Red-themed cultural education plays a key role in fostering students’ patriotism and sense of responsibility. Let’s check out several excellent red-themed practice platforms that can bring revolutionary history and spirit to life for your child’s school learning experience.
Revolutionary History Virtual Museums
To make revolutionary history accessible and engaging, the National Museum of China has launched a series of virtual red-themed museums. These online exhibitions feature 3D interactive views of historic sites, interactive timelines of major revolutionary events, and audio stories of revolutionary martyrs. Students can “visit” iconic sites like the Nanhu Red Boat and the Zunyi Meeting Site from home, and learn about the struggles and sacrifices of the older generation.
Red-themed Social Practice Camps
Run by local education authorities and red culture research institutions, these offline camps take students to real revolutionary memorial sites, old revolutionary base areas, and memorial halls. During the 3-5-day camps, students can take part in hands-on activities like experiencing wartime life, making military supplies, and interviewing veterans. The camps also include group discussions to help students truly understand the red spirit.
Red Spirit Lecture Series
This online lecture series invites historians, veterans, and descendants of revolutionary martyrs to share their insights and personal stories. Each lecture focuses on a specific red spirit, such as the Long March Spirit, the Yan’an Spirit, and the Two Bombs, One Satellite Spirit. During 20 years of stacking (码放) shelves with goods at his family’s supermarket in Pollenca on the Spanish island of Mallorca, Jose Luis-Reig, known as Pep, never gave a thought to the academic world. It was only when visiting the classrooms and passages of mainland universities with his two teenage daughters that he suddenly felt himself at home among the books and atmosphere of learning.
After school Pep had intended to do a degree in biology at Barcelona University but had been called on to help run the family business instead.
But the question of “What’s my role in life?“ still kept coming back to him. It wasn’t until a year later that the answer suddenly struck him. When he was at school, other children would come to him with their problems. He developed a reputation and so was invited onto local radio, where the interviewer said, “You’re like a young psychologist.”
Pep was no stranger to change. The family business had originally been a sawmill (锯木厂), but when Pep, then 27, was asked if he wanted to take over, he decided to transform the mill into the town’s first supermarket.
One day in the shop, what the radio presenter said came back to him. After running the idea past his family, he applied to university in Palma to study psychology and, aged 46, was accepted.
“I had to get used to being much older than all the other students,” he says.“ In fact, I was older than my professor. But I believe disadvantages can always be advantages. And I ended up helping the others because I’d had more life experience that carries psychological impact, which could reflect classroom theory.
Pep came top of his year and impressed his tutors so much that he was offered a job researching and teaching, which he still does while studying for a master’s in neuropsychology. Now 52, and still in the job, he adds, “My only regret is not having done it earlier.
