City Hall in the late 19th century. The exhibition
stayed there for over 70 years until the main
building as it stands today was established in
1959 at Karlsplatz.Since then,the museum has
rapidly spread to 22 locations around the city,in-
cluding a clock museum and the apartments of
Beethoven,Mozart and Haydn.Entry to the
Wien Museum's many locations is free for teen-
agers and children, and for all on the first Sunday
of each month.
Belvedere Museum

buildings,including two Baroque summer palaces
that were built in the early 18th century.Be-
tween them are wide, landscaped gardens where
visitors can jog, bike and simply wander. The
entire complex is a UNESCO World Heritage Site

Museums have been around for centuries,
with the first known museum founded in the 3rd
century BC.For a long time, they were used to
showcase traditional artworks like paintings,sculp-
tures and drawings.
In recent times,however,digital art has
started to gain popularity as an art form. This
has raised the question of whether or not muse-
ums should accept digital art into their collec-
tions.
Digital art can be defined as an artwork crea-
ted using digital technology and tools like com-
puters,tablets and smartphones.It includes a
variety of mediums such as animation,3D model-
ling, virtual reality and video game design.Digit-
al art is increasingly being used by artists to cre-
ate unique pieces that are unlike anything else
seen before.
The debate over whether museums should
accept digital art into their collections has been
ongoing for some time.On one hand, many be-
lieve that digital art is not "real"art and does not
deserve to be given the same recognition as tradi-
tional artworks.On the other hand,supporters
of digital art hold the view that museums should
embrace this new form of expression and give it
the same respect as any other type of artworks.
The truth is that many museums have al-
ready begun to accept digital art into their collec-
tions. In fact, some museums have even dedica-
ted entire exhibitions to showcasing digital art-
works from around the world. This shows that
there is a growing appreciation for this type of
expression and that it is slowly becoming more
accepted by mainstream audiences.

In general, while there may still be some de-
bate over whether or not digital art deserves to be
accepted into museum collections,it is clear that
many museums are beginning to welcome this
new form of expression. As more people realize
the digital art and its potential as an artistic me-
dium,it will likely become even more popular in
years to come.

selling points, but this also started debates about
the new medium's implications for visual culture.
Could images made largely by a machine be con-
sidered art?If so,where did human creativity fit
in this process?
As the twenty-first century becomes increas-
ingly automated, more and more people attempt
to identify where human agency exists in the
technologically driven world.Images generated
with artificial intelligence by companies like
OpenAI are stimulating questions like those that
emerged with the coming of the photograph.By
typing a sentence,users can generate "new"ima-
ges composed from images collected across the
Internet. The result has been a flood of AI-gen-
erated images in places that are previously unique
to human authors.Painting competitions,com-
mercial graphic design and the fashion of portrai-
ture(肖像)have all since collided(碰撞)with
the technology in troubling ways.
The fine arts were thought to be a final hold-
out of human creativity, but the surprisingly
high quality of AI-generated images is producing
deeper questions about the nature of originality.
If the history of photography tells us anything,
it's that the debate won't be settled quickly,
straightforwardly,or by the institutions we typi-
cally associate with cultural gate keeping.

When it comes to debates
over the Mona Lisa,most people
tend to fall into conversation over
whether the subject is pretending a
smile.1 -whether the paint-
ing shows an image of a woman
who has eyebrows(眉毛),as her
forehead seems strangely free of follicles ()
The answer?Perhaps.But not anymore.2
It was most stylish for women in 16th-century It-
aly to pull out or shave their eyebrows. It's with-
in reason that Lisa Gherardini, who is the sus-
pected model for the painting, may have been lac-
king in eyebrows for that reason.
In 2007,a French photographer and engineer
named Pascal Cotte cast doubt on that idea.Using
an advanced camera capable of capturing images
of high quality,Cotte claimed he was able to vis-
ualize a faint eyebrow hair on her face.3.
If Cotte's observation is correct, why only
one hair?It's possible,Cotte said,that Da Vinci
painted a glaze (over most of the piece and
then added further detail on top of it.4.The
restoration work applied to the painting over time
may have accidentally erased her follicular fea-
tures.Based on his analysis,Cotte visualized oth-
er layers of the painting.Da Vinci moved the two
left fingers of his subject and had originally made
her smile wider, according to the photographer.
Cotte's photos allow observers to make their own
judgment about whether Mona Lisa's eyebrows were
pulled out.5.
A.A more careful analysis might raise another argu-
ment
B.No one will deny it's Leonardo Da Vinci's
symbolic artwork
C.Perhaps Da Vinci had indeed intended to paint
his subject with eyebrows
D.In painting the work,Da Vinci was likely to be rec-
ognizing the fashion trends
E.That may have created the situation where the top-
most layer was easily damaged
F.It's another element that may make the painting ap-
pealing for another 500 years
G.It can clearly be seen that cracks(裂缝)
around the eye have slightly disappeared

2.D[根据空后下文“It was most stylish for
women in 16th-century Italy to pull out or
D项中“Da Vinci was likely to be recognizing
3.C[根据空处上文“Using an advanced camera
capable of capturing images of high quality,
Cotte claimed he was able to visualize a faint
eyebrow hair on her face.(使用能够捕捉高质
indeed intended to paint his subject with eye-
4.E[空处上文“It's possible,Cotte said,that
Da Vinci painted a glaze (over most of the
piece and then added further detail on top of it.
The restoration work applied to the
painting over time may have accidentally erased
servers to make their own judgment about
whether Mona Lisa's eyebrows were pulled
