First, Fish Mouth divides the water of the Minjiang River and discharges sand. Then Flying Sand Fence further discharges flood and sand. Finally, Bottle Neck Channel leads water to the farmland of Chengdu Plain. Dujiangyan prevents floods and irrigates the plain, helping local people grow enough grain for over 2,000 years.