4. What can we know about Pep in the first paragraph?
A. He felt relaxed in the academic atmosphere.
B. He visited his daughters’ universities frequently.
C. He supported his daughters by arranging shelves.
D. He never quit the thought of going to mainland colleges.
5. What was Pep’s answer to the question of his role in life?
A. To win a reputation. B. To study psychology.
C. To take over his family business. D. To cure children of their problems.
6. What inspired Pep to apply to the university in Palma at 46?
A. His pursuit of a better career. B. The radio presenter’s comment.
C. His classmates’ encouragement. D. The proposal of the family members.
7. Which quality might have helped Pep a lot in the university?
A. Integrity. B. Self-discipline. C. Sensitivity. D. Optimism.
A 5. D 6. B 7. D
根据第一段中的“It was only when visiting the classrooms and passages of mainland universities with his two teenage daughters that he suddenly felt himself at home among the books and atmosphere of learning.(只是在和两个十几岁的女儿一起参观内地大学的教室和通道时,他才突然觉得自己在书本和学习氛围中感到宾至如归)”可知,在与自己的女儿参观本地大学时,Pep会有一种宾至如归的感觉。 故选A项。
根据第三段中的“It wasn’t until a year later that the answer suddenly struck him. When he was at school, other children would come to him with their problems. He developed a reputation and so was invited onto local radio, where the interviewer said, “You’re like a young psychologist.(直到一年后,答案才突然降临到他心头。当他在学校时,其他孩子会带着他们的问题来找他。他声名鹊起,因此被邀请到当地电台,采访者说:“你就像一个年轻的心理学家。”)”可知,Pep在学校的时候,他经常帮助学生解决问题,因此而声名鹊起。由此推知,Pep认为人生角色的答案是治愈孩子的问题。故选D项。
【6题详解】
细节理解题。根据第三段中的“He developed a reputation and so was invited onto local radio, where the interviewer said, “You’re like a young psychologist.(他声名鹊起,因此被邀请到当地电台,采访者说:“你就像一个年轻的心理学家。”)”以及倒数第三段中的“One day in the shop, what the radio presenter said came back to him.(有一天在商店里,电台主持人说的话又回到了他脑海中)”可知,在接受电台采访时,记者说Pep很像一位年轻的心理学家,Pep想到这句评论后申请读大学。故选B项。

C
Today, with the help of AI tools, anyone can instantly generate impressive architectural images. Yet this raises a serious question: if technology lowers the technical barrier, what remains the true value of design? The answer, many experts believe, lies in deeper philosophical thinking.
Architecture is not only about structure. It also reflects how humans understand life. This understanding begins with the individual — how a building can shape people’s emotions, and then extends to the community — whether a neighborhood design brings people together or drives them apart. Ultimately, it touches upon time itself — how to balance the preservation of historical identity with the need for change. In many cities, preserving every old structure, no matter its function or relevance, has become something of a sacred cow, admired by all but discussed by few. Yet true architectural philosophy requires us to ask whether preserving everything always serves the community’s best interest.
AI can copy thousands of design styles, but it cannot make value judgments. It does not know why, for instance, a library in Colombia places its reading room — not offices — in the brightest and highest spaces: a design choice symbolizing equality. As scholar Nayef AI — Rodhan points out, “good design should possess valuable qualities, including fairness, inclusion, and safety, which cannot be outsourced to AI.”
In the future, the best architects may not be those who master AI tools, but those who master philosophical reflection. Saudi Arabia’s planned city “The Line” is one such example. Its design is not only technological but also philosophical — it asks whether humans can create a sustainable city that allows people to live in harmony with nature. By turning a traditional city into a single vertical (垂直的) line, it challenges our deepest assumptions about urban life.
Freed from repetitive drafting work, architects in the age of AI must think more deeply about humanity, community, and sustainability. The great designs of the future will emerge where technology meets philosophy, not where one replaces the other.
