Not only; but also (二)宾语从句 宾语从句的三要素:时态、语序、连接词 【1】宾语从句的连接词 1.that引导的宾语从句 陈述句(肯定或否定)作宾语从句,由连词that连接。 I think (that) this answer is correct. I know nothing about him except (that) he lives the next door. 1.We never doubt ________ you will have a ________ future. A. that; successful B. if; successful C. that; success D. whether; success 2.if/whether 引导的宾语从句 一般疑问句作宾语从句,由连词whether或if引导,因为if/whether在句中翻译成“是否”,具有一定的意义,所以不能省略,且宾语从句要用陈述句语序。 I want to know whether/if you will come soon. I wonder whether/if you’d like to read the novel. 1. —I don’t know if David ________ to have the meeting tomorrow. —Don’t worry. I will tell you as soon as he ________. A.comes; will come B.will come; comes C.will come; will come D.comes; comes 2. We haven’t decided ________. A.that we will repair our house B.when did we go to the party C.where we went on vacation D.whether we will keep a pet 拓展:if和whether的区别: 1. 能用whether不能用if的几种情况: ①宾语从句中有or not时(意思为“或不是”,“或没有”),则用whether…or not; I am not sure whether it will be fine or not tomorrow.(我不能肯定明天天气是好还是不好。) It depends on whether it is going to rain. She doesn’t know whether to get married now or wait. Whether the news is true remains a question. 2. You will achieve great success, if you have a dream and believe in it. 3. 1.—Do you know ________? I'm going to see him. —Sorry, I don't know. A.where does Mr. Li live B.where did Mr. Li live C.where Mr. Li lives D.where Mr. Li lived 2. Everyone can play an important part in society. As members,we should try our best to do _______. A.what we should do B.what should we do C.how we should do D.how should we do 当know, tell, remember, forget, decide, show, teach 等动词之后接 “wh-”引导的宾语从句,从句的主语与主句的主语相一致时,从句可以简化成“wh-”+ to do 的形式,why除外。 I don’t know how I can find the missing dog.= I don’t know how to find the missing dog. Do you know what you should do next? = Do you know what to do next? 1. Can you tell me how I can deal with the problem?= Can you tell me how to deal with the problem? She knows (that) her parents will arrive in Nanjing tomorrow. I know (that) he lived here five years ago. 2. I didn’t know (that) he would come. Miss Li told us (that) she had seen the film. 3. The teacher told us (that) the earth travels around the sun. She said (that) two plus three is five. I heard (that) he won a prize. They don’t know where he is. 练习 (1)—Lucy, what do you want to know about Yangzhou? —I am wondering ________. Luckily, on my birthday in 2009, I received a new heart and was given a second chance at life!” After volunteering in Los Angeles hospitals, Kaufman started the non-profit organization—Ava’s Heart. She and her organization offered transplant patients services that were often not covered by insurance (保险), including food, gas, co-pays on medicines, and housing. “What I found out was that if you didn’t have post-transplant housing, you couldn’t get listed and admitted (允许进入) into the hospital,” Kaufman said. She said that for the nearly 110,000 people in the USA waiting for a life-saving organ transplant, it was not just a matter of adding your name to the list. Patients must be financially secure (经济保障的) and be able to afford transportation. What’s more, they must find accommodations (住所) near their transplant hospital. Kaufman runs two housing locations, which allows the patients to remain close to their transplant hospital during the period of their aftercare, usually about three months at no cost. Her organization also helps donor (捐献者) families, which she thinks makes the whole circle complete. “The donor is the whole story. Without the donor, there are no transplant centers, no transplant surgeons, no me. In my eyes, the donors are the heroes.” Kaufman said. So far, Ava’s Heart has helped nearly 90 families with burial costs for their loved ones whose organs have saved countless lives. Kaufman also works closely with those who help build relationships with donor families and spread awareness about the importance of organ donation. 26.Why did Kaufman talk about her memory in Paragraph 1? A.To suggest the importance of life. B.To remember her dull and boring days. C.To show the reason for paying back. D.To confirm her love for the profession. 27.For a transplant patient, admission into the hospital requires the following EXCEPT ________. A.health insurance B.nearby housing C.financial security D.affordable transportation 28.Which of the following best describes Kaufman? A.Brave and caring. B.Grateful and warm-hearted. C.Practical and hard-working. D.Loyal and easy-going. B Once again the Captain’s will won. Silent, the men returned to their posts. But Captain Columbus was worried because he knew in his heart that a day would come when his words would no longer help. Before that day, he would see land. Not an eye closed that night. The Captain stood on the high poop (艉楼) and with sleepless eyes he tried hard to look into the darkness ahead. Then, two hours before midnight, the miracle happened. A far-off light struck his eyes. It wavered (摇曳) once or twice, moving quickly on the horizon, like a fisherman’s boat on the waves. His heart hammered (砰砰直跳). But he dared not cry out, “Land!” “Your eyes are sharp, Alfredo,” he whispered to a young sailor. “Tell me what you see.” Even as he spoke, the light disappeared. “I see nothing.” The sailor stared into the darkness. The light had reappeared. “Look out!” “Ah, yes, yes! A light. Over there.” “Quiet! Are you sure, Alfredo?” “But yes, Captain! It is gone now, yet I saw it.” Surely this was not a trick of the light! Alfredo had seen it too. Somewhere ahead in darkness were human beings and inhabited land. They stood shoulder to trembling shoulder, staring into the dark. Hour after hour passed. The sand-glass under the lantern showed that it was two o’clock in the morning. The other two ships loomed (隐约出现) vaguely and in the east the line of the horizon was clearly defined. Then came a flash of flame (火焰). The long-awaited signal! Land in sight. “Land! Land!” Almost immediately came the ringing cry. There in the west, green and fair, lay an island. Who can tell how Christopher Columbus felt at that moment? The long waiting was at an end. The dream had come true. 29.Where did the story happen? A.On an island. B.On the sea. C.In the west. D.In the Captain’s dream. 