句) 【高分句型2】Taking a deep breath, I calmed down and focused on sharing what I had learned. (运用了现在分词短语Taking a deep breath作伴随状语以及what引导的宾语从句) 原创精品资源学科网独家享有版权,侵权必究!1 学科网(北京)股份有限公司1 / 23 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