8. What does architecture truly involve?
A. The application of technology. B. The consideration of human life.
C. The pursuit of perfect structure. D. The focus on heritage protection.
9. What does the underlined word “outsourced” in Paragraph 3 mean?
A. Passed on. B. Given up. C. Taken back. D. Handed over.
10. Why is “The Line” mentioned in Paragraph 4?
A. To highlight deep thinking. B. To praise sustainable city designs.
C. To challenge existing designs. D. To argue against the use of AI tools.
11. What is the best title for the text?
A. The Future of Urban Architecture B. Breakthrough in Traditional Design
C. The Role of Technology in Architecture D. Reflection Beyond Architectural Design
B 9. D 10. A 11. D
根据第二段“Architecture is not only about structure. It also reflects how humans understand life.(建筑不仅关乎结构,它还反映出人类对生活的理解)” 可知,建筑真正关乎对人类生活的思考。
根据第三段“AI can copy thousands of design styles, but it cannot make value judgments.(人工智能能够复制成千上万种设计风格,但它无法做出价值判断)”以及划线词上文“good design should possess valuable qualities, including fairness, inclusion, and safety(良好的设计应当具备一些重要的特质,比如公正性、包容性和安全性)”可知,AI无法做价值判断,好的设计所具备的公平、包容和安全等有价值的品质不能交给人工智能去做,故推测outsourced意为“交给”,与“handed over(移交、交给)” 意思最接近。
根据第四段“In the future, the best architects may not be those who master AI tools, but those who master philosophical reflection. Saudi Arabia’s planned city “The Line” is one such example. Its design is not only technological but also philosophical — it asks whether humans can create a sustainable city that allows people to live in harmony with nature. By turning a traditional city into a single vertical (垂直的) line, it challenges our deepest assumptions about urban life.(未来,最顶尖的建筑师或许并非那些精通人工智能工具的人,而是深谙哲学思辨之道的人。沙特阿拉伯规划建造的新城“线性城(The Line)”便是一例。这座城市的设计兼具科技感与哲学内涵——它探寻人类能否打造一座可持续发展、人与自然和谐共生的城市。该设计打破传统城市格局,将城市化为一条垂直动线,颠覆了人们对城市生活根深蒂固的固有认知)”可知,最好的建筑师是掌握哲学思考的人,随后举“The Line”为例,说明其设计既有技术又有哲学深度,是为了强调深度思考的重要性。故选A。
根据第一段“Today, with the help of AI tools, anyone can instantly generate impressive architectural images. Yet this raises a serious question: if technology lowers the technical barrier, what remains the true value of design? The answer, many experts believe, lies in deeper philosophical thinking.(如今,借助人工智能工具,任何人都能瞬间生成令人惊叹的建筑图像。然而这引发了一个严肃的问题:如果技术降低了技术门槛,那么设计的真正价值究竟何在?许多专家认为,答案在于更深层次的哲学思考)”结合全文内容可知,文章围绕AI时代建筑设计的真正价值展开,强调技术之外更需要哲学层面的反思,核心是建筑设计之外的深度思考。D选项“超越建筑设计的思考”最符合文章标题。故选D。
D
The idea that we need to eat meat to get enough protein and iron, a false assumption of some Paleo diet advocates, is a common misconception. It ignores the abundance of protein and iron in many plant-based foods such as nuts and seeds. Likewise, while we typically associate omega-3 fatty acids with fish, fish themselves incorporate these into their tissue by eating seaweed, which we can consume directly without the concerns of exposure to microplastics in fish flesh.
Evidently, significantly reducing our consumption of meat would carry vast benefits. Cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of death around the world. Eating highly processed foods and red meat has been repeatedly demonstrated to promote underlying mechanisms of cancer and cardiovascular disease, such as inflammation (炎症) and damage to the lining of blood vessels. In addition to harming ourselves, eating meat harms others. Factory farming practices often imply unspeakable cruelty to animals, and working conditions for human laborers are often unsafe and inhumane as well. Overcrowding of livestock and workers promotes the spread of disease among both people and animals, putting us all at risk for future pandemics. The overuse of “routine” antibiotics to accelerate animal growth and precautiously treat the infections anticipated as a result of living in unclean and overcrowded conditions can promote antibiotic resistance.
While large-scale, well-organized national and international action is undoubtedly needed to fight unscrupulous factory farming practices—and to ensure the availability of nutritious and healthy food for all citizens, those with greater influence, such as physicians, educators and policy makers, should consider the importance of acting as role models for healthy behaviors themselves as well as advocating for policies that ensure better nutritional access and education for others.
All of these should not be excuses for individuals to resist carrying out change in their own lives and communities. Societies change when enough individuals within them alter their behavior, and it is up to each of us to act as a change agent in whatever capacity we can. We would all be well served to pull this means in our own lives as well.