30.When did the Captain see a far-off light for the first time? A.At about 10 p.m. B.At about 2 a.m. C.At midnight. D.In the morning. 31.During that night, how did Captain Columbus’ feelings change? A.Worried → nervous → excited. B.Scared → curious → happy. C.Afraid → happy → excited. D.Excited → scared → happy. 32.What was Captain Columbus’ dream? A.Finding the human beings in the sea. B.Being saved by other ships. C.Helping his sailors get the light in the darkness. D.Discovering the land on the horizon. Taking responsibility for yourself and your actions is an important part of personal growth. It’s never too late to start practicing the positive habit of accepting responsibility for yourself. 33 Improve your confidence. 34 If you can’t think of any, ask loved ones to help. You can also write down your goals, create a plan for achieving them and learn to accept positive feedback. Remove the excuses. To break the harmful habit of excuse-making, ensure you’re honestly acknowledging (承认) what really happened. Next time you’re faced with the negative result of a situation, ensure you say something like “Sorry, I messed it up. How can I make up for it?” 35 Take positive actions. If you want your family and friends to show more interest in your life, get interested in theirs. If you want a more satisfying job, figure out what you need to do to achieve it. Your actions will affect what you get out of life, so ensure you’re acting in a way you get what you want. 36 If you often see yourself as a powerless man, this might be because you are experiencing hardships in your own life. And this feeling will be strengthened by the way you communicate with yourself and others. So look out for passive (消极), self-destroying thoughts like “Why is this happening to me?” and learn to take responsibility. A.How can I be more powerful? B.Change your thought patterns. C.Realize who you are as a person. D.No matter how old you are, you can easily begin today. E.Don’t worry—your honesty will earn you respect from others. F.Spend some time reflecting on your strengths and how to use them. The Senior School Entrance Exams for Chinese Junior 3 students used to be mainly about academic (学术类的) subjects such as Chinese, Maths, English, etc. But starting from 2022, there are also tests in music. This policy aims to encourage primary and secondary schools to provide more fine music classes because a new study shows that music education is really important in school education. Here are some ideas on how music plays an important role in school education. Music helps with Maths and Science. Students learn to count, and how to multiply and divide. Students also use Science to help them discover what sounds good together and what doesn’t. Besides, students also use Science to understand how music is produced by vibration (颤动) and why. Students learn a lot about languages through music. Many songs are written in foreign languages. Students must learn to translate these foreign works to understand what they are singing about. Students learn a huge amount of cooperation (协调) of body parts through music, so parts of the body can work better together. For example, students must use motor (肌肉运动的) skills in order to play an instrument. Singers and wind (管乐器) players must learn breath control and be in good shape to sing and play. Students learn about Art through music. Some famous pieces of music were written about important pieces of art, and students learn about the artists and styles as they’re playing the music. Music education also brings higher thinking. Students have to be aware (知道的) of what every other musician does at every time. In this way, it develops cooperation as well. They tend to develop more ability for learning. 37.When did China start to include music tests in Senior School Entrance Exams? 38.How many good points about the importance of school music education are talked about? 39.Why can music help parts of the body work better together? 40.In your daily life, what benefit (好处) do you think music brings to you? Not only; but also (二)宾语从句 宾语从句的三要素:时态、语序、连接词 【1】宾语从句的连接词 1.that引导的宾语从句 陈述句(肯定或否定)作宾语从句,由连词that连接。 I think (that) this answer is correct. I know nothing about him except (that) he lives the next door. 1.We never doubt ________ you will have a ________ future. A. that; successful B. if; successful C. that; success D. whether; success 答案:A 2.if/whether 引导的宾语从句 一般疑问句作宾语从句,由连词whether或if引导,因为if/whether在句中翻译成“是否”,具有一定的意义,所以不能省略,且宾语从句要用陈述句语序。 I want to know whether/if you will come soon. A.that we will repair our house B.when did we go to the party C.where we went on vacation D.whether we will keep a pet 答案:B D 拓展:if和whether的区别: 1. I finally ended up on life support in intensive care with organ (器官) failure,” Kaufman recalled. “I went from living this big life to not knowing how I was going to survive. D.Excited → scared → happy. 32.What was Captain Columbus’ dream? A.Finding the human beings in the sea. B.Being saved by other ships. C.Helping his sailors get the light in the darkness.
