Applying the rules
In a society where people are under a lot of pressure, sleep problems have become very common. That is the reason why World Sleep Day is celebrated every year on the Friday of the second full week of March. Its aims are to make people understand the importance of good and healthy sleep and to draw society’s attention to sleep problems. It is a time when people have discussions and give talks about the importance of healthy sleep.

A wake-up call for insufficient sleep
A recent school survey on sleep presents a disturbing picture. As the data shows, 45% of the students sleep less than 6 hours daily, and 40% get only 6 to 7 hours. Merely 15% enjoy the recommended 8 to 10 hours of rest. Clearly, insufficient sleep has become a serious issue among teenagers.
In my opinion, this situation calls for immediate action. First, schools, teachers and students should make joint efforts to create a healthier balance between study and rest. Second, students must manage time wisely and avoid using phones late at night. Most importantly, everyone needs to realize that sleep is as vital as studying for our health and academic performance.
Let’s wake up to this crisis and prioritize our rest starting tonight.

1.词数80左右;
2.可适当增加细节,以使行文连贯。
Dear Philip,

Dear Philip,
I’m sorry that you are having sleep problems since you transferred to this boarding school. The first few days, if not weeks, of living on campus can be really challenging.
But there’re still ways to change the situation. For example, make sure that all the curtains have been drawn before you sleep, which effectively creates a safe and peaceful feeling. And making yourself tired both physically and mentally in the daytime can also help you fall fast asleep. What else do you want after a long day of hard work and hard play, but a good night’s sleep, anyway?
I hope these two tips can work wonders on you as they once did on me. Just try and take care of yourself!
Yours
Li Hua