12. What challenges a common belief about meat consumption?
A. Microplastics make fish a poor omega-3 source.
B. Meat is not essential for obtaining key nutrients.
C. Nuts and seeds lack sufficient nutrients to replace meat.
D. Plant-based foods cannot provide enough protein and iron.
13. What can be implied from factory farming practices?
A. They are technologically advanced. B. They are morally questionable.
C. They are environmentally unfriendly. D. They are economically efficient.
14. What does the author emphasize about societal change?
A. Governments must lead policy reforms.
B. International action will solve challenges.
C. Individuals should initiate behavioral shifts.
D. Role models must play vital role in education.
15. Which best describes the article's structure?
A. Comparative study. B. Time order.
C. Cause-effect. D. Problem-solution.
B 13. B 14. C 15. D

根据第一段“The idea that we need to eat meat to get enough protein and iron, a false assumption of some Paleo diet advocates, is a common misconception. It ignores the abundance of protein and iron in many plant-based foods such as nuts and seeds.(我们需要吃肉来获得足够的蛋白质和铁,这是一些古代饮食倡导者的错误假设,是一种常见的误解。它忽略了许多植物性食物(如坚果和种子)中丰富的蛋白质和铁。)”可知,人们普遍认为肉类是获得主要营养物质所必需的食物,但这是一种误解,实际上许多植物性食物中也含有丰富的蛋白质和铁这样关键营养物质,所以肉类并不是获取关键营养物质的必需品。故选B。
【13题详解】
细节理解题。根据第二段“Factory farming practices often imply unspeakable cruelty to animals, and working conditions for human laborers are often unsafe and inhumane as well.(工厂化农场的做法往往意味着对动物难以形容的残酷,而人类劳工的工作条件往往也不安全和不人道。)”
根据最后一段“All of these should not be excuses for individuals to resist carrying out change in their own lives and communities. Societies change when enough individuals within them alter their behavior, and it is up to each of us to act as a change agent in whatever capacity we can.(所有这些都不应该成为个人拒绝在自己的生活和社区中进行变革的借口。当社会中有足够多的人改变他们的行为时,社会就会改变,我们每个人都应该尽我们所能成为变革的推动者。)”可知,作者强调了每个人都应该改变自己的行为,尽自己所能推动社会变革。故选C。
【15题详解】
推理判断题。文章第一段“The idea that we need to eat meat to get enough protein and iron, a false assumption of some Paleo diet advocates, is a common misconception.(我们需要吃肉来获得足够的蛋白质和铁,这是一些古代饮食倡导者的错误假设,是一种常见的误解。)”提出了人们对于吃肉才能 获取关键营养物质的误解的问题;第二段“Eating highly processed foods and red meat has been repeatedly demonstrated to promote underlying mechanisms of cancer and cardiovascular disease, such as inflammation (炎症) and damage to the lining of blood vessels. In addition to harming ourselves, eating meat harms others.(食用高度加工的食品和红肉已多次被证明会促进癌症和心血管疾病的潜在机制,如炎症和血管内膜损伤。吃肉除了伤害自己,也伤害其他人。)”分析了食用加工食品和红肉的危害,指出了现存的问题;第四段“While large-scale, well-organized national and international action is undoubtedly needed to fight unscrupulous factory farming practices—and to ensure the availability of nutritious and healthy food for all citizens, those with greater influence, such as physicians, educators and policy makers, should consider the importance of acting as role models for healthy behaviors themselves as well as advocating for policies that ensure better nutritional access and education for others.(虽然毫无疑问需要大规模、组织良好的国家和国际行动来打击肆无忌惮的工厂化养殖做法,并确保所有公民都能获得营养和健康的食物,但那些有更大影响力的人,如医生、教育工作者和政策制定者,应该考虑到自己作为健康行为榜样的重要性,以及倡导确保他人获得更好营养和教育的政策。)”和最后一段“All of these should not be excuses for individuals to resist carrying out change in their own lives and communities. Societies change when enough individuals within them alter their behavior, and it is up to each of us to act as a change agent in whatever capacity we can.(所有这些都不应该成为个人拒绝在自己的生活和社区中进行变革的借口。当社会中有足够多的人改变他们的行为时,社会就会改变,我们每个人都应该尽我们所能成为变革的推动者。)”提出了解决办法,国家和个人都应该采取行动促进社会变革。故本文结构是先提出问题,再指出解决办法。故选D。
第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分)
阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。
Interrupting another person’s sentence is normally considered as undesirable. However, it is not always equally impolite. In addition to the hostile (敌意的) takeover of the sentence, which serves to dominate, there are also friendly, even positive interruptions. ____16____ And it can give a conversation momentum (动力). Over 30 years ago, communication scientist Julia A. Goldberg at the University of Wyoming categorized interruptions into three types — bad, good and neutral.
