At an early age, we start learning how to manage (掌管) money by watching our parents spending habits. Don’t worry if we haven’t learnt well how to save or spend money. The following life lessons about money can help us form good spending habits.①
Money doesn’t grow on trees. We shouldn’t spend all our money in one go. It’s important for us to have a budget (预算). ②We should set a clear goal and watch our money grow. How? Write down how much money we have in a notebook and watch it grow. After we have enough, we can buy things we’ve dreamed about!
Working out your priorities (优先事项) is the most important part of budgeting. For example, if you plan on buying a new smartphone and a cool smartwatch, you should think about saving some money. The next time your friends invite you to go to KTV with them, you might as well decide to pass.
Parents can put pocket money directly (直接) into your bank account (账户). You put your money in it and your money will grow in a month. Why? It’s because the big banks usually have an interest rate (利率) of 1.5 percent for a year.
③We can talk with our parents about how money is used and where money goes. Do you know what a bank account is? ④We can also go to the supermarket with our parents to experience (体验) how money is spent in the real world.
We should treat money in the right way. From these lessons, we can get a sense of money management and right money values step by step!

A. ¥985 B. ¥1,150 C. ¥1,000 D. ¥1,015

A. ④ B. ③ C. ② D. ①
35. Which of the following will the writer probably agree with?

Chinese birthday customs are about history, health, happiness and wishes for long life. They are important to Chinese culture and values. Here are some interesting birthday traditions in China.
Dates and Ages
·Counting Ages: In China, a newborn baby is considered one year old, so a boy’s second birthday in the West is a Chinese boy’s third by Chinese counting.
·Celebrated Only on the Date: It’s bad luck to celebrate one’s birthday after the actual (实际的) birth date. So people often celebrate birthdays on that very day or before it.
Do’s and Don’ts in Gifting
·Do give gifts that mean health, long life, and success (成功), like fruits or tea.
·Never give taboo gifts such as clocks, green hats, umbrellas or knives, as they don’t bring good luck. For example, clocks sound similar to “death” in Chinese.
First Month Celebration
·Known as “mănyuè” in Chinese, this tradition has a history of hundreds of years. People have a big party for the baby. It shows the baby stays safe for 30 days and will grow fast later.
·Red eggs are given to family, friends and neighbors as a symbol of happiness and new life. In China, celebrations often use the color red as a symbol of good luck:
60th Birthday
·It’s celebrated with a great party. The birthday person eats beautiful Shou Bao with others to share the joy together. They look like peaches and are a symbol of love, living forever and good health.
·This is one of the most celebrated birthdays in China. It marks a full 60-year cycle (循环) of the Chinese zodiac—it has 12 animals (one for each year).