An interruption in the sense of gaining power almost always happens in front of an audience. And this is precisely the type of interruption that men tend to use. Sociologists from Princeton University found that the larger a group is, the more likely it is that men will take the floor. ____17____ This is because “speaking time also has an influence on dominance”, says Kothoff.
____18____ These interruptions can be used to express interest, for example, by asking a quick question (“Do you mean Mina from 9b?”), commenting on something quickly (“How exciting!”) or making approving humming noises (“Mmm”). ____19____ The person speaking feels even more heard and there is a resonance (共鸣) between the two.
“Of course, even mild interruptions can be unpleasant for the person being interrupted,” according to communication trainer Jorg Abromeit. For example, when someone asks a question just as the speaker is about to expand on the important part of their message. Asking questions too quickly and too often can also be annoying. The situation is similar with the third group of interruptions, neutral interruptions. They have no deeper meaning. ____20____
Therefore, the key to a successful interruption lies not in the act itself, but in the intention behind it and how it makes the other person feel.
A. Conversations between people are true works of art.
B. They are neither about power nor about relationship.
C. And the more powerful men are, the longer they speak.
D. Interrupting can also be helpful and highly appreciative.
E. Being interrupted while speaking is a common thing to experience.
F. The second type of interruptions, on the other hand, consolidate a relationship.
G. This signals to the other person that you are involved and emotionally engaged.
D 17. C 18. F 19. G 20. B

由上文“In addition to the hostile (敌意的) takeover of the sentence, which serves to dominate, there are also friendly, even positive interruptions.(除了带有支配意图、充满敌意的抢话打断,也存在友好甚至积极的打断行为。)”以及下文“And it can give a conversation momentum (动力).(而且它能为对话增添活力。)” D项“Interrupting can also be helpful and highly appreciative.(打断他人说话也可以是有益的且饱含认同的。)”
由上文“Sociologists from Princeton University found that the larger a group is, the more likely it is that men will take the floor.(普林斯顿大学社会学家发现,群体规模越大,男性越容易抢占话语权。)”以及下文“This is because “speaking time also has an influence on dominance”, says Kothoff.(科托夫称这是因为发言时长也关乎支配地位。)” C项“And the more powerful men are, the longer they speak.(男性的支配地位越强,发言时间就越长。)”
由上文介绍第一种带有权力争夺的负面打断,下文“These interruptions can be used to express interest, for example, by asking a quick question...(这类打断可以用来表达兴趣,比如快速提问、简短夸赞等。)” F项“The second type of interruptions, on the other hand, consolidate a relationship.(与之相对,第二种打断能够巩固人际关系。)”
由上文“These interruptions can be used to express interest, for example, by asking a quick question (“Do you mean Mina from 9b?”), commenting on something quickly (“How exciting!”) or making approving humming noises (“Mmm”).(这类插话可以用来表达自己感兴趣,比如快速抛出一个问题(“你说的是9B班的米娜吗?”)、简短发表感慨(“太让人激动了!”),或是发出表示认同的哼声(“嗯”)。)”以及下文“The person speaking feels even more heard and there is a resonance (共鸣) between the two.(说话者会感到自己被认真倾听,双方产生共鸣。)” G项“This signals to the other person that you are involved and emotionally engaged.(这向对方传递出你全身心投入、情感投入的信号。)”
由上文“The situation is similar with the third group of interruptions, neutral interruptions. They have no deeper meaning.(这种情况和第三种中立型打断类似。它们没有深层含义。)”可知,空格应进一步解释中立打断既无关权力也无关人际关系。B项“They are neither about power nor about relationship.(它们既不关乎权力争夺,也不关乎人际关系维系。)”

Dear Chris,
I’m writing to share the words I heard that have greatly affected me. The words are “The best way to predict the future is to create it,” said by my head teacher during our class meeting last year. At that time, we were all confused about our goals and worried about our future.
These powerful words changed my attitude completely. They made me understand that we shouldn’t wait passively, but work hard actively to make our dreams come true. I want to share them because I believe they can help more students build confidence and strive for their future.
I hope the words can benefit more students.
Yours sincerely,

Ten-year-old Tom always felt lonely. His parents were always occupied with work. They left home early in the morning and came back late at night. Tom often ate dinner alone and went to bed without a goodnight kiss. For him, there were no family games, no city tours, no weekend outings.
One day, Tom's parents brought home a gift—a smart watch. "This watch has a special friend inside,” Mom said with a smile. "Her name is Ling. She can talk to you, answer your questions, and even tell you stories.” A wave of anticipation swept over Tom as he put on the watch and pressed the button. A gentle voice came out, "Hello, Tom! I'm Ling. Nice to meet you!” Tom's eyes lit up. He had never received such an interesting gift before.
From that day on, Ling became Tom's closest companion. Every morning, Ling would say, "Good morning, Tom! Have a great day at school!” Whenever Tom encountered difficulties with his homework, Ling would patiently provide thorough explanations. After Tom got into bed, Ling would tell his favorite tales about brave knights and magical lands. Sometimes, when Tom felt scared of the dark, Ling would sing softly to comfort him. To Tom, Ling was more than a voice; she was family.
His parents noticed Tom's change. "See? Our little boy seems much happier now,” Dad said one evening. Mom agreed, "The watch really helps,” relieved. They thought their son was no longer lonely. What they didn't know was that sometimes, after Ling had finished her stories, Tom would lie awake in the darkness, listening to the silence that filled the room. He loved Ling, but he couldn't help thinking: if only Mom and Dad were here.
One afternoon after school, Tom tripped and fell on the way home. The watch hit a rock with a loud crack. When Tom picked it up, the screen was dark. He pressed the button again and again, but nothing appeared. "Ling? Ling, are you there?” he called desperately. There was no reply.
注意:
(1)续写词数应为 150 左右;

At that moment, both Mom and Dad saw clearly what they had missed.
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Tom had no choice but to turn to his parents for help. Clutching the broken watch, he hurried home. Like usual, the house lay empty and quiet. But this time, the loneliness felt unbearable — not because Ling was gone, but because the people he truly needed were absent. He waited and waited. It was nearly midnight when his parents finally returned. They were alarmed to see Tom curling up on the sofa, face wet with tears. “What happened, Tom?” Mom rushed over. Wordlessly, he held out the broken watch. Dad soon fetched his toolbox trying to fix it, but in vain. Seeing this, Tom couldn’t contain himself any longer and burst into desperate sobs. Between gasps, he poured out his loneliness — the silent dinners, the empty house, the longing for someone to be there.
At that moment, both Mom and Dad saw clearly what they had missed. They realized that no watch, however smart, could ever take the place of their presence. Immediately, Mom wrapped her arms around Tom, apologizing, “I’m so sorry. We thought the watch was enough, but we were wrong.” Dad knelt beside them, his voice thick with guilt. “From now on, we’ll be home earlier. No more lonely dinners.” Together they drew up a family schedule — Tuesday night board games, Friday pizza-making, Sunday afternoons in the park. They promised to make it a weekly routine and wrote it on the family calendar in bright colors. That night, the family came to understand technology might offer comfort, but only love could fill the silence of an empty home.

The lectures are recorded and available on the official education platform, allowing students to watch at their own pace and join live Q&A sessions.

D. Optimism.
